After opening it up and realizing that this was beyond me, I found Keith based on a recommendation from my mother-in-law. He was everything she said and more. Not only was the dishwasher installed, but I had some inherited less than effective plumbing under my kitchen sink, he replaced the turn-offs and a few pieces of pipe that were significantly corroded. He came in, did not only what I asked, but also what I needed, was way more affordable than anyone else with incredible professionalism. He also took a look at some things in my house like my water heater. He let me know that my water heater looks great right now, though based on age I should keep an eye on it as most water heaters leak between 12 and 16 years old (mine is at like 15). He served me as a person, not as a quick job or buck. Thank you Keith!

I searched local Facebook groups for plumber recommendations and saw their name pop up several times. They originally made an appointment for that Friday, but called me back on Tuesday with an earlier opening, which I really appreciated, so I ended up having a new garbage disposal by Wednesday! The plumber I worked with was Ed, and he was very adaptable to the quirks of the tiny 100yr old condo I live in. It took about 2.5 hours. Ultimately the garbage disposal plus installation cost $875. (The Google estimates I was reading said garbage disposals are usually between 200-900.) They seem like a reliable operation.

One trip to Menards, three hours and a sore back later finally I gave in and decided to contact a plumber. I called several plumbers including one plumber that was highly referred by friend. I was told by that company they would charge me double-time due to the weekend and suggested I call back Monday. I called back 8:30 am on Monday and they told me they were fully booked for the next two days and they would call me back if they could fit me in. The last place I called was Affordable Sewer and Water for the St. Paul area (I live in Maplewood) the operator was professional and gave me and quote which was aproimately $70 cheaper than all the quotes I received that morning plus they were able to schedule me right away so I set an appointment for that afternoon. My Drain is now free of clogs after the plumber used his 60-foot power snake to clear it out. After all of this I still haven't heard back from the two companies who said they would call back. The plumber was conscious and respectful of my house and put on boot coverings and didn't leave any mess whatsoever. I'm completely satisfied with the service Affordable Sewer and Water has provided, they communicated their fees clearly and efficiently performed the job. I will contact Affordable Sewer and Water first next time I have plumbing needs. Pros: Clear pricing, overall friendly and professional service, on time

The team was easy to work with, showed up on time, and made sure everything was set up perfectly before wrapping up. If you need electrical work done right the first time, I highly recommend Randy's.

This is my second Yelp review for Randy's Electric because my first one mysteriously vanished. I…read moredon't know how or why, but based on everything I've experienced, I wouldn't be surprised if they try to bury negative feedback. Their Google reviews are almost perfect -- yet everyone I've talked to says the exact same thing: their real-life service does NOT match their ratings. Maybe some reviews are real, but certainly not all. Now for my experience, which was absolutely infuriating: Jeremy came to my home and quoted me $2,700 just to convert two lights into ceiling fans and replace one GFCI outlet. The prices they charged were beyond ridiculous: $300 for ONE GFCI $150 for a simple light switch $500 EACH for two fan brackets ($1,000 total) -- brackets that cost $23 retail That's not a markup. That is taking advantage of people. Their behavior was just as bad as their pricing. They show all prices on an iPad. When I was on the phone asking someone if this sounded normal, Jeremy literally snatched the iPad out of my hand the second I finished talking. He guarded that iPad like his life depended on it because he knew the pricing was outrageous. Completely disrespectful and incredibly unprofessional. I asked for an itemized invoice with real part numbers and real labor charges. Jeremy told me, "I'll email it to you." I still have nothing. The only invoice I received was written in vague "units" -- a convenient way to avoid transparency and hide price gouging. And the worst of all: They quoted me $19,000 -- yes, NINETEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS -- to upgrade my electrical panel from a split 60/120 amp setup to a standard 200 amp box. Other electricians quoted between $2,500-$4,500. Randy's Electric wasn't just high -- they were five to seven times the normal price. That is predatory and absolutely shameful. The owner even came out trying to justify the $500 brackets by saying they "add a yellow tag to every bracket." Later I learned that the yellow tag is just the manufacturer's tag that comes with the bracket. Nothing more. Another excuse. Another lie. Since this happened, I've talked to so many people -- and not a single person has had a positive experience with this company. Everyone says the same thing: overpriced, shady, rude, and preying on people who don't know electrical costs. Jeremy and the owner should be ashamed of themselves for the way they treat people and for the way they conduct business. It is absolutely disgusting behavior. Randy's Electric preys on the unknowledgeable, the vulnerable, and the people who genuinely need help. Their lack of transparency, their predatory pricing, and their disrespect toward customers say everything you need to know. If this review stops even ONE person from being taken advantage of the way I was, then it's worth writing twice -- because Yelp deleted the first one. I will NEVER use Randy's Electric again, and I strongly warn anyone considering them: Run the other way. Do not let them take advantage of you the way they did to me.
