This is a great place to shop for your kiddo who is always growing at this age! You'll find tons of clothes and some nice toys here. The staff usually stays out of your way but is super helpful if you have questions. Nice clothes for good value. It's in a commercial area with lots of other businesses so parking is not a hassle. The toughest thing is that shoes and seasonal things like snow boots go quickly so you need to know when to shop here to find that kind of stuff. read more

The older woman was incredibly rude, basically yelled at me because I asked a question about their sale going on... she was working on folding a pile of buy back clothes which I understand, but taking 10 seconds to answer a customers question when I was the ONLY one in the store and you had two other employees is not that difficult. I sold and bought toddler clothing and items here today. I'm a semi regular shopper at OUAC, going about 3 times a year, but this was my first visit to the Longmont store. I came in with an overstuffed box of clothes and they took about half of it, which they gave me about $30 in store credit for. I think the number of items was about 30, so yes, it's probably only about $.50-3.00 purchase price for most things. That adds up though, and for me it was $30 today. Not bad for clothes that my toddler can't wear anymore. I called before I came and knew that I'd only be able to have store credit and that it would take a few hours before they'd have my purchase available. I shopped for about an hour, finding plenty of quality summer clothes for my little guy. I bought Carters, Jumping Beans, Old Navy, Gap, and some good looking non name brand clothes. My total was about $50 worth of clothes that mostly look brand new. It included 2 pajama sets, 2 athletic short and top sets, 2 short and shirt sets, 6 shirts, and a cute ABC board game. As a shopper on the points program I'd luckily earned enough points for a 20% off coupon today. So between my coupon and store credit, my purchase price was only $2.18. I'm pretty thrilled. The store was clean, the ladies seemed nice the little I interacted with them, and I was pleased with my experience. It made the 20 min drive there completely worth it. read more

Super unprofessional place. They have a sign outside that says they accept children's items. Went to go drop off some stuff and the people behind the counter acted like they didn't even see me when I asked them where I could put down the items WHILE I WAS CARRYING MY CHILD. They didn't even look at me while they said "we can't accept that because then we would have to check them close to closing time" i don't know why this company has so many posters saying to bring in your used stuff if they don't even take it. Not only that but they are ridiculously picky with what they accept. Just save your time and go somewhere else. Customer service is trash. read more

I am so disappointed in the customer service at Once Upon A Child. I went in at 4:12 pm and they said that they closed at 5....? Sorry, but that is NOT how you word it. I get they have things to do to shut down shop and close but come on. I was okay with it and decided to go back the next day at 1 PM. They then said that they were not taking anything else for the day. I decided to still leave the awesome designer clothing and they had 4 hours to go through it.. No such luck. I'd say there needs to be employee's that want to work and not be rude. I will be contacting the owner because this is just ridiculous. What a waste of time. I am Boycotting this store. read more

My review is from a buyer's point of view. I've never sold anything to them, I prefer to donate. What I don't like: First thing you need to know is that most items are way overpriced for being second hand... especially toys/books/DVDs that can often be found same price or cheaper on Amazon. I can tell that the ladies who work there are generally nice, however, there is something about them that leaves me feeling awkward. I think that they are normally super focused on their task, that helping customer's is kind of inconvenient at times. However, I should give a shout out to the young girl who works there who dyes her hair pink and other cute colors. She is ALWAYS super sweet. What I like: Every time I go, I always leave with a few items and my total is never over $15. They have amazing prices on T-shirts, tanks, pants, shorts, skirts. Normal prices are $2-5 each. I even shop for myself in the "Big girl" section, LOL! I highly recommend coming here for summer clothes! Some people who sell complain that they are super picky about what they buy, but for me, as a buyer, that is a good thing. I love the fact that all the clothes are so clean and in great condition. Lastly, they are VERY organized. Everything is in order by size and then by category. Overall, I give this place a good review! I come in at least once a month. read more

Not impressed at all. I just moved to town from out of state and brought in a bag of clothes to sell. The lady at the desk laughed when I set my bag down and said "We don't take bags. Only boxes. This sign (a piece of paper taped on the counter) has been up for weeks! We can't help you." I explained that I just moved to town and didn't know about the sign, but she didn't respond. It was both embarrassing and frustrating since there wasnt a sign outside so I wouldn't waste my time. Anyways, while my son and I were leaving, she belted out "Bye!" Apparently they have changed their policies where they do not give you cash for your items unless you are the first 20 through the door when they first open. So now you have to wait in line in the morning to get cash unless you want a store credit. I suspect they will lose a lot of customers this way. They just lost me. read more

