Cute place for little ones to explore and learn! Came on a weekend afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all. Ample room for the kiddies to play and enjoy themselves. Ample parking outside. The place was clean and there were employees walking around tidying up after the children as it was getting close to closing time. Parents are free and the price for children is more then reasonable, flat fee of $12/walker, $6/ crawler. Great place for the kids to come and get there energy out! read more

Going to write my first review ever because some things about this place really bothered me The Good The place is a really cool setup for kids of all ages. If your having a birthday party here there is stuff to do for all ages. Its a large area and you get the whole area to yourself The young kids who work the party are outstanding. They play with the kids and go around and make sure everyone is having a good time The Bad- 1) A really unhappy group of women that work the front desk. When your booking and paying for your party it seems like that they hired a group of women who really don't like little kids much. While I was paying, they were openly complaining about a women who called to ask for some information about a party By the desk they have a bunch of toys for sale. Naturally all the kids gravitate to them. The front desk ladies didn't like this and often yelled at my kids and other peoples kids 2) Price. Roughly 25 kids and your paying over 800 bucks for an hour and a half. You can't bring anything in from the outside except the cake. When I asked the front desk for a glass of water for my son I was told there was a vending machine down the hall. Give me a friggin break. I just dropped 800 bucks and you can't give me a water???? 3) Space. While the play area is big the room to sing and eat was very small for 25 kids and their parents. They offered to split us up into 2 rooms, but whats the point of that? I would not go back again. A very short party, obnoxious front desk help, and I'm surprised they don't charge you for toilet paper also. Stay away read more

As one of their very first employees and also now a customer with children of my own I wanted to be able to post a review that was from both sides of the fence. When I was an employee the owners (who were extremely nice) went through a lot of effort to train us and customer service was always a high priority. Cleaning! that was huge i my self was told directly from the owner that the play unit was to be wiped down with disinfectant inch by inch at the end of every day to keep dust off the cushions and as germ free as possible. the toys in the play rooms were sprayed with disinfectant at the end of everyday especially the toys for the crawlers since they stick everything in their mouths. They went out of their way to get spray that was strong enough to kill germs and organic enough to be placed in a babies mouth with out causing harmful effects. The carpet was to be vacuumed nightly all trash taken out and even the bathrooms cleaned. now all of that happened when they first opened i worked there for the first year and then graduated college and moved on to work in my field. My recent visit was id say 7.5 maybe and 8 out of 10. since i worked there iv had some children I went for open play i proudly paid the $12 per child for my son and his friend who happen to be ages 2 and 3 yrs old. I was greeted by a older women at the front desk that was super sweet and on we went. the kids played and had an amazing time. on staff were 3 young ladies 2 seem to be cleaning one seem to pop her head out from one of the rooms every so often. I actually climbed into the play unit and chased the little ones and played and had them chase me ect.. while in the play unit i noticed tons of dust build up on the plastic cushions and the netting and even on the platform cushions this is something i have never seen when i worked there. i was very surprised and a bit unsettled by it but hey who hasn;t ever had a little dust in their home right? so on to playing with the children they left the unit and room to room as they went room to room i played and pretended with them. we went into the grocery store and the wooden blocks of what is suppose to be food products the paint was fading and they appeared to be in poor condition. they could really use a coat of paint to get them back to their vibrant colors. there was a little bit of i guess dirty on the plastic fruits like they might of been sprayed but not wiped down. This led me to further inspect the other rooms on I went room to room and the place is in great shape but when i worked there the owners were there constantly. However they now have a store manager that is to run the shop and although she is sweet i feel she is just treating it like a job and not her home. Over all the place is still the best place to bring my children to play any day of the week! the price is a little higher then id like to pay id say maybe $8 to $10 is fair. the $12 is fine if the place would be in absolute mint condition which they could easily achieve by cracking down on their manager and re training their staff. one of the 3 girls actually offered to play with my kids but only after a while of them being there. The place is obviously falling victim to people half @$$ing their jobs. I look forward to going back and seeing if things got any better. Hands down i stand behind the owners 100% and im sure if they were aware of these issues they would fix them asap! read more

