I have moved a lot in the past 10 years and I would not call anyone else. Believe me I have my own bad stories about other companies but I prefer to post positive reviews and learn from the bad ones. I am so lucky to have found On Time Moving & Storage in St Augustine . I have have used them repeatedly. I have worked with several different crews and always receive the same quality of service. I have special lift chairs that cost a lot of money and are very important to my quality of life and I need them to be the last loaded and first unloaded to make my life easier and they have always gone above and beyond to help with my needs. I have a lot of breakables and everything has always arrived just the way I packed it. My furniture is leather and it is always wrapped so as not to get damaged. If you have moved you know how important that is. I wanted to post this review so that I could help others have a good moving experience also. When I wanted to move from Tallahassee to St. Augustine, I called On Time Moving & Storage. They are true to their word! They arrived early in the morning, had the moving truck packed in no time at all, and I was unpacked and in my new condo before sundown. Worst experience I have had and still having with a moving company. To start the day they showed up to move they didn't bring a big enough truck so they left a whole room of furniture that they didnt on the truck. I had to go rent a uhaul at 7pm at night to finish the packing so I could leave that night to drive to my new location. Then once the truck arrived at my new house and they unloaded it. There were so many damaged items. Over $3500 in new appliances damaged and over $2000 in furniture damages. Huge dents in my washer and refrigerator. Scratches and chips on my expensive dining and living room furniture. They lost a leg of a table and a power cord to my TV! This was very upsetting. When I contacted them to get this resolved they want to offer me $200 to make this go away. I am still fighting them to do whats right. This is the worst moving experience I have had with a moving company. I do not recommend them. Please be aware of the nightmare I am having with this company! read more

They took 3 weeks longer than they promised to get my stuff to its destination. There was no communication from them during this time, only when I instigated contact. I got a storage unit that specifically has semi access, but the driver decided "he couldn't fit" and just took off so they could charge me a shuttle fee. They could have parked in the lot and used the free van from the storage unit, but no. I'm literally waiting for them to deliver my stuff from the uhaul lot they went to and I'm trying to talk to the owner but he has not returned my calls for 3 hours this morning despite me calling 5 times. Great friendly movers. My family and I had to move to California we were recommeded by a friend to use On Time Moving. They helped us pack the first day and loaded the truck the next day and were on their way. The arrived three days later in California and were able to unload our stuff and helped us set up the major furniture before heading back to Florida. They took our stress away and made such a long move as pleasant as could be. read more

We hired these guys to move us from Kissimmee, FL to Charlotte, NC. We were told several times that there would be a 3-5 day window, although to be fair, the paperwork said 5-7. If they can now be believed, all our worldly goods will be delivered tomorrow, a full 10 days after pickup. Even worse, since picking our things up, they have not initiated one phone call to us or returned one phone call from us. Every time we call to ask when to expect delivery, no one knows; they say they'll check the schedule and call us right back. But no one ever has. Meanwhile, I'm 58 with severe health issues and my husband is 68 and we've been camping out in an empty house on hardwood and tile floors with...nothing. The only thing I can think of is that they completely forgot about us, but even so, how do you forget about someone who is calling every other day? We are very polite people who never rock the boat; man, I'm wishing we'd rocked it a little on this one. There are plenty of legitimate movers out there. These are not among them. read more

My wife and I met personally with Trad, one of the owners of the company. He is handsome, personable and articulate. It was easy to believe everything he told us about services offered by his company. We were moving from Palm Coast, FL to The Athens, GA area. About a seven hour trip via auto. Our house in Athens was not yet available so Trad suggested they store all our furniture in their warehouse and when we were ready they would deliver the furniture. In agreement with Trad, his company would pack and pick up our furniture on December 30 and 31. They would keep it in their warehouse until the 19th at which time they would deliver it to the Athens Georgia address. There would be one truck and our furniture would never get mixed with another persons. This would guarantee that our furniture would only make the one run and not need to go to another location and unload someone else's furniture. No danger of a mix up and losing a piece of furniture. On loading day the crew was is such hurry to finish, New Years Eve, and some of them had places to be, that they did not completely load all our possessions. We were able to load what they left into our two SUV's! When we closed on our house in Athens we called an instructed them to deliver, as agreed on the 19th of January. We were then informed that the delivery date was just a window and would be delivered later on the 21rst. We waited at the new house that had not even a chair most of the day of the 21rst for the delivery. We called them and received an apology that the snow was preventing their delivering our furniture. Remember now, Florida and Georgia rarely ever has any snow at all! Needless to say that response was indeed baffling. It turned out that they actually passed our house about 50 miles on their way to Maine because lo and behold they had loaded our furniture on two different trucks and mixed our furniture with other customers. So in their wisdom, they would deliver the Maine load in the middle of a snow storm and then would return to Georgia and then unload our furniture. Bright fellows running this company! One of the trucks arrived early on the morning of the 23 of January. As the crew began to unload they discovered they had not loaded a ramp for unloading. Furthermore, this truck also did not have a lift. So two guys started at eight in the morning and finished at ten at night. Since the company failed to assure proper equipment (ramp), the crew dropped a few pieces of our furniture while handing it the man on the ground. Legs were completely broken off and other damage resulted from this negligence. Again, this is more than just a moving problem but rather negligence on the part of company management. At their suggestion, we took the damaged furniture to a competent and well know restorer in North East Georgia. We subsequently received an email from the movers that the restorer price was too high and in St Augustine that kind of work could be done cheaper. With that call I knew we would be sandbagged and they would never acknowledge this is not an insurance problem but negligence on the part of management. Indeed, the people in the office to whom I have conversed and it seems like a different person with each call have denied any culpability and fallback on the insurance which conveniently has a generous deduction. It is now March31, well over a month, and we are still waiting on a satisfactory resolution of our complaint. read more

