I honestly don't understand the bad reviews. When I arrived, a cashier greeted me. Everything was organized and sorted, easy to shop. The staff here are rude. The Ajax store is so nice and friendly and greet you as soon as you walk in the door. The people here make me feel so uncomfortable, like I'm annoying them by being there. Edit: Yes I'm aware you were closed when I wrote this review. I have shopped here both before and after the closures so I'm not sure what your point is aside from attempting to invalidate my experience. Usually I have a good experience here. Today I left angry, somehow embarrassed and honestly don't think I'll be back. I walked in with my hands completely full - activity table , box of neatly folded, freshly cleaned clothes and my toddler. When I got in the door I had no hands no carry the box so I was sliding it to the front desk with my foot. An employee with completely empty hands walked to me and said "just watch the floors, we don't want to scratch them" and walked away...still leaving me with full hands and no other way to get the box of clothes where it needed to be. After I looked at the floor already completely scratched all over the store? But my little box of clothes would apparently make a difference. So I tried to put my toddler down with her legs clenched around me begging me not to put her down and trying to get the box to the cash for them. A better response "oh here, let me grab that for you!". I'm literally boggled by that's how you greet customers? The lady I dealt with at the cash at the end, MUCH kinder and very pleasant to talk too. If you're hiring someone for this store, make sure they actually like people and know how to socialize with parents who normally always have their hands full. read more

First of all, I just started going to this store within the last six months to purchase items for my infant daughter. I assume it is 'post renovations'. The majority (4 I have seen) of staff there have been absolutely fantastic. Polite, helpful, personable. I've enjoyed my experience so much so that I have visited the store about 3 or 4 times since For the polite atmosphere and the good deals, walking away with about $500 in merchandise. Two weeks ago, after speaking with one of the staff, I even decided I would sell some of my son's items to them (even though I know I'd do way better financially selling privately). I was just really impressed with them. However, today, the day I brought my stuff in, i met a staff member that completely soured me to the point where I wont be going back. She is condescending, arrogant and well, bottom line, she made me feel like somehow she was doing me a favour by talking to me and even considering looking at my items. I ended up taking my 4 large bags of clothing of boys size 4 -6 clothing (including 10 pairs of brand new jeans) and cancelling the transaction solely because of her attitude. If the manager is reading this, I am speaking about the woman who was working this (Friday) afternoon. She has brown shoulder length hair, I'd say about mid-thirties or older. Please reconsider her position on your staff, I think it is fair to say she is hurting your business as the other negative reviews about staff I believe are directed only at this woman. read more

I've never in my life been to a store where the staff is so incredibly rude. The management needs to reconsider who they hired or send a secret shopper in there. They act as if they are selling elite items meanwhile it is a thrift store. The prices are not even that competitive. I can go on-line or even on Kijiji and find much better prices. My advice for anyone unless you enjoy being treated poorly GO ELSEWHERE!!!!! read more

Great prices and friendly staff! They are picky in what they purchase because they only want the best and the brand names since that is what sells. When I shop here I know that I won't have to inspect every inch of the item for stains or rips like other thrift stores. read more

I find prices to be very reasonable here. It's not an overly larger store, yet still has a good variety. Clothing is all rotated seasonally. Sometimes they have sales/deals so sign up to receive those notifications. read more