This place is a dream come true; I regret never having found it sooner. My two kids can play in this "magical land" (really, no exaggeration) ALL DAY LONG for a low admission price on weekdays. That means my kids are actually entertained ALL DAY--they both love it here. There is a clean "mess hall" to have lunch with HIGH CHAIRS, and clean bathrooms with CHANGING TABLES, and a fun toy store to browse....all along with an amazing play area. Even the staff is friendly (seems hard to come by these days). read more

I'm very particular with where I bring my son to play because I used to work in a bounce house when I was younger so I can tell the difference when something an inflatable is regularly cleaned vs. barely wiped down. Overall I loved the set up, it was definitely the biggest playhouse I've brought him thus far. He had just began to walk when I brought him and was enjoying all of the different themed play areas but I could definitely see how crawling babies could enjoy the play area as well. For $12 admission (as a walking toddler) I think it was absolutely a steal. I'm not sure why other reviews say that it's overpriced when some places charge per hour. Technically speaking if you brought lunch to eat in the rooms you could stay all day so I don't see how $12 would be an issue. You could either pack your own food or they allow you to order delivery in to the place as well, I saw a bunch of people ordering pizza and eating it in the party rooms. Only part that's annoying is that they're only open on weekdays, which kind is sucks because it would be so convenient to go on a weekend. I went on a Thursday morning and to my surprise it was super busy. My only complaint is that for such a large area I only saw maybe one or two workers the entire time and maybe for a few minutes to put a couple of the toys back in their designated places. That being said a bunch of toddlers knocked my son down a few times which is obviously their parents fault for not parenting but it could have easily been avoided if a worker would step in to intervene no running etc. I definitely plan on bringing my son back here it is definitely worth the drive from Queens. read more

1 star I took my granddaughter here last week. The concept is wonderful, however, it is germ infested. Not only did my granddaughter contact coxsackie, two other parents that I spoke with also had children that were there last week and came down with similar symptoms. Although, they take steps to try and keep germs minimal, I have to question the lack of adult supervision. As I am all in favor of having young adults working, I feel that in an environment that has the potential to breed massive germs should be better supervised and cleaned properly on a regular basis throughout the day. I am by no means trying to say that the place is not fun and enjoyable for children, I am just trying to make people aware of the potential risk. Coxsackie is an awful, painful virus. 15 hours ago · read more

Don't go there on a holiday! they let in a million kids, there's no way they are even keeping track of how many kids are running around!

Had my sons 4th birthday there - everyone had a great time! Highly recommend, ask for Kyle to be your party host he was great

My baby nephew's first birthday was held here on the 29th. My family has A LOT of kids and so does my sister-in-law's side; a birthday party venue is a must for us! The kids there ranged from 6 months to... 30-something. This place was fun for EVERYONE. Once Upon a Treetop is the ultimate place for a child's imagination. There's a post office, restaurant, veterinarian's office, fashion boutique, school, firehouse, grocery store, construction area - and more! Each place "in town" is interactive; a spacious, open room with thoughtful details. To give you an example, the school has real elementary school desks in it! Kids go from place to place as they wish. They can choose to take transportation in the form of tricycles and ride-on cars. There weren't many of those but most kids will just want to run around, anyway. In the back, there is a climbing play area - THE TREEHOUSE! - with a very swirly yellow slide. At one point, me, my brother, and a family friend, were at the top of the treehouse. Three adults, hanging out like the monkeys. It's easy enough for adults to go through, making it perfect for parents of very young children or those with special needs. The staff interacts with many of the kids by helping them build towers and being a guest at their diner. They climb in the treehouse to assist kids and make sure everyone is safe and having a great time. For a while, one particular employee even took it upon herself to assist my oldest nephew, who has a developmental disability. She was so patient with him, made him laugh a lot and was just all around awesome. He had a BLAST here, just like all the other kids! Also worth mentioning, the very front of Once Upon a Treetop is a store that sells Melissa & Doug products. Chances are your kid will ask you for something. Bring some extra cash; these toys are the best. This place rocks. It's great for all ages (adults, too? - lol!) and kids of all different abilities. Once Upon a Treetop is a MUST if you have - or know someone with - KIDDIES! read more

