    Mini Golf Course

Staff were very rude, and not welcoming. Super expensive for everyone, even just to watch. Ice cream options were very limited and expensive. Well I was there we witnessed another group get kicked out for seemingly no reason. Course its self wasn't bad at all, if you can put up with the terrible customer service and high prices.

So many goats !!! Great family outing. Charming "Swiss" themed. The course is well kept and a little challenging. Plenty of sun and shade for a summer trip.

    Woof!

Do you like boring mini golf places? If so, this is not the place for you. This place is all about fun with creative and accessible holes with tennis racquets, fake ducks, and anything else you can think of. Use your imagination. You could be in Switzerland or some Alice in wonderland world. Whatever you fancy, this place has it and as such it's my favorite mini golf place around. Add some soft serve and it's a delight. Go. It's fun.

Wonderfully designed course where hole in ones aren't always the goal. We loved the facts about Switzerland as we walked around. This was my 4 year olds first time mini golfing and he had so much fun. We would definitely come back.

This simulates skiing in Switzerland. I got a Hole in One here !!!!!!!!!!

Willkommen to Matterhorn Mini Golf. We walked across the parking lot and saw a stockade fence made from colorful skis. That was our first clue. Then we entered the building to the sound of oom-pa-pa music, and by the time we crossed the threshold, we didn't need any more clues. It was clear we had entered the land of cheese, chocolate, cows, Swiss Army Knives, and goats. Lots of goats. Welcome to Switzerland and Matterhorn Golf, a unique Swiss-themed, miniature golf course. The course was fairly busy yesterday and we were greeted by owner Autumn, who suggested we skip over the few large groups that just started and start the course in the middle where there was some breathing room. She escorted us to our starting spot and we found her to be charming, informative and super friendly. She was accompanied by her dog "Mulligan", the course mascot, and Mulligan was about as cute as cute could be. We've played a lot of mini golf over the years, especially down in the Myrtle Beach area, where there seemed to be one at every traffic light. But I can't tell you the last time we enjoyed a round of mini golf as much as we did yesterday. First, the course is absolutely beautiful. Matterhorn is six years old, but it looks like it opened last week. The colors are absolutely vibrant and in primo condition. The 18 holes (par 45 and $9.77 each) are all themed after various aspects of Swiss culture, geography, food or leisure. So, you'll see a holes with a giant wedge of Swiss cheese, mogul skiing, Toblerone chocolate, the Matterhorn mountain, a tennis court (for Roger Federer), Swiss Army Knives, a St. Bernard rescue dog with a keg, lakes of bright blue artificial turf (and one of water), a 19th hole cuckoo clock, and those goats. There are plenty of goats everywhere, even one on the roof of a shed. They are fiberglass, so you don't have to worry about stepping into goat droppings, although one hole DID have simulated gobs of goat droppings to challenge your putting accuracy. The goats were beautifully painted by a local school or artist. Check out the many photos. It was hot yesterday, but the course has lots of comforts for those hot days in the form of benches, sun shades, fans and a water mist, not to mention soft serve ice cream inside the building. We each scored a Hole in One, me on the Mogul Skiing hole, and my wife on the one with the Church Bell. Sometimes, mini golf can get, how do I say this.... tedious? But not here, the course held our interest throughout, and truth be told, we had a blast. Thanks Autumn, we had a stellar time.

Thankfully, this golfing course ain't too far from where I live, so this ain't too bad of a drive to get there. You just have to make a U-turn at the end to get there if you are coming from the northbound lanes like I was. Upon arrival, you kind of see the Safari-theme pretty easily here. You have models of giraffes, gorillas, and elephants amongst other African icons on the golf course. The name of the holes also correlate with African themes such as The Tusk, Zebra Crossing, and Kilimanjaro. Pars for every hole are either 2 or 3 shots, and you don't get to your first Par 3 until The Loop (Hole 10). I played two rounds today and I find this mini-golf course to be pretty beginner friendly. None of the holes were so hard that I needed to get to the 6-shot maximum for any hole, and on both rounds I even got a hole-in-one in a hole (Hole 13 for the first round and Hole 15 for the second). In both rounds I even got 2 birdies on 2 other Par 3's. My scores were still over par on both rounds after all 18 holes, but there was a noticeable improvement on my second round as I shaved 4 off my score. If you like mini-golf and want something stress-free, this is definitely your golf course. As for the customer service, the receptionist was pretty helpful. You can even nab some ice cream after the game if you're coming on a hot day like I did. I got a Chillwich that was $7 and locally manufactured. Honestly, for $7, this hit the spot. I got the Thiq Mint, and it is a HUGE cookie sandwich of goodness. For the pricing of the games themselves, you have to pay $10 for one round, and then for the second round, you can get a dollar off. There is a caveat though that might force you to bring your A-game: If you get a Hole-in-1 on Hole 18, you get your second game free which saves you $9. I will say though, if you are attempting for that, it is NOT easy to get a Hole-in-1 on that last hole. Actually, the way it is designed, it is very difficult to pull off. I was able to get a Birdie on the hole, but not the Hole-in-1. All-in-all, a very fun mini-golf course, and it is a great place for beginners to grab their putts and play a good game. I would love to come back here soon to get better at the game.

Cashier should be directing customers which way is the start of the course, we walked to hole 18 and then quickly realized we went the wrong way before starting. Another group did the same thing and walked up when we were at the end of our game, and actually was playing on the bottom part of our hole when we were trying to finish our game... the woman actually picked up my ball and handed it to me completely oblivious she had gone the wrong way. There is also no bathrooms from what i could see, and as a pregnant woman that's a huge con for me! All in all a good place to have a fun time, aside from those two flaws.

I am not sure how often they do league but definitely call prior arrival and ask if they have league going as there is no available lanes during league. We played the mini golf which is very small and short, kinda bowling themed kinda full of some fake plants and a Christmas's tree??. Mini golf is cheap at about $9-$10 a person. Wasn't really sure what the par was on the course so it's pretty much a guess. Got a few drinks, bartender served people standing at counter before us. Seems like they need to update their software very slow service as the bar waiting for my credit card to process along with the 4-5 other league people who came in after that we had to wait for.
