Great selection of pots. This place is very impressive. I would have added a star if there had been any native plants of any kind available. Everything is a cultivar. That makes me sad. I deducted another star because I wanted to buy an alocasia and they had the one I was looking for, but it didn't look very healthy. I also found a mermaid tail cactus that I really wanted but it had a dead spot. I know it's hard to keep everything healthy. I can only pay premium prices for super healthy plants. Another thing that makes me sad is the number of butterfly bush plants going out the door. Do your research people. These plants do NOT support butterflies. AND to add insult to injury, they are an invasive plant! I wish nurseries would stop growing them. But until people stop buying detrimental plants, I can't blame the business for making money. read more

This nursery has a large lot of plants! We went to replace some planets in our yard. They had what we sought! The location is big, so expect to walk around. You have much to see. Mind you, if you know what you want, the staff are quite helpful. Just find one and ask. The pricing varies. Fancy rare plants are expensive, and more common ones are cheaper. True of sizes, too. Smaller is cheaper. Not my first visit and not our last! read more

When we moved to Omaha, people recommended two nurseries to me - Mulhall's and Lanoha. While Mulhall's has always been our go-to because of how close it is to home, I finally made the trip down to Lanoha after friends raved about their vegetable plant selection. They didn't lie. I'm not sure if a plant person is reading this review. I'm a plant person. Like IKEA-cabinet, lazy leca, plant collecting type of person. Lanoha is for plant people in a way that - I'm so sorry - Mulhall's cannot hope to compete with. Their pot selection is just massive. There's a place in Virginia that I loved going to, and this is just as close to that as I'll ever hope to find. They have cute housewares and the prices aren't vulgar. I think they're relatively reasonable. The greenhouse is HUGE and not only is it impressive in size but the selection is immaculate. I don't know how many times I've been to nurseries and they've just had one or two of what I'm looking for. Lanoha had twenty fiddleleaf figs to choose from. They had rows upon rows of alocasia and philodendrons and cute little terrarium-sized plants. Their vegetable plant selection was adequately hyped. I grabbed a couple Persian cucumbers, heirloom tomatoes, and a variety of peppers. They were all healthy and ready for planting. The only drawback was that their herbs weren't as great as Mulhall's selection. Everyone I talked to was helpful. It's easy to find someone who can answer your questions or point you in the right direction. They'll wrap and load trees into your vehicle for you, so don't be afraid to come in alone and grab some massive fiddleleaf to sneak into the house. Someone will enable you here. I'm not sure how I managed without taking any photos, but here we are. This was my first visit and I think I was just there because I was in the area and decided to stop. I managed to pick up a plant that I have been looking for, so there's that. This place is HUGE with clear wayfinders and for this time of year, a pretty decent selection of houseplants. I didn't walk thru the annuals, but I did check out the garden section and the pottery and there's a good variety in each area. The rare plant cage was a little disappointing tho. I realize what's in there is based on a variety of factors, but what was available looked neglected. The greenhouse felt like summer and there's plenty of staff to help answer questions. Lanoha is an excellent nursery with everything related to plants, gardening, and decorative features on a large and varied scale. It is a pleasure just to walk through it and view the different scenarios they have created within the store. The staff are extra friendly and well informed. They are able to answer any question you might have about choosing plants, how to display the plants, or anything to do with soil for any variety of plant including trees and bushes. I usually don't visit nurseries but today I decided to pick up some indoor plants and I remembered Lanoha Nursery being close to where I was at. The parking lot was larger than I expected and the entrance was visually attractive. The indoor area has lots of pots and planting materials. The outdoor area contains a large variety of indoor and outdoor plants. Prices are reasonable and the cashier was pleasant when checking out. I will return based on my experience today. read more

Horrible customer service!!! They planted this $500 tree in my yard 5 days ago, I have spoken to 5 different people and no one cares!!! Won't be back. Luckily the tree is under a 2 year warranty, they will be hearing from me in the spring but by then I'll be a year behind on my tree. I am BEYOND disappointed!! They called me on Friday to say tree would be planted on Tuesday, didn't bring tree until Thursday, and this is what I received. Pretty sure it sat on a trailer since Friday over the hot weekend and then was planted in my yard almost a full week later, DEAD!!! read more

I absolutely LOVE this nursery. The employees are very knowledgeable and eager to assist with any questions. They always make you feel welcomed when walking in. Their plants, trees and bushes are top notch quality too. I will be very careful in the future when purchasing holiday items though (Halloween, Christmas, etc.). I'd purchased several Christmas decorations and ended up not being able to use some of them. When I tried to return them I was told they do not do returns on any holiday decorations. I looked for a sign within the store that would tell me that, but I didn't see this posted anywhere. Very expensive lesson learned there! read more

Let me first say that this is the first time I have ever written a negative post online. However, after 20 years of being a loyal customer I am in complete shock at the horrible customer service I received today. I had purchased 9 hedge plants in June of this year (2022). 4 of them looked terrible shortly after planting them and despite my best efforts they eventually died. Due to previous quality issues, I always leave the original tags on my plants until they make it a full year. Today I tried to return them with the tags still on them and was told no because I didn't have the receipt. I then pulled up the transaction from my credit card company and asked if they could pull a copy from their POS system. And was told not that they couldn't, but that they wouldn't even try to do it. Why offer a warranty on your plants if you clearly never intend to honor it?From now on I will drive out of my way to Mulhalls who honors their warranties and cares about a high quality of service. read more