Went her today for the first time .My nephew's birthday. So lets start with the positive. Great concept. A lot of fun things for the kids to explore. Did the 'stuff a bear 'theme which the kids enjoyed(though we had to keep asking for stuffing and at the end they have to give every kid a certificate with the bear's name.Which most kids didn't get) Now over to the play area.Nice place with a few ride ons, pretend play, etc. Great concept but somehow no one informed us that socks was a must even for parents. I understand its a rule they like to follow but omg! how rude. The lady who is in charge of the place is the rudest I have ever come across in years of attending and hosting birthday parties. Terrible attitude and Hey Lady With the black top today on june 25th, if u reading this, pls get a life. Learn to respect ppl.Its a place for kids and if u cant handle them, quit.Sit at home. With a team lead like this, of course the staff is under constant pressure and share her miserable attitude. U can see they r trying their best but bad vibes just follow. If u have no other option, then have ur party here. It's a great play space but not the front desk. read more

We've been here twice and have had great experiences. The open gym is perfect for 1-5 year olds. They can run around and be free to play with everything and everything. Can't ask for much more on a cold or rainy day when the park is not an option! Great spot read more

It's quite simple really -- turn the AC higher during the summertime!! My kid and I love this place...the open space, appropriate for diverse age ranges, various rooms for imaginative and creative play...but it is extremely difficult to have a pleasant play experience when you and your kid are sweating profusely. Interestingly, the front office where the staff are located is well cooled but the play area where the paying patrons are? Not so much. read more

Was about to let my 2.5yo daughter play and explore but turned right around once I saw the cancer emitting towers in the backyard!! Seriously, play spaces for children within a few feet of those towers?!? NOT OK! read more

The place is great for kids and a nice place to go if the weather is bad. It has a lot of fun things for the kids to play with and a climbing structure with slides on the back wall. Beware that open play is only during the week and not the weekends. The major complaint that I have is the parents that have children that are either too small or too timid to climb the play structure and get on it or go in with them. They really need a protocol for telling those parents that they don't belong there instead of relying on the teenage staff to do it. The parents clog up the climbing structure sometimes by just sitting on it and it's unfair to those kids who actually are of age to have fun on it. Kids would have to walk or climb over them to get to the higher parts - it can be intimidating for a young toddler. read more

my son really likes it here (he's two) but there is a lot to be desired. First of all so many children running around crazy with no supervision. No staff to be seen, except at the front desk. I even saw a nanny sleeping on a bench. Wonder what she's getting paid to do that. They also don't clean the toys. I saw so many toys go into children's mouths. At Gymboree they sanitize each toy after every class. We will stick with them. read more

Looking to throw a birthday party for your child without having to worry about the planning and entertainment? Here's to throwing the perfect event. I attended a child's birthday party and was pleasantly surprised at what a good time I had. This place is a bit off the beaten path, for what seems like an abandoned industrial area, but walk into this place, and you'll feel far being in any industrial warehouse. We happened to come here near Halloween, so the place was set up with a bunch of Halloween decorations. Before the birthday party begins, all guests are placed into the staging (waiting) room, where there is a large bin to put presents in and about 15-20 balloons to kick around and talk to other guests. The kids are then led down the hallway into a carpeted area referred to as "Little City Time". All shoes (kids and adults) must take their shoes off before entering this cute city of 8-10 themed stores, ranging from a garage with a handful of Little Tike vehicles, deli with boxes of food, a theater with props, a costume store with 30-40 cute costumes for kids to wear, a shopping mall with shopping carts and fruit/vegetable bins, and more. Situated in the very back, is a large multi-leveled tree house / play area for kids to climb up and down, and through tunnels and slides. The play arena is mostly safe with almost all of the bars thoroughly padded. A variety of guests/events can be added such as Cupcake The Clown, Arts & Crafts, Music With Darlene Graham, Hip-Hop Dance, and more. (After an hour of playing in Little City Time (and probably about the time when a child's attention span begins to wander), the kids are then taken into another room where several tables are set up with pizza and drinks. Food and drinks can also be brought from the outside for the adults to munch on. All in all, the kids were entertained for a good 90-minute birthday party. Note: Check out the website for event prices. read more

I've come here a few times because we got a free punch card when the little one signed up for toddler ballet class over the summer. The most recent time I went we were there for about 20 minutes before an employee came over and said we had to leave because they forgot they had a field trip coming in. How do you forget that?! They probably didn't realize until the buses showed up and people were walking in because the lady at the front looked very confused. Everyone who was there for free play got refunded or handed a free "pass" card but it was just inconvient and all the kids started crying because they didn't want to leave. The place is clean, and there is a lot to do for kids ages 2-4. The price is right & parents go in for free. But remember to bring socks!!! They offer them at the front for $2 if you do forget. Other than that mishap last time I would come back and recommend other parents to come with their toddlers! read more

Front desk has bad attitude. Not willing to help out at all. Don't go there on a holiday. Because their attitude will be even worse!

