I use to recommend this place to everyone but that's not happening anymore. Nor will we be coming back. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Update: I made a comment on the Facebook page they had about the experience (they have no leave a review option). They blocked my Facebook page and apparently others for expressing concers. So clearly they don't care about the customer experience. So ill be taking my concers about the customer service and the cleanliness to corporate. This is a business that doesn't value their customers time. I showed up from two county's away this morning to shop and was told at 11:00 they were open yet. I spotted at least 5 employees in the store with lights on. The fact that I couldn't even come in and start my shopping with my two children really put a bad taste in my mouth. This is not how you run a business. I know I'm just one small fish in a big pond but you will no longer receive my business. If I could give zero stars I would. One bin allowed per visit. A basket shelf fell off the wall hitting my 4 year old in the face, no one came over to see if she was ok. After waiting an hour and twenty minutes, even though the screen said 5-15min wait, I questioned the amount due to a Coach Diaper bag in the bin. $4 was what they offered for it. This place sucks & the employees suck more. wasted 3 hours of our time just to not take the clothes that were clean & nicely folded and never worn because the manager found a 'smell' when I asked why she said they weren't clean. This store has a very large selection of gently used kids clothes from premie all the to way bigger kids. A lot of these reviews are, in my opinion, unfair in most cases. I've always found the staff here to be friendly and helpful. Babies grow so fast I see no point in shopping new. So my wife and I will come here as long as we can. Ive even gotten some things with their original tags on them for way less than regular price. Ive never sold anything here. That said, Goodwill wont give you anything for your used clothes at all. went there today, to sell some clothes that my child barely even wore or never got to wear and they sent me back with more than half of what I came in with. The reasoning was because they didn't take the brand and there was stains but all the stuff was brand new or never even worn. It's a hit or miss with this place, buying wise you can sometimes find some good pieces + deals as well. However, selling wise I wouldn't recommend this OUAC.. you can bring in several bins and only be offered a small fraction of the worth of the items you have. My only experience with this location is as a buyer, not a seller. If you want to resale, read other reviews. Went to this location while visiting relatives after my sister-in-law bragged about the deals her daughter found. Store was as expected, typically OUAC layout and feel. Found a Puree Squeeze Pouch maker originally from Buy Buy Baby (Retail $25) brand new, never used for $7.50. And they had racks of clothes and toys on clearance for 50% and even $1. If you'd buy toys at a garage sale, condition is no different and sometimes better. May return next time we visit, I was happy with my finds. :-) read more

Before I started to write this review, I went to Yelp to check how other people were rating Once Upon A Child. I was surprised people gave low rate to this place. I found this place was actually pretty cool. I don't usually buy used clothes for my baby, but for baby's toys or whatever to assist a baby to grow up faster, the tools usually don't last very long, and babies grow up, move on different things / tools/ toys. It is pretty wasteful to get brand new one all the time. Therefore, I started to visit this shop for better ideas. First, the shop tries to clean up before selling out, I am impressed. Then the shop always double checks whether stuff they sell is in a good condition. I've never seen yet broken pieces or condition isn't safe enough for displaying. And if you are wondering whether your baby gonna take the toys, just bring the baby with you to try out, people work in the shop are happy to assist all the time. The last one is, You can always put your wish request. As soon as the items you look for are in the store, the employees will check the wish list and call you for first viewing. I found this shop is really thoughtful for their customers, and it helps me to save money. Oh, and remember to get a card to collect the stamps for small dollar amount off later as your baby's rewards! read more