It may be awhile before I shop or exchange at Once Upon a Child again. The last several times I've been in the store, the staff has been extremely rude to me and they take FOREVER to review and accept items. Most recently, they told me my newly washed clothes had an odd smell (that neither me nor my husband could discern--maybe it was the horrible and toxic off-gassing from their new carpet!) and so couldn't take anything. I also agree with another reviewer that they give a very paltry sales price, even on items that are in excellent condition--including stuff that I've previously purchased from them! Compare this to my experience at Shop Kids consignment just around the corner where they are friendly, willing, and generous. read more

Ok, I know this company is part of a franchise and therefore needs to stick with certain sales quotas/margins on their inventory, but this place is a rip off. I'd rather spend the money to buy name brand than to mess with their high pricing. Every now and then I find a good deal because their store attracts certain value items, but generally I feel that the staff is rude, the prices high, and the inventory lacking. It's too bad because I feel that the store could offer a lot of potential to local families, but it's clear that the shop has lost sight of customer service in favor of financial gain. I sure hope that the store managers begin to understand the value of customer service before their online/word-of-mouth reputation is tarnished forever. I've both bought and sold baby and kid's items at this location. My main complaint is the amount of time it takes them to buy your items. On my last visit it took nearly three hours. They are so picky that they never buy much... I always plan on stopping by on a day I have errands to run since they do let you leave the store. (You just have to come back by the time they close.) Don't expect to make a lot of money selling your clothes with them, but some money is better than no money. Some of the items are overpriced but there are deals to be had, especially during a sale. I found my son a pair of cleats for $1.00 this spring. In short, don't expect much. I've never had an experience that would keep me from coming back though. read more

I took a lot of VERY nice infant/toddler things in today to sell, from pack and plays...infant seats..rockers and toys. I was blown away disappointed at the result of the cash I received. You know, for a business that sells second hand goods to help someone in need, today was pretty obvious that they are in business to make a buck. Sadly and incredibly disappointed in their credibility. I will never do business with them again. Nor will I buy one thing from them. I understand a Sat AM is not an ideal time to take things for sell but we did ask prior to going in since we had a small tote and 2 LARGE totes of gently used, freshly laundered kids clothes. They had someone available. One tote they didn't even look at except what was one the very top. 2+ hours and 3 less than nice employees later offer was less than $20 and less than a basket full of clothes were acceptable. The employee responsible for accepting items took forever to sort through items and then was harping on the other employees that they needed to clear thinks out and make room. Needless to say they do have SOME good deals but I do not think we will be shopping there in the future. This Once Upon A Child does not even compete with the location in Littleton (close to our old neighborhood) where I never had a bad experience. read more

Went to once upon a child again today only to be treated worse than I was the 1st time I went. I tried to adhere to their policy of no clothes in plastic bags and even brought in a few old toys as well this time only to be treated even more rudely and to encounter more ridiculous policies. Now, don't think about dropping off your stuff and coming back to finish the transaction because if you don't come back within the allotted time... I was informed they "donate" (probably to themselves) all of your stuff and your basket, and they STILL dont buy anything. They still only give you trade. Also, unless you have the basketball with the goal, they won't take it. How stupid can you be, honestly? Shame on me for trying to play nice with this business. NEVER AGAIN. I SKEEVE THIS PLACE. HOW IT STAYS IN BUSINESS ILL NEVER UNDERSTAND. PROBABLY FROM ALL THE SCAMS THEY RUN LIKE, "DONATING" ALL YOUR STUFF WHEN YOU DON'T MAKE IT BACK IN TIME. JOKE. read more

Meh. They take forever to look over any children's clothes you have and even premium brands like Patagonia, Abercrombie, Polo, or North Face will only fetch you garage sale prices like fifty cents to a buck an item. So as a place to unload your kids clothes its value is mostly in the recycling/reuse. Takes them forever (hours) to look anything over and then they'll offer you pennies on the dollar. Not really worth the time. Much more attractive as a place to buy clothes for your kids than a place to repurpose your own kids clothes as you can find sometimes great deals. Its hit or miss, but always enjoy shopping there. The staff members can be disinterested in helping customers, its not a five-star Resort, and more interested in talking to each other. I've actually overheard an employee blatantly refuse to help a customer, saying she was "too busy." I shook my head, it is what it is. There seems to be a culture there that the job would be okay if it wasn't for all the customers. read more

