The Mid Island Y Jcc has had some events and does so throughout the year. One was Cassino night which was 50 dollars a person, including a game show, food and fun play at the tables. Last year they did a carnival for Purium on March 17th 2019. I am not sure if or how it went this year considering all that has been happening. But as time has flown by Im adding pictures* taken a year ago at their carnival event. This said, they do have a list of multiple and varied activities for many ages of people. They also have a beautiful pool along with a swim team. They have sign ups for membership, courses and activities of exercise, Spin, and more, at different times throughout the year. There is a small concession stand with snacks and a elegantly dressed lady selling beautiful things, It is to the side just after you have cleared the security guards always on duty there.

I have been coming here for several years now. This JCC is a great place for the community and especially for those with special needs. My son has autism and it is hard to find activities for him. The Adler Center at the Mid-Island Y JCC is for people with special needs. There are classes and activities during the week. My son attends the U Can Dance class on Thursdays and always has a great time! The staff are courteous and respectful to everyone. My son and I always look forward to Thursday night because of this class. There is respite available through OPWDD. We have used the respite and always have had a great experience. This is a great service for parents who have children with autism. The staff for this program are great and I appreciate all their hard work, effort and caring. The pool is great! There are 5 lanes for swimming laps and 2 lanes for open swimming. The pool starts off at 3 feet deep and goes down to 12 feet on tbe deep end. The pool is very clean and well maintained. The mens locker room, as well as the women's locker room, were renovated two years ago. Very nice set up with personal showers and tile flooring and walls. Changing area has many lockers, a tv, benches for changing clothes, a machine to drain the water from your swimming trunks and hairdryers. There is a work out room, basketball courts, a room for yoga and other fitness classes and even a cafeteria if you get hungry. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of parking including handicap spaces. We always have a great time here!

Just not a good place internally. Some people are very nice, some of the people higher up just care for their image.

There were plenty of dogs showing off with neat tricks and the place is spacious enough that it doesn't feel cramped. The kids go into a groups of 2-3 and takes turn going to sectioned areas to play with the trained pups. I was afraid that my daughter with eczema would have a scratching fit from the dogs, but they were all well-groomed and no odor at all. All the toys I touched didn't feel grimy and old. I can tell they take good care of this facility. A big plus is it's air conditioned and plenty of seats for the adults! Lots of times at kids' parties, the parents have to find odd things to sit on or stand, which is not a problem here. If you are looking to throw a birthday party, this is your place!

I searched online, found this center, and scheduled a session in the interim. I got to spend time with the sweetest dog, who snuggled up and hung out with me for the duration of my time there. It was perfect for me. Vicki and the dog's owner listened to my situation and offered suggestions and information for proceeding with obtaining an ESA dog of my very own. A second dog and his owner came by too and I was able to see them practicing in the agility/obstacle course pen and play with him as well. I haven't felt so relaxed in a long time, it really made my day. What a wonderful place and caring people!
