Burgers & Curries is hands down one of our favorite Indian restaurants--easily top three for us…read more It also happens to be the closest Indian spot to us, but convenience aside, we genuinely love it. The restaurant is locally owned and run by the sweetest family, and you can really feel that care in both the service and the food. The space is small, clean, and welcoming, located right off 114 near the IHOP/Wingstop area. Despite the ongoing construction on 114 (which has been a mess), they've stayed incredibly consistent. The food is always good--like, reliably good--and I honestly have zero complaints. I always order the paneer tikka masala, and it is so, so good every single time. My husband and my boys are obsessed with the chicken biryani and swear it hits every time they order it. If you're looking for a great, family-run Indian restaurant with consistently amazing food, this is absolutely one you should try--and keep coming back to.

Love the flavor. Hate the prices and portions. Wouldn't return because of that. Photos for…read morereference. Spent $80 for two people and we're still hungry. Pictured are the 4 quarter tandoori...$22 for each box. The chicken can fit in my palm. Pictured is the chicken tikka masala...$15 for 10 small pieces of cubed chicken, that were hard to find in all the sauce. We ordered two of these. Not pictured is palak paneer, but same quantity as the chicken tikka masala, only a few pieces, $14. Also got garlic naan, 4 slices for $8.

We'll go back. We were not familiar with Nepali cuisine, which is one reason we tried this…read morerestaurant. Service was decent, they were very busy on Saturday night so just two people up front was not enough. Not impressed with the Nepali beer, go for the Taj Mahal lager. We had the Thali Set dinner. The small amount of pickles were both sour and bitter, not for us (perhaps an acquired taste) but good that we tried. All the dishes were good and we want to try more on our next visit. Reasonable pricing and the waitstaff nice. Oh, don't try calling the restaurant, they don't answer....

The Butter Sauce Here Changed My Life (and Possibly My Religion)…read more Let me start by saying this. I have eaten a lot of Indian food. Like probably-should-have-a-punch-card-at-every-restaurant-in-Dallas levels of Indian food. So when I stumbled on Spicy Chowk in Denton, tucked in a random shopping center that does not exactly scream culinary magic, I was not expecting much. But then I saw it. The dining room was packed. And not just packed, people were locked in, eating like they were defending their plates from thieves. That is when I knew something serious was going down. So I parked. I walked in. And I am telling you right now, this place delivers. Let's cut straight to the chase. The butter sauce here is the truth. Forget whatever you think you know about butter chicken versus tikka masala. I ordered both on my first visit because I am a responsible adult who makes brave culinary decisions, and I can say without hesitation the butter sauce wins. It is richer, it has that perfect tang, that deep tomato pop, that silky balance of spice and cream that makes you rethink every good tikka masala you have ever had. If you are one of those tikka loyalists, hear me out. You are going to walk in thinking tikka is the move. I get it, I have been you. But trust me, the butter here is where it is at. That is your go-to order. Now let's talk momos because these little flavor bombs are not messing around. The masala momos and butter momos are next-level. I do not know what kind of magic they are working back there, but these dumplings are addictive. You get that Nepali flair with all the depth of Indian spice, and the combo plate is honestly the best way to roll. Round it all out with some garlic naan, which is dangerously good, and a side of rice, and you are basically guaranteed to leave happy, full, and maybe slightly emotional. I have had the saag, which was excellent, and the korma, which was solid, but I am telling you, the butter sauce is the star of the show. That is your ticket. Order the butter anything, butter chicken, butter paneer, butter momos, whatever. Just make sure butter is somewhere in that sentence. Bottom line, Spicy Chowk is one of those rare hidden gems that punches way above its location. It is vibrant, flavorful, and absolutely worth the drive. You will find me here dipping naan like it is a full-time job.
