Here is the post "My daughter and I went to Tom Jackson to get some implants, etc. done on her teeth. During our first visit, Tom examined my daughter's mouth and afterwards told us he thought the whole procedure would come in just under $20k. We thought great, seems reasonable and went ahead with the process. My daughter, who lives out of town, flew in for the second visit to start the process. The following day we receive the treatment plan from his assistant. The estimated cost was a little over $34k (70% above estimate). We were flabbergasted. We called Tom and asked him how he could have been off that much on his original quote and he said "I don't do billing". Needless to say we stopped the process and looked elsewhere. We found a very professional outfit, very highly rated and who my daughter was very comfortable with and whose treatment plan estimated the total cost at under $19k for the same procedures (less than Tom's original quote). What a terrible experience. My daughter has gone through the first part of the procedure and everything looks great. One other note - after we called and complained, Tom said he would refund our fees for the second visit (not the first) but we had to sign a nondisclosure agreement (gag order) not to discuss this on social media. First and foremost as new patients they were able to get us in right away. The lady who scheduled my appointment was very nice and very understanding from the get go. We arrived with a very unhappy little boy and they told us to just take all of the time we needed to get him acclimated and they weren't kidding. My son was loving their set up with the treehouse/playhouse and the touchscreen games, but when it came time for his visit he had another meltdown. They did everything they could to try to settle him but nothing was working so we had planned a different location of theirs thinking it might do the trick. But after another 30 minutes my kid was calmed enough to try again. And they were so kind to squeeze us in (mind you this was a full hour and a half after our appointment and they were so accepting and kind!!) They went really slow with him and walked him through the whole thing. He's already scheduled for his second appointment and he says he's willing to return!! That's huge. Great staff and inviting, clean, kid friendly atmosphere.

A root canal completed by Dr Distel came back with face swelling and intense pain 10 years later…read more When I visited the office for a reevaluation, I was shamed by the front desk staff that the root canal failed because I waited a year to get the final crown (10 years ago). I sought a second opinion at Renovo, and when they reviewed Dr Distel's recent imagery, the doctor spotted a root that was not cleared out and filled during the root canal Dr Distel performed. (So he missed it twice - once 10 years ago, and again when I came in with pain). This mistake led to a serious infection causing bone loss in my jaw and countless rounds of antibiotics, time off work, and pain. I went in for retreatment at Renovo to have the missed canal cleared out, only to discover the entire tooth was now compromised and was told I needed an oral surgeon for extraction. In total, I paid for 2 root canals, a surgical extraction, and anesthesia costs not covered by insurance before it was all said and done. Oh, and I lost the tooth. Please, avoid this endodontist at all costs.
