I really liked the different areas and how well organized each staff member was with supervision of the girls and incorporating different areas of the gym for the time spent. There is a area for inflatables (bounce houses), foam balance beam, jumping mats. The staff interacted great with the group and provided adequate supervision while the girls were on the equipment. I thought my daughter would have been afraid of heights and swinging, however she was confident, comfortable and had a great time. Once the girls finished in the gym, we headed over to their party room for Pizza, drinks and cake. The staff handled the party with ease and were exceptional. The host handed out her party favors and ended the party on time. I would have definitely added a star if the facility was renovated and more visually appealing. Overall, this is a great venue idea for a birthday party gathering. Simple to plan and a great time for the kids.

I recommended this facility to a friend of mine, as her son wanted to spread his wings at USDAN, so to speak. The "campus" has changed greatly since I was enrolled, however, it has only been improved. The studios where teaching had taken place, were now solid buildings and not merely the wooden huts that I remembered so fondly. They are probably more sturdy during the occasional heavy summer rain. You still need a map to navigate the heavily wooded grounds. I remember having an assembly on a daily basis, which often featured a well known talented performer. There is a daily swimming class, a lunch hour as well as time to dedicate to both your major and your minor. There was also ice cream served by the friendly staff at the end of every day, as you walked to the bus. The teachers were phenomenal. Each one was incredibly talented and well versed in his or her craft. This definitely contributed to creating an exceptional experience. Highly recommended.

I promise that I'm not exaggerating. In the most technical sense, it's a day camp. But more like a cross between a college campus and an artists' commune, it's anything but your average day camp. Campers/students, who come from all over Long Island as well as all five boroughs, have total control over their course of studies for the summer and on your typical day at Usdan, nestled within acres of woods you'll find kids (up to age 18) doing everything from welding jewelry, firing kilns, or wielding paint brushes, to singing/playing scales, dancing on pointe, or playing improv games in a acting class. It's a both a place to learn a new craft and to cultivate an already burgeoning talent. Aside from the fab programs (with wonderfully encouraging and professional teachers at their helm), Usdan stands out in its layout and design. Someone made the brilliant decision to take advantage of the sprawling physical environment of the campus, and the result is that none of the "classrooms" at Usdan have both four walls and a roof, allowing art to be entwined with the elements in a really neat way. Many have a distinctly tree-house feel. Trust me when i say that this makes the experience all the more enriching, not to mention fun. There's also a great big swimming pool, an essential part of any summer experience. One of the most exceptional parts of the Usdan experience is the daily mid-day concert that are a daily part of each camper's schedule. For the first half of the summer, campers are treated to performances by acclaimed professionals from all over the performing arts world. It was during such concerts that I enjoyed seeing both Yo Yo Ma and Savion Glover (!!), among many, many others. Trust me when I tell you this is amazing. Concerts during the second half of the summer are dedicated to student performances. Oh, and also, among a nice list of esteemed alumni you'll find Ms. Mariah Carey herself.

It takes some time to get here because of its secluded location but one thing I've noticed at least three times there have been police officers posted up right outside the exit and that make me feel safe. If you want to catch a nice sunset definitely come here, it's relaxing. Other people were posted up in their beach chairs solo with a book.

My son just finished his second summer at Kenwal. I don't live in the area but commute from Queens for work and I wanted a camp that would be close by with convenient early drop off and late pick up options. After asking friends, posting on FB, and my colleagues at work who live in the area, I decided on Kenwal and I'm so glad I did. The camp offers a large campus with a long list of activities for the kids. My son comes home exhausted every day and I know he's had a full and active day! If I were a SAHM I would probably not get to even half over the entire summer and certainly not with as much patience and enthusiasm as these counselors have! I love that they post pictures on their secure site so I can get a glimpse of what my son does during the day and that is priceless. I feel like I get to be a part of his experience. The staff are always helpful, smiling, and involved. I rarely see a counselor sitting on the sidelines while the kids are playing when I come to pick up my son or check out the videos and albums posted. The staff has been wonderful with me and my son and it is always fun to stop in the office and chat with them. One of my favorite things about this camp, is it actually feels like a camp. The kids are off their electronics, outside, in the pool, in nature, on obstacle courses, etc.. I feel like my son is getting a wonderful experience just as I did when I was a camp kid. We're signed up for next year already and I would recommend this camp to anyone!!! read more