My last trip to Once Upon A Child was to take toys to sell. I was told that I couldn't leave while they were going through the stuff and that it would take 45 minutes. While I found this policy inconvenient I understood why since they do have limited space. Being there allowed me to watch the lady as she sorted through my things. I noticed that she placed many items (including a very expensive Barbie CD Player/ Dual Microphone) into the basket without adding it to my list of items they were purchasing. I just thought I didn't understand their process so I didn't say anything. They kept A LOT of my items (I would guess that I paid about $350 new) and told me they could offer around $16. I was shocked! I asked if that included the bike and she informed me that she forgot to add that to the list and that she could offer me $6. I told her the bike was in excellent condition and I paid over $100 for it this past summer. She said that they would not be able to sell it for more than $15. This was simply not true as I saw the same bike, different color, sitting out front of their store for $45. And it wasn't because they didn't need bikes since they only had a few. Feeling a little taken advantage of, I then asked if I could see my list of items and how much they were paying me for them so I could decide if it was worth it. The lady told me that she could show it to me but that I couldn't leave the store with it due to franchise policy. Strange, but whatever. She went to the computer to print it out and then told me that the computer froze and I couldn't see it. I then asked how much they wanted to pay me for the CD player since I would rather keep it than sell it for nothing. She then told me that she could pay me $2.84 for it!! I told her that I paid over $60 for it and my daughter had never played with it. She said they couldn't sell it for more than $8. Again, simply not true! I walked around the store while I was waiting and was shocked at how much they were charging. They charge almost the same as you would pay for the items new. After this experience I find the company to be less than ethical. They "forgot" to add at least two of the items to my ticket, could show me how much they were offering me for each item, and then offered me next to nothing for the items claiming that they can't charge much for them. Another issue I have with them is their policy to not take any items that aren't totally wiped down and clean. I spent about 3 hours getting my stuff ready to sell to them and I was offered $16!! This is a place where you buy things used. You take them home and clean them so why do the sellers have to spend so much effort getting the items in perfect condition? So not worth the effort. In short, I will not be shopping there again nor taking my items in to sell. read more

When I left I was absolutely furious. After waiting an hour and a half for them to look at my stuff (I was second in line when I walked in and they took the guy behind me first because he had some furniture, They spent about 40 minutes looking for recalls on that guys items before looking at mine) So after my hour and a half they offered me just over 9 dollars even though I had already brought the stuff in a couple days earlier having been told that they like all my stuff and want it but I needed to wash it before they could purchase it. One day they like all my stuff then next they like 4 things. Complete waste of time. Bethany was completely snooty and obnoxious. I will never patronize this place again. read more

I have never been treated so poorly! I'm a new mom and have never done business with Once Upon a Child so naturally I did not know the rules. The lady was extremely rude but she explained the rules, sort of. Also for the few items I brought it took over 90 minutes to process, as it seemed playing with their hair or gossiping was more important. Once they were finally done they provided a minimal offer and refused perfectly good clothes stating the clothes were stained or wrinkled. The best part was most if the refused items had had never been worn or used! When I asked why some items were refused she muttered something under her breath. Let's just say I will never return and will discourage anyone from doing business with them. read more

When I walked in I was really amazed. It is huge as it took over the old tattoo/piercing/tanning salon along with the liquor store next door. It is really organized for how much stuff they have. They have a TON of baby, toddler & kids clothing. I was even amazed to find so much in larger sizes and a large selection of say size 4-6. Usually kids wear a ton of these sizes out. About half the prices are fair, and the other half are pretty high. For Example, size 3T that I am currently looking into for my daughter, jean pants and jean shorts start off at $4.50. I can find them at least half this price at kids sales. It is definitely worth going in this place and I plan to try to make it there once a month to get a few items for m daughter. You won't find steals, but you will find decent prices. All I really looked at was clothing, so I can only comment on the pricing of that. They do have all your baby needs, toys, equipment, books, etc. UPDATE: I went back to this place 2 weeks later to get my daughter some summer pj's (short sleeve w/ shorts, nightgowns, or short sleeve w/ pants) and I was looking in size 2T that my daughter is currently in & size 3T. They had nothing but fleece sleepers left in both sizes. They must have gotten hit hard with all the warm weather that just starting coming in. They were also only completely wiped out of shorts & short sleeve tops in size 3T. They only had about 6 shirts and about 10 pants of jean shorts/skirts. A ton less than the first visit. They were working on marking stuff to 20% on my visit...but were only at 2T size. So all of the 3T items I purchased for my daughter, if I would have waited a day they would have been marked down due to being out of season and such. Guess I was just a little too early. **What I mainly wanted to note is that I dealt with about 4-5 employees the whole time I was there. Either taking in a few items to sell, purchasing, trying to locate items, etc. Out of the 5 employees, only 1 was nice. The other 4 women were really, really, really rude. The only one that was nice was the cashier who checked me out. Not sure if I will be going back. A little bummed because you can actually find a few things for a decent price. Usually I like coming in to see if there are any items I can get for a little cheaper then buying new and I love their deals on onsies for the babies; however, I went to buy some items on clearance, thought they were a dollar, but after I took then home realized they were only 50% off. I brought them back to the store and I was told clearance sales are final nothing they could do. Come to find out, if the girl at the cash register would have told me, they were only a dollar each if I bought 5 items. A little discouraged with this store now. I went here some time last year and I had to wait about 40 minutes. I went recently and literally the wait was 5 HOURS. Not even exaggerating. It was thankfully my day off from work so I was able to leave and come back, but still not very convenient when you don't live in Longmont. The staff is not friendly or welcoming. I probably stood there for a good few minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. This visit was "worth" the measly $20 I made because I was just going to donate the clothes I had anyway. This store may not be as nicely organized as the ones I was used to in California, but it had some killer deals on kid clothes and an AWESOME selection of toys! We got some true steals here. Our son is happy, so I'm happy. :) I'd recommend this place, especially if you're in the market for any kind of baby GEAR especially. They had like 23098089234 bouncer seats when we went. All at good prices, too, and most looked very gently used. I haven't tried selling anything here yet, so my review is only for the buying aspect. Works for me! read more

