After communicating through the Yelp Services option, Marco showed up the morning of during the window of time to get a free consultation. Starting in the bathroom, instead of selling us his services, he told us honestly that we could fix it ourselves by purchasing a few items since they have a minimum charge that wasn't worth it for the bathroom fix. He took the time to walk us through how to fix it and why vinegar doesn't solve the root of the problem. He pointed out things from our paint to our bathroom ventilation issues that we should address. For the shed, he truthfully told us the cost of how much it would be for him to fix it versus us doing it ourselves or hiring some people he was training instead. This review is for a visit in October 20, 2025. I called and hired One Call Services after seeing their track record and reviews on Yelp. I selected One Call Service because they agreed to come when I needed them, though being located in Fremont they were further away than companies not responding closer to where I live. I spoke with Marco, the owner, and said I wanted to have someone inspect a problem area for mold. He said they'd come to look at the area, and either give a verbal report of what they found or take a test to send to a lab for a report on the results. I'd had my carpets shampooed two weeks before for the first time since buying my place. The carpet cleaning uncovered an area on the carpet by the entryway that, when dry, showed a fairly large area within which darker irregular sections showed up, not visible before. I had the carpet cleaning company come back to re-treat the specific colored areas, but the 2nd shampooing didn't change what had appeared before. When re-treating the spots, the cleaning company's person said that the liquid he was extracting there seemed to be soapy/bubbly. I had to rent 2 carpet blowers to help dry the carpet after the first cleaning as the carpets seemed very wet, taking longer than expected to dry. Because of this, seeing those dark irregular areas appear made me concerned it might be caused by mold. I needed to have new furniture delivered but wanted to have the areas inspected first and, if an expert felt it necessary, I wanted test samples sent to a lab for final determination. Jaime, the manager at One Call Services, was the person who conducted the visit. He texted me when he was leaving and gave me an ETA. I was kept informed of changes in arrival. Jaime was polite, professional and listened to my concerns, asking pertinent questions. He inspected the affected areas carefully, noting they were dry, but felt different to the touch than other nearby areas that hadn't developed the darkening. I also could feel that it seemed as if the fibers were matted as if something had spilled on them. Jaime's final evaluation was that it didn't seem to be mold, and in his opinion there didn't seem to be a reason to take a sample of the environment or carpet to incur the expense of testing for mold. He was straightforward, patient and answered other questions I posed about accidental water overflows from appliances and how to be aware of them. In the end, he did not charge me for the visit and time spent looking at my problem or answering my questions. I was very satisfied with the exchange and his demeanor. I would not hesitate to hire One Call Svces again if there were a need in the future. read more

He was very patient and clear with the extent of work that was needed for my water damage / mold remediation and even took time to explain items on his quote on the phone prior to starting the job. They were very thorough with the cleaning/ removal of the molded drywalls and kept me in the loop with the work that is needed as they peeled back pieces to see the extent of the damage beyond what we could see. The job was finished on schedule and they did a great job cleaning up and asking if I had any more questions. I am going to leave this review for Marco at One Call even though I did not order any services from them. On a Friday night, after recent rains, as soon as I started the heating, a moldy smell started coming from all the vents. Since it was late, there was nothing much I could do except turn off the HVAC for the night. Saturday morning, I started calling around, and had a chat with Marco. Over about 15 minutes, he listened to my problem, gave his opinion about what things might have gone wrong, and how I could proceed to troubleshoot the problem. Marco and Jaime helped me out twice. Once when my house was flooded by mud and they helped to tear down a 3rd car garage storage room and another more recently when my master bathroom toilet flooded and the water found it's way through the floor down to my family room. Both cases the concern was mold developing in the walls. In both cases, One Call was super professional and honest. There are many instances where they could have nickeled and dimed me for longer rental of fans or dehumidifiers (would have been justified in doing so) but they did not. In these disaster situations you're looking for someone who you can trust. there's a lot of contractors that will scare you into tearing up the entire wall and floor to clean up the area, essentially telling you to remodel the area. One Call will give you advice as though it's their own house and money. Since I was a return customer, the 2nd time they gave me a great discount and just wanted to help me out of this stressful situation. Jaime's advice really gave me piece of mind. I could have tore everything down and remodeled a kitchen and family room..which would have cost a lot of money and time. Might have involved my insurance as well. Jaime's guidance helped me avoid extra headache. Telling me to tear everything up actually brings their business more money, yet they advised me otherwise. You will not find a more honest person than Marco Herrera. I've dealt with other remediation companies in the past such as Service Master and Servpro. My experience with them is, they were recommending services which cost thousands of dollars, which were unnecessary. Enter Marco. Marco came earlier than our scheduled appointment, and he spent over an hour, assessing our water damage and making recommendations. He used his infrared camera, moisture detector, and inspected the various areas of the floor, wall, drywall, cabinets and floorboards where the water had gone. Marco explained the purpose of each device, and how he determines damage. Marco also inspected and assesses the presence of mold. Based on his assessment, he recommended doing a few things which did not require his services. He informed me how I could accomplish those things on my own by just going to Home Depot and purchasing two things. I was completely amazed and grateful with Marco. Our dishwasher had rodent damage to the drain hose which leaked into the floor beneath our cabinet. My friend--a contractor--came over with his industrial strength dehumidifier and I was drying it out when they arrived.