Kenwal, Kenwal, Kenwal! Coming from a camp background as a child from sleep-away and days camps, the camp environment is in my blood! It is easy tell when a camp is not real and faulty, but Kenwal is far from it! I began to work at this camp in 2012 with the thought to leave during the next summer, but there is a certain pull the Kenwal has on you. Between the amazing campers, the friendly staff, and the family environment I can't stay away. Not to long ago I had a conversation with my co-worker and we both agreed to staying here as long as possible and raising our children here. During the off season I will most likely be out of state, but I will definitely be coming back here every year just to help out a smile on the face of these campers. I know that you personally, as the parent, had two meetings with our director and one meeting with Me. Let me tell you about how comfortable and smooth our transition was, into what the world of what day camp is all about! My family and I were new to the whole day camp experience. Not only were we hesitant to see our little girls leave for a portion of the summer... a few hours every day seemed like an eternity...But we were unsure of how they would adjust to a new place with new people. The staff was so welcoming and warm hearted. From the very first time we visited on a tour..... straight through the entire 8 weeks! What a relief my husband and I felt seeing how happy they were. The directors went above and beyond to put our mind at ease. The best part was we could "pop in" and visit whenever we wanted to come by and see the girls. Way to go Kenwal! From the second the buses pull in, the counselors and staff are excited and eager to make each campers day extra special! I have been at Kenwal for over 14 years and I can honestly say my experience at Kenwal keeps getting better! What can you say about a place that has Snow tubing, an arcade, bungee trampolines, 3 heated pools, a water park, 4 gaga pits, circus arts and more. I can say that the program for the Teen campers is amazing..... It is called Teen Extreme and they travel anywhere from 2 days 1 night to 4 days 3 nights on trips up and down the east coast. Some of the places traveled so far have been D.C,, Baltimore, Phlliy, and Lake George. I have never seen my son have more fun and have a countdown on his phone for the following year ever. Thank you Kenwal Day Camp for giving my son the best of both worlds, Day camp and Teen Extreme Travel program for a child that loves to be at camp and home as well. read more

Camp Kenwal has provided a fun, safe and enriched summer program for all 3 of my children. They started when they were so little... and grew right before my eyes with special friendships that were fostered at camp and held strong during the school year. The directors and owners of the camp demonstrate a love for what they do and it is remarkable how they pay attention to detail!! From knowing each camper by name, investing in continuous growth of the camp offerings and the upkeep of the grounds. I am a big fan of Kenwal Camp and ALL the head directors and staff. As a member of the Kenwal Day Camp family for many years I have only good things to say about camp. I have been both a staff member and a mother of 2 children who have been campers for 6 years. From the counselors to the owners, I see caring, warmth and the strong desire for every single camper to have the summer of their lives! Kenwal is the place where dreams are made, new friendships blossom and expectations are exceeded. Although my son has not attended Kenwal day camp yet as he is not old enough, it will definitely be my FIRST choice when the time comes. I know many people who send their children to camp there and the feedback from BOTH the parents and the kids is always positive. Exciting, fun, always something different to do are some of the things I hear coming from the kids. Safe, accommodating, peace of mind are common things I hear from the adults. There are a lot of choices on Long Island when it comes to daycare and in such a competitive field only those with great reputations not only survive but thrive. Kenwal has been around for four decades.... They LOVE the kids, they take care of the kids as if they were their own. The activities are taught by skilled instructors an 99.9 percent of the staff were campers there themselves. Kenwal is one big family. Inside of camp and outside of camp. The activities are endless and age appropriate. Kenwal doesnt run nursery schools or anything else off season SO.. the PRIMARY goal is to have an EXCELLENT and SAFE camp. Just want to say how grateful I am to Camp Kenwal and the staff that work there. My son went there as a teenager and had the time of his life. Making friends and loving all the trips. Now, he has worked there during the summer and Camp Kenwal can still be a part of his life. I would highly recommend this camp for all ages as they cater to every age group with the ability to meet the needs of each group. There can not be a camp that is more attentive to individual needs as Kenwal is. Both my sons grew up at Kenwal where they gained confidence, met great life-long friends, participated in dozens of activities and had many memorable summers. Both boys then went on to work at Kenwal. My older son wrote his college essay about a camper of his who was not the easiest of campers. Truly an amazing camp! They always do what is best for all of the children in the group! I know a camper in a group was asked to leave because he was THE bully, and the parents did not want to deal with it. In the end, everyone was better off (except the bully) and the parents wound up writing a less than positive review. Howie, my son was picked on from day one. Remember when another child threw his hat in the mud, or when he was pushed to the ground, or when a group of campers repeadetly called him stupid??? Oh and there was also that time when you employed not 1 but 2 child predators. Look it up people! And you have the nerve to say the safety of all the campers is your first priority... I think not! Wow! That is all I can say! I have spent 16 years at Camp Kenwal! I can't imagine doing anything else over the summer! The directors are awesome and truly care about all of the campers. There are so many fun activities to do and TONS of amazing trips to go on! I would recommend Camp Kenwal to anyone who wants to have a fun summer or who wants their children to have a fun summer!! One of the best…read moreparts of this camp is that all children have the opportunity to swim in an indoor olympic-size swimming pool every day with daily swim lessons. The pool is clean and well maintained. Our other favorite part of Future Stars Suffolk is the giant indoor air-conditioned sports arena that the children play in every day! I never have to worry about my children over-heating outside in extreme summer temperatures or miss playing sports and being active b/c it's raining outside. The large size of the arena is phenomenal and Future Stars sections it off for the different sports and age groups. All of the counselors at Future Stars Suffolk have been fun, friendly and attentive. The director is excellent, very visible and hands on and the entire office staff is always kind, prompt and responsive to any questions I have. We highly recommend Future Stars Suffolk!!!