I have shopped here for kids items since 2006 and today was the day I realized where all the negative reviews come from. The store is great, it's the customer service that severely lacks. After waiting for checkout I'm told to go the the checkout here sign with my big bulky item and 5 year old so I do and I'm the only person in line. What do they do, check out a couple who haven't been waiting with a basket full. Multiple employees saw me and never once offered help. Not dealing with these people anymore. I have sold here a few times and I always feel I am waisting my time lugging boxes in and out of the store . Today I went there with a box of boy clothing. I was told a few days ago when I was there that they are only taking sets of clothing. So when I showed up today I made sure I had the sets all put together and ready for them. They go through the clothes in 5 minutes then tell me they can't accept them because I pinned them together with a safety pin! Complete crap. My time is too valuable. They told me next time to just fold them together . I told the clerk there I would not be back. The return on investment there is a rip off. I feel sorry for the many families that count on this place for money and means to clothe their children. I have a different financial situation and can afford to shop elsewhere and buy my children new clothes and not need to sell them. My recommendation to people now is to sell their clothes on facebook or donate to Goodwill and write it off on their taxes. Leave Once Upon a child alone . We tried this store today out of curiosity. To my surprise it's a huge store with a variety of baby clothes and toys. BUT to warn you in advance .. TOTAL WASTE TO BRING CLOTHES IN EXCHANGE FOR CASH. Had a huge box of baby clothes just to get just about everything right back . They chose I think 3-4 items. Mind you majority either wasn't worn at all with tags or barley worn . I bought a stroller from Once Upon A Child in Savannah a couple years ago for eighty dollars. I actually only used the stroller for about eight months. Brought it in to sell it back. They told me it was too dirty. The stroller looks just like it did when they sold it to me. It's not dirty at all. The fabric as worn in places and slightly discolored from wear and friction (just as it was when they first sold it to me). I actually cleaned the stroller from top to bottom before I brought it in. 1) I'll sell the stroller on craigslist. 2) I'll never give OUAC another dime. read more

This particular Once Upon a Child is not worth visiting. While there is plenty of clothing at fair prices, the staff is endlessly weird and obnoxious. The elderly woman who seems to be in charge runs the shop as if it's an exclusive fashionable boutique in Beverly Hills, looking down on those who enter. Look lady you work at a consignment shop in a strip mall. Humble yourself and check the 'tude. You are one step above goodwill. The labeling of the clothes makes very little sense and finding clothes to fit your child is reminiscent of a quest for Mayan treasure. There are much more courteous consignment shops in the area and I'll frequent those as opposed to this circus sideshow. read more

I normally do not write reviews but I am still in shock on how rude and disrespectfully my experience was at this once upon a child. I carried my things in to sell in a plastic bin, signed in, and walked around the store looking for items to purchase. When I noticed our name on there screen after about 15 mins my husband and I approached the register to check out. The older white lady (who might be the manager or owner) cut me off as I was telling her my name just to ask me my name. Then she grabbed my bin and TOSSED it on the floor. (It was very light and completely unnecessary to throw it on the floor like that) There was a lady and her son standing nearby who looked at the bin then looked at me very shocked and confused. My husband who was embarrassed quickly picked up the bin and took it to the car. I continued to check out with the lady as she further spoke aggressively with me. I was completely shocked and confused. Like did I do something to her? Does she think she knows me from somewhere? I will NEVER return and I will tell others to stay clear as well. read more

I went here today to bring in three bags of clothes boys and girls and all the clothes with most of them still having tags on them they tried to tell me they were stain on them or faded. The workers we're rude and they rolled they eyes at me more than once. This place has the rudest staff. They don't tell you the policy has changed and you are now expected to stay in the store. Then you tell them nobody explained that to you, they basically call you a liar. They also just throw whatever they don't want back into your bin like waste even though they were folded prior to them looking at them. The business has really gone down after the move to Eisenhower, I buy my daughters accessories here quite often. I sell to them about twice a year, and my last two experiences have been just awful! The staff is rude, and management is no better. They say they have new owners That have enforced new rules about waiting with your items. If the staff becomes more efficient in picking the items then I wouldn't mind waiting and shopping while I'm there, but to wait in a store for hours on end is ridiculous. This store has the rudest staff member I've ever encountered. I wish I could say maybe she was having a bad day but every time I've gone in there for the last two years she is so rude that I almost think it's a prank. This woman should not be interacting with the public at all. She makes you feel very unwelcome and is extremely condescending. Over the last visit I picked up at that her name is Tonya. I went into the store to sell some items I was called back in to pick them up they said they wanted to purchase the items but they smelled like smoke to please wash them and bring them back which I thought was odd bc no one in my home smokes. I went home washed all the items and returned the next day ( I live 45 minutes away ) just to be told that the items need to be washed in gain bc they smell like smoke!! I think that is total bs many of these clothes still had the tags on that I had to remove to wash the 1st time they told me this honestly they are a waste of time. read more
