There were a couple things I forgot to look for but the main issue is that the prices have gone up so much in the past three or four years since the last time I was in one that there was nothing I needed enough to spend that much more on it. Not their fault, everybody's prices have gone way up. If I'd seen something on sale that I needed I might have gotten it though . Part of the reason for coming here was that I saw somebody carrying one of their cute tote bags and it made me want to get one. I ended up getting two because the little elephant one was so cute. Their clearance rack had real good prices at half off so I got some sprouted whole-grain bread, some sour cream and some organic tortillas from there. I had to buy a bag of Basil just because it smells so good. I got some of their bulk ranch seasoning to go with the sour cream and one of those lavender sporks for three dollars, remembering that just a couple years ago they used to be $2. Ultimately I was happy with what I ended up with. And I have to say, when I smelled the wonderful aroma before I even walked into the store, I had that familiar feeling of being home because it smells like the other stores I had been to, the comforting aroma of herbs and spices and essential oils all mixed together.

Taste was pretty good though. There was a long table inside by the windows, but it was almost full from a large group watching the World Cup match and we didn't want to intrude. Before long I felt like such a little piggy because I had sampled nearly every cookie in the box. The problem was that every time I tried a new one, it was just as good, if not better, than the one before it. I kept thinking I had found my favorite, only to change my mind with the next bite. And these cookies were BIG hoggers too, probably around 6 inches across. These are not little dainty cookies you mindlessly nibble on. They have some size to them, and thankfully the flavor matches. So while I can't review the bakery itself, the atmosphere, or the service just yet, I can absolutely review the cookies. Based on those alone, Rise Up Bakery has definitely gotten my attention.