I think it is extremely well run and organized. I never have any problems with communicating with director or counselors. My daughters LOVE this camp and look forward to it all year round! They swim in the pools every day, have different types of boats depending on ages, do all kinds of activities. My kids come home dirty and exhausted every day. I like the small group sizes, that is honestly part of what sold me on the camp! I dont worry about my kids being missed or neglected. The counselors remember them from years prior. It truly is a wonderful camp!

Such a camaraderie among the campers and staff of Camp Alvernia. My son has such a close bond with his group and they work together like a team. The sailing on the Centerport Harbor is unmatched. The campers truly learn how to sail and I believe the 5th graders are able to obtain a sailing license. The camp is set in the forest and the campers walk to their various activities like arts and crafts, swimming (free swim & lessons), nature, gaga, various sports, tennis by an instructor, dance, and more activities than I can list. Fairly priced and includes lunch & sailing. My son says it's magic. He has attended other well-known camps in the area, but this by far is his favorite! Camp Alvernia is a happy place & just epic!

Cathy was amazing with the entire registration process and our little one is thriving with Haley and Brianna. Morning drop offs is a breeze, there's never a question if there's enough room for your child that day in their regular room and it is consistent to help keep the child comfortable. Class size and safe attentive care were some positive selling points that stuck out to me as well. The teachers do a great job at uploading some pictures throughout the day as well so we can get a glimpse of what our little one is up to and seeing the bright smile on her face as she is learning, exploring and socializing is worth it ten folds. My child always came home so happy and has learnt so much. In addition to preschool they also offer summer camp which we have done multiple times and my child had so much fun each time. The staff are all amazing and send TONs of great photos thought the day on a regular basis. Highly highly recommend.

I enrolled my kid to this center because I trusted the fact that this center expanded the business in this area quite successfully. However, when I toured the center, I was not very happy when I looked at the faces of kids and staff. They didn't look very happy nor enjoy their job. Furthermore, I realized that this place is too pricey compared to the other daycares in the neighborhood. So in the end, I decided to withdraw my kid's enrollment. I visited the center and explained why I made such a decision. At that time the staff promised me that I would get a check for the first month's tuition, because, at the time of enrollment, I have already paid $150 + first month's tuition ($1195). Again, the staff told me that I can get it back and the reason why she cannot give it right away is because she does not have the checkbook. The staff talked about bad things about the school to which I am switching, which sounded not nice, but I did not take it seriously. She also mentioned that there was a policy that I should have notified them 45 days in advance, strictly speaking. I notified them 30 before the first day of school. So I understood that and I greatly appreciated their kind considerations. BUT, I did not receive the check for a month, and I have sent an email to remind that. The response I got was simple enough, "No, you cannot get a check. The owner decided not to do that." WHAT?? They just ate up my $1195 because I was late for 15 days to notify them. I can totally understand if they take out part of that money, but I cannot understand that they took all of it. Even more importantly, in that response, the staff mentioned that the owner called me and explained the situation. NO!! It never happened. The owner did not give me a call and I did not know the situation before "I" asked them. I courteously replied back if there is any possibility for a partial refund and explained that I have never received a call from the owner. That was it! They never responded back to me. I cannot trust their business. It seems to me that they only take care of their profits and tries to get out of money as much as possible. They never considered me as a future family even though I could send my kids to their summer camps or after-school care. I pass the center every morning and afternoon and see a lot of cars in there. Every time, I get very annoyed by their attitude to me, and I will never consider this place as one of my future childcare.

I enjoy waking up in the morning knowing that I am going to be surrounded by all of the children who are active learners and my colleagues who have become part of my family; The Greentrees Family. Our school coordinates so many fun things throughout the school year as well as during the summer camp months! As much as possible we photograph the activities and share with all the parents. Our school website includes many of these photographs! In addition, we keep an updated school calendar that includes special events and daily activities that occur throughout the school year.

Good communication, punctual and polite. Some of the staff are local Bellmore residents. They take care of my daughter as if she was their own. I really love the program and appreciate all that my daughter has learned so much in the past 1.5 yrs, educationally and socially. She was a Covid baby so it's nice to see how she has matured and grown thanks to the support of teachers and staff. They also offer a lot of additional support like camp during school breaks and mom / dad events. Make sure to check them out! Thank you South Shore!
