My son has been racing at their Wallingford facility for approximately 1 1/2 years. His name, Chris S, is currently hanging from the rafters at their Wallingford facility as the 2014 Junior Champion. For the 1st year, we had very little major issues. About 6 months ago, some of the key assistant managers and head racing official quit. The company hired and promoted an Asst Mgr and head racing official Doug Brown. Since he came in, I caught him fixing races for another parent and when confronted, swore at me and told me he can whatever he wants because they will never fire him. When the owners were made aware of this, they chose to do nothing about it so we left the Wallingford facility where my son was on pace to win another 1st Place trophy because the owners asked me not to come to my son's races anymore and told my ex wife she couldn't either because she left an unpleasant but true review on their Facebook page which they deleted. When we got to their Brookfield location the following Sunday, I found out that Doug Brown had put a $100 Bounty on my son's head because I had filed complaints against him. He had told other racers in Brookfield that "the 1st kid who puts Chris into the wall hard gets $100". After I brought this to the attention of the owners and tried to file a complaint with the Brookfield Police Department, the owners removed Doug from being racing official but STILL kept him employed as a kart repairman at BOTH facilities. As of last week, he still had access to the public and still had access to the tracks where children continue to race. The owners told me they can't fire this guy because "it's really hard to find anybody reliable to repair go karts". I wish there was another place for my son to race but this is the only high level indoor go kart racing business in the entire State of CT. It is truly unbelievable that the owners of On Track choose to allow an employee to berate customers, swear at customers, fix races wherever they want and allow their employees to put bounties on children's heads. Moreover, they cannot handle ANY kind of bad review and they look to punish those who come forward with legitimate complaints. This is a good place to practice but I would warn anyone to avoid this guy Doug Brown. He appears to be in his 50s, usually wearing a hat, full beard and has a Marty Feldman thing going on with his eyes. Hopefully one day, the owners will cut this cancer out so that their business can return to stature it once had before. read more