I bring my twins here often. Worst time to go is during a school break or when schools are close. It is very busy during those times. All the staff are very helpful and welcoming. They have yuck buckets for toys that need to be cleaned or sterilized. I had my twins first birthday here. It was a bit pricey for 90 mins during this time they were going up on the prices as well. we added stuff a bear to have more time. Everything starts on TIME. with or without you. I had bought decorations prior to this event which wasn't noted anywhere that you couldn't use your own however they let me use my own I just had to pay a $50 clean up fee for brining my own. It is now notes on the site in red lettering no outside decorations. The party service was amazing. I recommend this place for all ages up to 7/8. Great place the kids never run out of things to do. I do recommend they get a louder speaker for kids who love music the one they have you can barely hear it unless your up close to it. read more

Today was my daughters 2nd bday so I had a group of moms meet us there for the open play stayed 10-12pm on their calendar. We get there and they said that the open play was only 12-5 today. 6 other moms walked in as well and all stated that the website had stated 10-12, but the girl at the front desk said we must have been looking at the wrong date and wouldn't let us in, even though the room was empty. I said 10 moms don't ALL look at the wrong information. They changed the info on the website in the last few hours. So my suggestion is if you plan to go, CALL don't just show up based off info on the website... read more

Parking is terrible. I had to park in a tow away zone along with 4 other parents in there. When I come in to sign in and pay it's a gift shop. Umm, so yeah my toddler was grabbing everything as I'm trying to sign in and pay. $14 for walkers by the way. When I got the play area I was shocked to see how small it actually is. It was so packed at 11am on a Tuesday. There was barely any room to put our stuff in the coat room area. My 2 year old was a little overwhelmed at first but 30 mins in he was having fun. Okay so the bathroom is very tiny and a little smelly. No hot water either so I couldn't properly wash my hands or my son's after touching all the germ filled toys. I would maybe come back here if there was better parking and not so expensive. read more

I generally don't pay much attention to reviews but after reading the Yelp reviews for this place I should have. The establishment is a party factory with the sole purpose of separating you from as much money as they can. To the point that we were charge for water. The staff did not even make an effort to appear happy or attentive to our guest needs. In fact, my wife and I served all of the seconds and refills of juice because the staff was nowhere to be seen. At the end of the party we were literally thrown out of the place such that after ten minute trip to take a handicap person to the train I found all my guest gone and my wife and kids waiting outside in front of the place with the presents and melting cake. I really believe this place charges what they do because they know they are not going to get too many any return customers. read more

Really fell in love with this place, started going before my son turned one and I just had his 2nd birthday party there with kids from 1-7. Everyone had a great time, staff was great and attentive. I ordered extra food for adults-Italian hero-and that was very good also. Your kids are guaranteed a good time. I love bringing my son to open play here! read more

I'm surprised anyone would want to bring their children here. The place is not very clean at all. The toys are filthy and alot are broken. My kids love to visit this play place. The price is reasonable and it keeps them pretty busy the entire time. The Staff that help in the play area are very friendly with the kids which is great. However the front desk staff are the total opposite, a nice welcome would be great to hear when you walk in. They're just cold and unwelcoming. The ladies they previously had were a lot more pleasant. read more

We took our son here on a Wednesday morning 15 minutes after open play started. The entire parking lot was full, with minimal spots for treetop and the rest clearly marked for other businesses. The street parking was also full or marked no parking. My husband and I were so confused that I jumped out and went in to ask. I was told that there were three classes going on, minimal parking and the neighbors were not friendly. She said she never would have picked this space for this business. My husband was determined and eventual found a spot up the street. When we entered we found ourselves waiting inside a gift shop with baskets of little toys for sale everywhere. While we check in I have to deter my toddler from grabbing everything. The place was ok, more toys than any child needs really. Never going back again. You call yourself a school! read more

