Only rating as a seller, I've never purchased anything there. The team members are rude, but also their offers are ridiculous. I've had several items that are high end brands that "aren't in their system". Same with dance and sports brands. If the item isn't in their system they offer literal pennies. read more

Inconsistent policies and poor customer service. I was given multiple conflicting reasons for rejecting items, and the staff's attitude was dismissive and unprofessional (including eye-rolling). What stood out most was being treated noticeably differently than other customers who were greeted warmly. That contrast made the experience uncomfortable enough that I won't be returning. read more

Had to come on here as well since the want to fake their reviews rude staff. They sit there talking down/judging the clothes loud enough for other customers to hear. Totes of clothes literally everywhere the day I went then posted a review on google but same day 2 individuals with the same last name with almost identical praise. It's pathetic they need to stoop so low to fake reviews. They show how much they care by how they speak to you, perhaps it was the color of my skin, how I present myself, my tattoos but that doesn't make me any less of human or mother. Maybe that's why once upon a child is constant having to hire new individuals since their staff is so terrible. Again I'd rather not earn a dime then the $7 they would have gave me for the clothes that I truly don't need. All around this is a joke of an establishment. read more

I dropped off a tote for them to look through and they gave me $2 for what they wanted. I honestly don't think they even went through the tote. It had some brand new stuff in there and they said they didn't take most of the stuff because it was worn. I looked at the stuff on their racks and my clothing I brought in was in much better shape. I also reviewed their website and did not see any rules regarding size of totes you could bring in. I showed up with a 24 gallon tote and couldn't drop it off cause it was too big. They seem a little too picky to me, or they are just too busy to go through stuff properly. read more

Be careful selling to them. They will take your tote and all your clothes to a donation box 1 hour after you miss their 24 hour cut off to pick them up. They gave me an under 10.00 check for an entire tote of brand new clothes, with no idea what they kept, and chucked my nice clear costco tote somewhere and no one could tell me where. read more

I also wish I could give them a zero. I have sold to them and purchased from them numerous times in the past and had put up with the rudeness and ridiculous buy-back prices until recently. With a recent experience taking items to sell and the lady at the receiving area being so over the top rude, super rude and rolling her eyes, I took my items and refuse to even sell or shop with them ever again. Still giving 1 star. They weren't as rude to me this time but I'm also just to the point of wanting to get something out of the clothes they do take because we need more in a bigger size. My stars are mainly for the staff. There are always at least 4 women working here and not a single one will welcome you or even acknowledge you. And even when you check out they won't talk to you, but will give you an obligatory "thank you" when you check out. Also - the prices are a little high for what you're getting. read more

We always have a great experience at Once Upon a Child! If you haven't shopped here before, do NOT let the ridiculous reviews steer you away. The clothes are very affordable and next to new! So I'm not sure why people say they can find better stuff at Tj Maxx or Marshalls. Pretty sure I've never found a Cat and Jack shirt for $1.50 at either of those stores. They have a huge selection of books and shoes, and now they have maternity! We have picked up tons of Birthday, Christmas, just because, summer, winter etc. here at amazing prices. The girls are always so kind and helpful! They have gone out of their way every time not only with us, but to other customers shopping! Today while visiting, one of the employees went to the back (inventory I'm assuming) to look for a certain dress for a mother who was attending a funeral and needed something last minute for her daughter. She came up with 3-4 options and she ended taking 2! She was so grateful. So for any people leaving these hurtful and rude reviews, Maybe you need to rethink your selling containers and laundry detergent, because that seems to be the main reason for the uneducated reviews. Being a single mom, I'm extremely disappointed that once upon a child decided to make a rule that doesn't allow children under 16 to enter the premises. I have yet to see a single other store have these guidelines as if it makes any sense regardless. Having a seven-year-old, I have had a lot of experience going into resale stores in Omaha, Lincoln and when we lived in Denver for four years. This was my first experience here in Lincoln and I was very excited because as a high utilizer of retail stores, this location was the closest to me although I work in Omaha. Upon entering the store I was not warmly greeted. They abruptly told me they could not accept my items in a large gift bag which I understood and told them I would go next-door and purchase a plastic tote and put the items in there. She responded with "do what you want." I made the hour drive to the store today so was determined to sell. When I dropped off my things and started filling out the form, she took the form from me and said "you filled out too much I don't need that much information. " I was a little caught off guard because I was just filling out the form. She told me they should be ready sometime after 11. I was willing to wait the hour as I didn't have an appointment coming up so I waited in the store to browse. It was clean. I appreciated that. It also looked very organized. About 1050 I approach the front desk as I saw they started working on another order. I asked them if they were done with my order. In a very abrupt and annoyed tone she pointed to the clock and said "I told you your order would be done at 11 and it's not 11." That was the last straw for me. It is unacceptable and unnecessary to be that rude all the time. I will not be visiting again. read more

Huge selection of higher end brands and some even have original tags on them! Such a great option for low cost baby clothes. My only complaint is that the clothes have that "consignment shop" smell to them, but that's to be expected and easily remedied by a quick run through the washer. read more

i have taken my clothes into OUAC and shopped in this store for nearly 10 years and to be honest, have never had a good experience. If there were another childrens thrift store in town i would gladly take my business elsewhere, but sadly there is not. When i take clothes that are high quality (Gap, Jcrew etc) it's like the don't know what they are, because they almost never buy them, and when they do, they don't give me very little in exchange. yet they often act like snobs when i come to pick my clothes up. i also, often find clothes that are stained or have oil spots on them for too high of a price. If the managers knew anything, they would hire people that knew retail or understand quality and not people that shop at walmart on a regular basis. i as a customer will pay more for a shirt from a higher quality shop because i know it will last longer yet looking down the isles they more often than not, have target and walmart clothes. They also need to to teach professionalism to their employees and show them how to not have inappropriate conversations behind the counter and treat the customer (especially the one bringing clothes in) some respect. That is, after all, how they make their money. read more
