Yes. Cheese? Also yes. Portion control? Absolutely not. And honestly? Respect. The Birria Tacos (aka post-workout happiness) These tacos are CRISPY. Like audible crunch. Golden, juicy, stuffed with slow-cooked beef that tastes like it's been marinating in flavor since 1997. And the consommé??? You dip it and suddenly you understand why people fall in love too fast. Served with: Mexican rice (carb loading but make it elite) Refried beans with melted cheese (fiber... we're calling it balance) A lime wedge for aesthetic health Would I eat this after leg day? Yes. Would I eat this before leg day? Also yes. The Smothered Burrito (aka the villain arc meal) It comes out sizzling like it's announcing its presence. Completely drowned in melted cheese. Sauce everywhere. Zero shame. You cut into it and it's just layers of juicy meat, sauce, and chaos. This is not a "cute little lunch." This is a "cancel your plans and commit" situation. Foodie Influencer Notes: Portions are HUGE (shareable but do you really want to?) Flavor is bold, rich, and comforting Not watered down, not bland, not pretending to be healthy This is real, messy, satisfying food Gym Girl Verdict: Is it high protein? Yes. Is it high calorie? Also yes. Is life about balance? Absolutely. You can meal prep chicken and rice all week... but sometimes you need birria dipped in consommé while telling yourself "this is for muscle growth." Final Rating: 9/10 - would absolutely earn this on the StairMaster again.

So, if you have a group I am sure they can accommodate. The margarita tasted a little like Mt Dew, so I guess you would say on the sweeter side. The chips were good tasted home made, and the salsa was also good, I have had better for my personal taste but it was still yummy. We had a chicken con polo (sp?) and it was good, again not our favorite in the area but still delicious and a generous portion. Staff was pleasant and I believe a manager or owner stopped by to see how we were doing which I felt was a nice touch. Good place to visit but not our regular Taco Tuesday venue.

The sandwich portions are generous and come with a small side portion and sliced pickles. The pulled pork comes without sauce and when we went, they only had spicy and blackberry sauce. As far as flavor, we agreed the pork was kinda dry but okay. I had the blackberry sauce, which I found runny and not so flavorful. My boyfriend had the spicy and said it was good, but the kick lingered in his mouth. My coleslaw was weak too. Overall, the location is perfect for this kind of meal. It's a reasonable price for what you get - sandwich, side, and drink. Probably great for local lunches, but we wouldn't go out of our way.

The meat has a great smokey flavor and is very tender. The baked beans have quickly become a favorite and the coleslaw is a close second. They offer huge sandwiches which include 6 oz. meat, one side and a drink for $7.50 or larger platters for around $11. They never keep me waiting long and they have many BBQ sauces to choose from including some interesting ones such as cherry habanero and blackberry. They are usually located around the corner of 7th Ave. and 44th St. in Marion behind Arnold's motor supply. So if you find yourself in the area around lunchtime it's definitely worth the stop!

Had I not just had one of the best pieces of meat I have ever had the "Link" special was fantastic. Nice heat, casing snapped, and the flavors of "El Rey" shown through. Had to have some smoked baked beans to even out my stomach and they were great by then selves. Cooked and smoked long enough to have that smoke and thicker/sweeter sauce from the reduction on the Q. Just legit! Restaurant doesn't have any TV's and is served fast casual, but staff are attentive and active filling drinks and beers.

Stopped in for dinner on Saturday and the line was out the door (which consistently stayed that way while I was there for about 60 minutes). Although the line to order (YES, you order your food at the counter and then go sit down) the staff was helpful and kind. If you're a fan of pork belly you MUST go on Saturday, it's only a special on this day. I tried a little of everything and I was blown away by the quality. The best items in my opinion: 1. Smoked Mac and Cheese 2. Pork Belly Sandwich 3. Ribs 4. Pulled Pork You can't go wrong with any of the options though, to be clear. There was one female worker in charge of the dining room and she is AMAZING. Courteous, patient, kind and pretty hilarious too. She was quick to tell us that she can order drinks via her mobile ordering device and we don't need to stand in line again for another drink.. much appreciated since it was SO BUSY! Top notch employee that I look forward to seeing again! The owner was also out in the dining space conversing with guests which is always nice to see. He even offered our table some special sauce not featured (which I don't want to put here because... secret) which was surprising and such a treat. The sauce was amazing, but who's surprised by that? I have been a fan of Midnight Smoker since their location in Newbo and I am so HAPPY this place is not only excelling, but are pushing boundaries and staying true to what they love. I will absolutely be back and I hope everyone has a chance to taste this one-of-a-kind place.

My son spotted the pork tenderloin sandwich, and that clinched the deal for us. Since moving away from Iowa, this is something that is sorely missed. It was a pretty quiet weekday lunch hour when we stopped by. There was only one other customer in front of us, and the friendly gentleman behind the counter took our order and told us that it would be about 8 minutes for our order to be ready. In addition to the tenderloin, we ordered the brisket sammich and some onion rings. We were going to eat well that day. Unfortunately, things seemed to get away from him just a little bit. The people before us had also ordered two tenderloins, but for reasons unclear he only prepared their order instead of breading and frying all three of ours at once. Then some guy from DoorDash or GrubHub showed up to pick up an order, and then he had to stop everything and focus on that pickup. When he returned to the people waiting, the couple in front of us was starting to get a little impatient. He finally took care of them, and turned his attention to ours. Our tenderloin was breaded and put into the fryer. He gave it us, but we had to remind him that we had also ordered the brisket and onion rings, the latter of which he had not put into the fryer. Several minutes later our order was ready, but at this point it was over 20 minutes later. Having said all that, the food was quite good. The brisket was served in thick cuts and was tender and juicy. The tenderloin was also very good, with a nice crispy texture that didn't get soggy. It was served in a basket, and I felt that it would have been better on a plate because the tenderloin is so large that it's hard to get your hands around it when it fills up the entire basket. The onion rings were disappointing, though. I was expecting much more hearty, thick rings, but they were small and somewhat uninspired. Overall, this was a fine meal with just some logistical snags that certainly can be improved upon.

The pulled pork was good tasting and was served on a quality bun, however it seemed soggy from sitting in the steam table. Don't get me wrong it was still delicious. The cornbread is amazing.