Cute idea place was cool...however all the children who attended my nephews birthday party got sick and they all have the same kind of cold....another thing I did not like was the bad attitude from the lady who was at the front desk...she seamed miserable and that's a reflection on the place because how are you going to hire someone who is miserable with poor customer service skills....I also thought the place had a funky smell. Also very expensive and rushed...they should have 2 hour time slots so we have more time and not rushed through the party. read more

I used to like this place, in fact had two of my sons birthday parties there. But after visiting there recently for open play, I was very disappointed. The carpet was so filthy and really needed to be vacuumed. My one year old played with toys and mouthed some which I quickly stopped him from doing . However, within 48 hrs he had a blazing fever and contracted coxsackie. He was not around any other kids or other peoples toys that week. Since then my older son got it and now I have it. My whole family got sick bc this place does not clean appropriately. I watched the very young staff just throw toys into their proper rooms when open play was over without disinfecting them at all. That is disgusting. When we used to go to Gymboree, they would put toys directly into disinfectant right after the kids were done with them. That's a lesson this place should have. Do not spend $12 per kid at this place, waste of time, u will regret it. read more

So funny because I was wondering how many starts this place was going to have and said to myself, I think three is accurate. It's a nice space and concept. My LO was about 21 months when I brought her and it was a little overwhelming. Crowded for a mid week afternoon- which was odd to me. They place area in the back was chaos with the bigger kids. My LO really just enjoyed all the different little tikes cozy coupe cars, police car and another I can't remember. I left feeling like the coat didn't make sense for what she did there. Maybe she was just too little or overwhelmed by the layout and all the people. It just wasn't a comfortable atmosphere is my overall take away. Oh and no staff anywhere to be found, which isn't okay. I'm not saying leave your kid and let staff watch them but if something happened there wasn't even one staff person around to call for help. Ehh, we will revisit at some point but I think I just had higher expectations. Hope this helps someone! PS I have a rather active kid and she wasn't as happy and tired as she is leaving other play type places. read more

I worked at OUATT for close to 4 years as their general manager. I was there from the grand opening and like to think I had a lot to do with helping it be the fun place it is today! That being said, I treated the place like it was my own and was always very sure the proper procedures were being taken to ensure a good/clean time for all. Recently I had gone back for the 2nd birthday party of my goddaughter and I must say, I was so happy to see not much had changed! They switched out a few of the rooms to "newer" and more updated ones and place looks brighter than ever! The staff were very attentive to the kids and the party leader knew exactly what she was doing. The front desk crew, including Patty were sweet and easy to approach. When the day comes that I have children, I hope they are still around for their birthday parties and open play! read more

I do not recomend this place. The play area for the children is one step up from a McDonalds or Burger King playground. The staff is only interested in nickel and dimeing you for everything than actually taking care of the customer. All in all a very unpleasent experience. read more

My daughter had her birthday here today and the staff was so terrible that my husband and I felt the need to post. There were 3 staff members that were with our party. Not one of them interacted with ANY of the children during playtime in the city/treetop area. The 3 of them stood in the back and talked the entire time. They then ended the play time 10 minutes early and had the children follow them to one of the rooms for food and cake. The tables were set with pizza and drinks for the children and as soon as the children were sitting the 3 staff members left and stood in the hall talking. My husband and I had to walk around bringing more pizza to the children that wanted a second slice, we needed to pour more drinks for them and get water for all of the children that did not want juice. One of the staff members then came in to sing happy birthday and cut the cake. I asked about a group picture and he said that it was supposed to be done in the treetop area (he forgot to arrange that when we were in there) and so now it would be too late for a group picture. We sang happy birthday, my daughter blew out the candles and then one staff member began passing out cake. Unfortunately there was no room to put the cake plates down for each child because none of the 3 staff members ever picked up the pizza plates. My husband and I as well as other parents ended up going around and clearing all of the dirty plates and dirty napkins off of the three children's tables so that the one staff member helping with cake could put down the cake plates. The two other staff members were still talking in the hall. The one staff member passing out cake then dropped cake on one of the little girls at the party. After it landed on her it fell to the ground. He never picked it up and he never wiped the floor that was then covered in frosting. After five minutes of it sitting there, I picked it up and wiped the floor so that no one would step in it or slip. The 3 staff members were terrible. The other parents at the party were appalled at the inattentiveness of each of the staff members assigned to the party. It was unacceptable. read more
