Very large store with great selection! Very organized clothes and many toys. Always something new! Would recommended!!

The new owners (few years now) are so nice! the staff is always friendly and helpful. they let you know why they pass on items. we enjoy browsing while they go through our items. Everything is looked through in a timely manner. read more

Clothing seemed fine, but a lot of the items did seem pricey for second hand. The reason I give a poor review is due to the lack of customer service. It was my first visit so I was not aware of how to be most efficient. The one staff member who was the friendliest did swiftly explain how to do after I walked up and asked. My sister came to help me de bag my clothes, as they will not accept anything in a bag. When she came over the other woman rolled hers eyes as much as she could and grumpily explained where my sister should be. Later I came back to see if it was almost done, as I had to head east to Geneva within 5 minutes. Woman helping me said it would be about 5 minutes and again was friendly enough. I walked around for over 5 minutes and came back, then made the mistake of making eye contact with the other staff member who very rudely asked " did we call you or something?" With a huge attitude as if I should not be around the register area if I have not been asked. I get it, we all hate our customer service job, but it is a job, don't treat you customers like crap. read more

I went in yesterday for my first and only visit. I was not greeted, was not addressed, was not even acknowledged - now I get that I'm not a Kardashian and this isn't Bergdorf's but when trying to run a business customer service (ahem attention to pulses) is mildly important. Now second this is a resale store concept / and I'm sure they pay folks a FRACTION of what they then resell baby items for - these are our first children (twin boys due in only a few short months) so I have been trying to find great deals - this place did not have those. Example: Carters 9 month plaid shirt style onesie $7.50! Online right now I can get a brand new one for $8. So where is the benefit here? Second example: Baby side "sleeper" sort of a bassinet - listed for $120! Not a typo. The benefit of second hand is generally saving money - feeling you found a deal - not feeling like you suddenly were made invisible (which is hard when right now I feel like I have my own planetary alignment lol). I will never go to any once upon a child store again - I spent more round trip on gas than what they offered me in compensation for the items I brought; a couple of my items were designer brand like Ralph Lauren polo items for boys; I brought in a pair of pants that have never been worn with the actual tags still on it and all they offer me was a little over $3 for two items they decided to keep - insane read more

I've reluctantly been to Once Upon a Child in Mentor, OH several times just because there really isn't a good option for reselling good kid's clothing. Customer service is non-existent. You are told to wash, launder, fold, etc. all items. Items can only be in laundry baskets or bins--no bags. Then you are told that they can't look at your items now and you can come back in a few hours. When the items are returned to you, they have been simply rummaged through with no regard. You are told "We will pay you $_.__ for your items. There is no listing of what they took or didn't take, no itemized account of items, nothing. They give vague reasons why some things "weren't appropriate." Total rip off! read more

Great place to find bargains! I just spent $30 for 3 really nice winter coats for my children. I would have spent more than that for just one new coat elsewhere. Fair prices and good quality. Highly recommend checking this place out before buying new. read more

Staff is rude and abrupt. I would not do business here if the inventory was free. Tired items way overpriced for seconds.

The store is crowded and in disarray- it's bordering on a fire hazard. The most recent change of ownership has led to lower quality clothing and product being sold at higher prices- I saw clothing with stains for sale today. Also, the sales people are unable to communicate to the customers what the sales of the day are- after telling me what the clearance sale was this afternoon, the sales person had to recant the information- which would have quadrupled what I (and many others in the store) was spending, had I chosen in the end to still make my purchases. This store used to be clean and well run- it used to be a reliable source of gently used children's clothing sold for a fair price. None of those things are true now. read more

This store is not such a great deal as a buyer. I get much better deals at Gabriel Brothers, eBay and Children's Place. As a seller, I was totally insulted just like the previous reviewer. I brought in a bin of clean, gently used clothing and they only accepted a few items. I was told my items were too old. She told me she knew how old they were ,because she had worked there for eight years. Too bad they don't have the sense to keep their buying and selling customers happy. My thought was, if your not going to buy from me, I'm not going to buy from you. Too bad ,cuz I was a good customer, especially when my kids were very young. Dropped off clothes for review and waited for them to call me back. 5 days later I called and they could not find my clothes and then said they called me several times (which I never received a call back from anyone) Then told me I needed to come and get what they did not take. I was higly disappointed in the customer service I received and of the fact that I was told my clothes where to worn when they where in perfect condition compared to some items I seen in the store for sale. I would not suggest this place at all. They are very "selective" towards certain people who they will accept clothes from. Also after going through my bags they just threw all my nicely folded clothes in the bag and had them sitting next to the door for anybody to take and never once inform me at all that they was done. Very unprofessional customer service. I was willing to come back here to buy a few things but after that customer service I will never waste a penny here, nor will I suggest anybody to waste they time to try to sell here. read more

They do not deserve any stars! I have been here several times and their items are inconsistently marked. But more so as a mother of 2 I have sold items to this store. When other reviewers say the associates there are rude - they are correct! No one knows how to say hello or thank you. More importantly they undercut you for what items are worth. I had a brand new Carhart outfit that had the TAGS still on retailing at $29.99 along with several other same items with tags - I would say over 10 items. When I went to pick up the items they said they would give me $12...seriously - they just more than tripled their profit. When I questioned it the lady just kept saying "Sorry, you can either take the money or take your stuff" Needless to say I am taking my stuff. Not worth the hassle...I could sell it for more in a garage sale!! DO NOT SHOP AT THIS BUSINESS!!! read more

Had three bags of clothes to turn in for them to tell me how much money they would give....and I got stopped at the door that I wasn't allowed to bring in bags of clothes because that's policy. So after driving 30 minutes to this location I will never go back here again. Best part is I have gone to stow location several times with bags of clothes and they took them with no problem. It's no wonder stow has a bigger better selection! read more

I went in today to sell some girls size 8 and 14 items (Old Navy, Levi's, Justice, etc. which are in great condition, some items never worn with tags still on them) and as soon as I walked in the female associates sighed out loud like oh my gosh we have to go through those! She then proceeded to tell me that they don't really buy any items on Sunday's (which is not mentioned on their website) and that the sizes I had don't move very quickly so they really weren't interested. A little irritated, I just told them that I would take my items somewhere else where they would be appreciated! They were more interested in chit chatting with one another than doing their job. Very rude! They should be called Once Upon a Nightmare, not Once Upon a Child. Don't bother wasting your gas, this place is certainly NOT worth the trip! read more

I'm not sure why I am surprised at the service we received today. We walked in the door and were greeted with glares and "put those there no sigh there" directions barked at my 9yo. I explained to my 9yo on the way there how we were helping people by taking toys there. I have never felt so disrespected and ashamed in my life. The toys were clean and working and current. The woman acted as if we were filth. We will donate from now on to know we are truly helping. This store used to employ caring staff I'm not sure why they changed. read more
