Darvell came to inspect my parent's house for water damage from a toilet leak 2 months ago. He was super informative from the very first call. When Darvell came, he could tell I was a DIYer right off the bat. We problem solved some issues that we had in our home as I was hearing a drip from a drain. But when he did a thermal scan and moisture detection, there was no signs of water anywhere. He didn't see any moisture in our ceiling and said he didn't think there was mold in our ceiling. He said he just couldn't justify opening up our ceiling nor recommending any treatment. He did notice some moisture in one of our showers and said keep it dry then seal it off or regrout it in a few days. Didn't charge me at all for his visit. I had to shamelessly ask for help to carry an old toilet down the stairs to our garage and into my car so I could dispose of it. He graciously said yes. Hands down one of the best experiences with a vendor in an incredibly stressful situation I have ever had! We discovered mold on 4th of July weekend - no one will be around to respond, or so I thought, within an hour of sending a request through Yelp on a Sunday, I received a message and a call from one of the owners I believe who was on his way out of town for vacation, he still took the time to call me and assure me that his team member that handles the mold remediation would be in touch. Within hours, I got a call from Darvell scheduling an inspection for 8:00 am the next day! He showed up promptly at our scheduled time and showed me where he thought the water saturation and potential mold would be. He then went to his truck and within minutes I had a quote back which he took the time to walk me through. Mold remediation is a very methodical process - there are specific steps and timeframes for each step to ensure proper remediation. Darvell also took the time to explain the insurance piece and if we were going to file a claim - he would be able to work directly with insurance and knows exactly what format they need to have all the details entered into. He never put pressure on us one way or another, shared some insights into what some of his other customers have done, we ultimately opted NOT to go through insurance based on the type of issue it was (nothing insurance would cover). The quote by the way was incredibly reasonable, in fact I was so worried - you have no idea what it could possibly be and that adds another layer of stress, but it was fair and very transparent with all the pieces to it (i.e. things like rental fees for the equipment they use)! First day of remediation (within 24 hours of signing quote) and my favorite part - within maybe 2 hours, my room was completely covered/sealed and the moldy ick was out. That was the first deep breath I took (this is a very stressful process). Not only that, but we had two air scrubbers and a HUGE HEPA filter. I finally was able to sleep that night knowing it was gone. Step 2 - find the leak and fix. He and Junior put their expertise to work, it was probably a more unusual source for a leak to come from and they had a brilliant solution. We did end up doing something different, he was great and let him know how things were going. Darvell communicated each day with what would happen next and not only that, but he followed-through exactly as he said! If anything changed along the way, I was kept up to date and vice versa. There are so many moving parts to this process and if it weren't for Darvell and Junior, I would have had a panic attack and not slept for last week plus. We are now in the put back together phase, which has its own levels of stress/timing/scheduling. Unlike a remodel, this is something that had to be taken care of - its very disruptive - no prep time, just clean and dump things where you can. So to have Darvell take the lead and help put my space back together as quickly as humanly possible and push for meeting these specific steps, it truly has made all the difference in the world and there really are no words to express our gratitude! Mold is a really serious hazard and I would recommend these guys to anyone and everyone! Truly incredible customer service in the midst of a really stressful situation! Darvell came today to give me a free estimate for water remediation after a part in my toilet failed causing the tank to fill up with water then overflow unchecked for hours. He used his infrared camera to allow me to see where moisture was still present in the bedroom and closet next to the bathroom. So they have been working on our project for a couple months. The problem we have had with this company is they are disorganized. The insurance company says they have never worked with a company that only provides half the information needed then doesn't get back to them with the rest. They scratched our floors and said they took responsibility (which is good) & said they will replace but want to try to get the insurance to cover everything instead of just ordering the floor so it can be done as soon as possible (or that's what it seems like since another week has passed and they keep putting us off saying they need to talk to the insurance). Also the guy they had doing the dry wall would say he was going to show up then just not show up and when he was done there were spots that weren't done. definitely don't recommend them they are very nice when we do talk to them. My husband and I have been really patient about all the problems but at this point we are scared it won't get done at all. read more

Around last christmas, we'd developed a noxious smell in our house stemming from a combination of a failed shower wall, groundwater seepage, and rat droppings.