We have bought several trees from here and have been very pleased with the experience. You cannot beat the quality and the customer service has been great, although it does get crowded at peak times. They deliver and plant the trees and leave good, detailed instructions on how to care for them. We have purchased 4 trees over the course of 4 years and they are all thriving. The selection at Lanoha is decent. When you need help warranty wise not so much. We invested in two bigger trees for our new home two years ago. They delivered and planted. Last Spring we noticed issues with our big tree in the back and immediately called to have somebody come out and check since you get a two year warranty on trees. Weeks and more than multiple phone calls later we make a trip into the store and get a date for somebody to come look. Nothing but hurry up and wait. We call other tree companies to come out. Our tree has sun scald and frost crack (we have properly wrapped) and this was caused at the nursery prior and they told us the tree would grow out of it. So basically my tree was rotting and would eventually die out. After about two months we managed to get our tree in the back and front replaced. I hope these survive or we are out of a lot of money. I don't plan on purchasing any more trees from here. I don't feel they are healthy for the price you pay. read more

We had someone out to draw up landscaping plans and designs for our extremely empty yard. The yard went wild for a couple of years before we purchased the house and we needed some serious work done. Overall, the designs were great and accommodated the extreme shade and sun conditions we have. The designer was incredibly knowledgable and put together a fantastic design. But I wasn't too thrilled about us not being able to have much input. We needed certain things done, like privacy shrubs and trees along the fence line, and the designs did not reflect that. For the money we were going to spend, I expected to have my needs taken a little more into account. read more

You have to love a place with a huge silver trowel out front. This nursery is a destination in and of itself, whether you are buying plants or not. Huge indoor areas full of gardening and interior decorating materials, even larger outdoor areas full of tropicals and flowering plants, and even more plants, including flowers, trees and shrubs outdoors. Statuary, pavers, fountains, you name it, they have it. Plus the staff is very knowledgeable and numerous, no matter where you are on the property. read more

I purchased five clearance trees from Lanoha in late August 2019 for approximately $2,000. I asked if they could deliver them for a fee and the employee helping me told me they could not deliver this section of clearance evergreen trees at all. I heard him repeat that to multiple customers as we were making our selections. I thought it would be no big deal, however, when we went to pick the trees up, the employees loaded a white spruce pendula into the back of my Subaru and poked a hole through the fabric and foam of my 1 year old car with a stake that was in the pot. Clay Shipley, the retail operations manager, was there with the loaders, my husband and my father in law who all witnessed this. Clay gave my husband his business card, said he would take care of it, and to call him the next Monday so he could talk to his manager. When I called Clay requested I get three estimates to get my vehicle fixed from different shops around town. When doing roof work on a 2018 Subaru Outback, you have to go to the dealer because there is recalibration to be done to the "EyeSight" safety technology, so there was only one option. I told Clay this. He escalated to Joe Sapp, the office manager, who told me to get two bids. Again- I have to go to the dealer. I sent the quote for $950+rental for a couple of days as the dealer said they don't provide loaners to body shop customers (I tried to keep that off the bill). Joe turned the claim over to his GL insurance carrier, EMC, which was fine. However, in investigating the claim Lanoha enployees denied ever saying they would not deliver the trees, which is an outright lie as witnessed by myself, my husband and multiple other customers. Maybe the employee I talked to was mistaken, maybe they have changed their policy since this incident. Because I don't have the name of the guy who helped us -tall, slender, shaggy hair, knows a lot about the owner and his proclivity for white spruce pendulas in his front yard - that's on me. I should be more diligent about tracking every service individual that's helped me to ensure their company doesn't shirk liability for damage inflicted on my personal property. Bottom line - 1. Lanoha should have offered delivery on the trees when I asked - we would have gladly paid for it. 2. When you damage a customers property be accountable for it. 3. Now they have a $700 claim paid out on their insurance and adverse experience on their policy that will contribute to a rate increase in their next policy period. In the end it will end up costing them more, both on the claim, policy premium, and loss of our business instead of making money on a simple, straightforward delivery. It ends up costing me about the same as the delivery, with added aggravation caused by Lanoha's total lack of accountability. read more

An associate named Lindsey helped me to pick out a tree, and I'm quite certain that I was her most difficult and indecisive customer of the day (possibly the year). But she never lost patience with me. Furthermore, she taught me all about trees: how and why to wrap their trunks, how to trim them, how to water them, what to look for when picking them. Had Arbor Hills do it. Muuuuuch better co. Have NO idea why land'oh-HA is such a joke when they put on such a nice front. They sucked up and down the line. When we had wind damage from the storm 2 years ago it left some big openings in our yard that were both eye sores and created a wind tunnel effect. We hired Lanoha to come out and install 5 big spade trees for us. There was a wait because of weather being too hot, but the trees are wonderful! Instantly plugged up the eye sores. This summer we hired Lanoha to repair and complete a substandard job performed by a smaller nursery outside of Lincoln. Our designer, Samantha Johnson, and the entire Lanoha crew worked to repair what had been done improperly and suggested remedies to address ongoing water/drainage issues. Lanoha has stood by their products and plants and despite the job being complete, they continue to be available for questions. By far, this is one of the best companies out there for skill, knowledge and customer service. read more