Loved it! All consignment stores are picky, and that means better clothes to choose from in the end. They were no more selective than other consignment stores I've visited. I was so excited get paid immediately, instead of most places where you never know for months if your items sold, & then usually forget irregardless, and never get paid anything. The staff were friendly, explained the process, and I love how they take all seasons all the time! I always have clothes to get rid of that are "in the wrong season" for other stores. If there was a way to give them no stars I would. I had one of the ladies help me from the car with one of my boxes. After bringing my small child into the store with a few other items another lady proceeded to tell me that I have to come back that day to pick up my items and cash or store credit. When I told her it was impossible for me to get back today I could come back in the morning they told me that that was unacceptable and that I had to take store credit if I come back tomorrow. They told me to hang around town until after 2 o'clock when it was9 AM. After going back-and-forth for a few minutes the lady then told me I'm not allowed to sell there. Which made no sense because I didn't do anything wrong. I explained to her that I don't live close to to them. I did make it a point to explain that I called and asked what their policy was and they said to bring everything in and they give cash on the spot. They did not tell me that I had to leave my stuff for a day and then come back by the night time to pick everything up. I am warning everybody don't go there. Don't bother consigning here. I chose all brand name clothing to bring in (Nordstrom shoes worn once, brand new sweater, etc.) They took 12 items and gave me $12.00! And it took 3 hours for them to look at my clothes. Plus the amount of time I spent laundering and carefully folding just as they request. It's just not worth it. From now on I will take my kids outgrown clothing to the OUR Center, where it will be given to kids in need. read more

Beware! This store is unsafe! My 20 month old and I were in there today and I let him walk behind me for a second and in that time he looked at a book on a shelf and the whole thing came down on him. The shelf was not secured in any way(though it would've been easy to do). He has bruises on his face and a gash in his knee. We are going to the doctor today but wanted to let everyone know this place is not safe! They are grossly overstocked so it's hard to even walk up and down the aisles. And neither the quality of clothes or the prices are worth your time! The employees couldn't have cared less. This place deserves every bad review it has received. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

It is super overpriced for being second hand. There has also been plenty of times where there's items with the original price sticker that was sold for less than they are pricing it. As a seller they offered me $1.50 for Michael Kors tennis shoes something that will probably price at $10. Multiple people have told me they don't bother to come sell because they never buy their items or offer almost next to nothing and it's easier to just donate it. As a buyer I've also noticed that some of their clothes are not in the best condition which makes me wonder why they were bought. Super scuffed up shoes, ripped dresses, stained shirts etc. I have gotten some shoes at a good price which is the reason for the 2 starts instead of 1. Their customer service is horrible, a whole bunch of high school girls who are too busy chit chatting or hiding to want to notice you even when they directly look at you. Yes if I am standing in front of the registers with items then that usually means I'm ready. I hate coming here!!! read more

I have been buying from the Longmont Once Upon a Child for several years. I think their prices are reasonable. We are talking used clothes store after all, not garage sale, not thrift store. They seem to purchase items only in very good condition and I often find clothes that don't appear to be worn at all. We can almost always find any type of baby gear, books and toys we are looking for as well. I've never really notice andy dingey looking clothes but sometimes see things that are slightly pilled and they are always priced lower than something comparable in very good condition. read more

The people that work there are EXTREMELY rude, especially the older blonde, and I got banned from the store for telling her so. I got a swing there for my baby and once trying to put batteries in it I noticed there wasn't a spring to hold the battery in, and so it doesn't work. They're over priced for a consignment store and their products that they do that don't work. I have not had one positive experience here, buying OR selling. read more