Have used Lanoha many times, but no more. Planted Butterfly bush late summer last year. They died after a couple of months. The Lanoha person said we could just bring then back. The receipt said 1 year guarantee for bush in planter. So dig up the dead butterfly bush and took them back to Lanoha to be replaced. I was told by another employee that some bushes die easily so they fall into the 60 day category. Asked for a manager who appeared a couple minutes later. Explained the problem that we have a guarantee. She replied that it was only for 60 days. So, a bush is not a bush when Lanoha says. The lady who helped with us back last said "If it dies we will replace it". lWay to screw your customer Mr. Lanoha. read more

... I've waited over 3 weeks to post my review, thinking that in time, my anger would wear off. It hasn't. In fact, I'm even more angry with Lanoha's than I was on the day of my purchase. I went to the nursery to purchase some river rock for my cousin's yard. He's had basement flooding and couldn't afford major foundation repairs, so for his 40th wedding anniversary, I thought I'd help in buying the rock so that his son could make the repairs. Inside, one cashier, one customer and me. I found my own way to the rock display, took a card to the check0ut and waited in line. I paid the cashier, a young 16 year old that was better suited for childcare not a nursery. She told me to go to the drive-thru and "they" would come out and help in loading it for me. I drove up to the drive thru and parked. Waited about 5 or 6 minutes, honked again, no one came. Honked again and drove over about 40 feet to the pallets of bags of rocks. I sat and parked even longer, thinking with it being 3:30pm on a Friday, maybe their yard staff was further back into the compound. Waited. Waited. Waited some more. I'm one of 4 cars in the entire customer parking lot, so I knew I wasn't waiting my turn. But I waited. Finally, realizing that they had my money and didn't need or want to help me further, I began loading my bags of river rock. I loaded it. Loaded it all. All 26 bags of river rock in my 1996 Blazer. Not once did I ever see anything close to an employee enter the building, leave the building, or walk the massive grounds of rock, mulch and outdoor statuary. I have degenerative disk disease on my spine. The bottom 3 levels L3-4, L4-5 and L5-S1 are all nearly bone to bone. I'm 58 years old. I shouldn't have been loading these bags. But I kept thinking of my cousin and his wife needing my help, so I kept loading. I was there nearly 25 minutes, never any offer of help. No sign of human life. I may not do a lot of business with this place. I don't spend thousands of dollars like so many others do. I'm nothing to them, I understand that. But I'm still as angry about this happening as I was at the time that it happened. I've been ignored at this business a few times in the past. You get bad service anywhere. It's not a huge deal. But there was no excuse for this. And if I can keep even one person from going through this same bad service, then this review has been worth it. It was only $126. But it was the last dollar I'll ever spend there again. read more

Judy has helped me for over 12 years with everything from how to put lights on a Christmas tree so the cords are almost invisible, to what type of trees to purchase for the homes I have lived in, to how to try to save my large ash tree. The advice is excellent as always. The workers who have come out to plant my trees are meticulous and clean up after themselves. The warranty on their trees is fair and they have replaced a maple for me at no charge that didn't survive its first winter. I love the beautiful home furnishings though lots are out of my price range. Their veggie and herb plants always flourish. I am a happy customer. Not very pleased with the situation I faced. I wanted to surprise my wife with a couple flower pots. I went in and explained I wanted to pre-pay for the pots and pick them up a week later. A friendly gentleman helped me load them on a cart. There was no clearly marked price on them and my wife told me she saw the price marked on them the day before. Because I did not see a price, I asked if the price was XXX. I was told "yes sir." I then asked if there were any deals going on that day. He informed the cashier to give me a discount. A price tag was found at the very bottom of the planter that did not reflect the price that I had asked about. The cashier took care of me, I paid and went about my day. I was at home for about 30 minutes when I received a call from the gentleman that was helping me. He had informed me that he never told me a price when I felt that I had clearly asked and received a confirmation. I apologized for any miscommunication. He agreed to give me the price that I had originally asked about and I agreed to pay the difference when I went in to pick them up. When I picked up the planters I had apologized to the cashier as I felt like the staff was under the impression I was trying to rip them off. She was friendly and said it was no big deal. As I waited for someone to bring out the planters I was approached by 3 different associates who all asked if I had paid the remainder, 1 of which asked to see my receipt. This tells me the staff was on hi alert to make sure I paid. I am a man of my word and I feel like I was being treated as if I were some common thief. I don't think I will be going back, which is unfortunate as I have a large project in the making and was thinking about hiring the landscaping staff. At least my wife liked her planters. read more

Went to buy a decent sized tree for the first time in my life and didn't know what to get as I live on a lake and wanted to plant in the sand.