Members of my family & I have used Ontime Movers four times in three years for cross country moves and everything was wonderful! Then, twice in the past year, we have used them locally in St. Augustine, FL for two household moves and it was awful!!!! The estimates were very low compared to final price & the breakage was bad!!!!! One damaged item of the three was an antique rocker which was in perfectly fine condition prior to the move. They broke a runner, said it was rotten wood & could not be fixed, returned the chair & all of a sudden, there were two broken runners! When I called, it was told to me that they already had "too much into this move" to do anything further, gave $30 per the weight of the chair, was told to call supervisor on his cell, did that, & never even a courtesy return call!!! Obviously, this company has now got employees who are careless & do not provide the same quality care as we previously experienced. The movers also talked continuously on their bluetooth phones so they were obviously distracted. My advice is...do not use them!!!!! read more

I told myself after this move was complete I would absolutely go write a review as there seems to be so many negative reviews on moving companies. I just (2 weeks ago) moved my mother from FL to MA after my father had passed. I must have gotten 30 quotes from moving companies and the phone calls came in for weeks after trying to get my business. Even had one company bad mouth another company when they asked who I chose. I never realized what a competitive and cut throat market this was. On Time Movers helped us have a perfect move. They came exactly when they said they would, they kept in constant communication with me and even delivered the load early. They are not brokers - Bobby in fact sent me photos of all his trucks with their logo on it. All the guys that picked up the items and dropped off were so incredibly nice and polite! These guys are fine as long as "everything goes right" - I've used them more than once. But on the occasion something is broken, missing, etc., these guys put their heads in the sand and either ignore the issue or actually blame the customer. If you have a "no brainer" move - college kid, etc go ahead and use them. If you have any items of real worth and/or more complicated circumstances go and hire actual professionals. read more

I am writing this complaint on behalf of my 83 year old Mother. I picked On Time Moving from other moving companies in the area due to a certain office person Bobby who contacted me after making an inquiry on-line for moving estimates. I made an appointment and met with Trad Raven, He came out and gave us an estimate for a whole house move and pack job up north to Ohio. He told us how he had moving trucks with numerous doors down the side and how my mother's items would not be mixed with any other households for this long distance move up north, He even elaborated on how they do moves for a museum in Daytona Beach. Being the former owner of a moving company it all sounded logical. We talked it over and agreed to use his company and a flat rate move was agreed too. We purchased additional insurance than what was offered by his company. When it came time finalized the final price including insurance the price of the insurance jumped from $250-300 to $521 dollars. When I questioned Trad Raven about this he said it was because we waited too long to purchase it. This should have raised a red flag. The day of the move came and the crew showed up the crew leader was directing everyone on how to pack my mother's items as she has a lot of antiques and breakables. Everything went well and we received everything has promised by Trad Raven in our meeting. The second day came to pack the remainder of the items and a completely new crew showed up all except for 1 man. They were all young boys who looked as if they had been picked from a labor pool. When asked who was in charge they all just smiled and no one stepped forward, they handed us a moving agreement which was not what we agreed to. We tried to call the office and no one answered. Also we tried to call Trad Raven and he did not answer either. One person said we could just write on the contract and that would be sufficient. What else could we do ? They proceeded to work and finish the packing which they did not do well we found dirty drills on top of clothing which became oil stained etc.... When they were finished they stood out front waiting for a tip. My mother tipped them being the lady she is. After they left a walk through was done and we found many items left behind. We also found a hole in the wall left by them and not reported to us. The walk through should have been done by On Time Moving. The closing was the next day and the realtor had it fixed since we could not reach Trad Raven. He did deduct $50 from the bill though. The day of the delivery came and we received a call stating they needed to eat and would be there around 1 o'clock. When they arrived a truck and a rental truck arrived. My mother's items were all mixed with the other stops they had to make. The first thing the driver wanted to know is how far Akron was because they had another delivery which needed delivered today also. Trad Raven sent 2 men to unload a whole house they practically ran through the unloading just putting boxes anywhere as they needed to get to this other job. Many items were received broken due to poor packing or none at all. Headboards were put on backwards kitchen items were put in bedrooms etc... When they left it was very late and they just piled up boxes in the formal dining room to get them off of the truck. I had to travel 130 miles several weekends to finish the unpacking and get things organized once the dust cleared and we could asses all of the damage from the move I filed claim forms and sent them certified mail which I was instructed to do and use the address on the form. The letter was returned 1 month later as undeliverable by the post office. I tried to contact Trad Raven numerous times at the office and could not get him to return my calls. I finally was able to get a hold of him via text and e-mailed the claim forms and pictures to him. It took over 3 weeks to get a check and not for the full value of the loss. For instance they packed a pair of $350 perscription glasses and lost them. When trying to get the full price of the glasses back he said how do I know you did not buy these at Walmart. I offered to contact the company and produce a receipt. They lost numerous items from her deceased husband which cannot be replaced and she is very sad about this. He then proceeded to question the cost of other items they damaged or lost. Enough was enough and we settled for his offer. My mother has been professionally moved 16 times when her and my father lived together and had never been treated or had the losses she had with this company. This company and owner is very unprofessional and I would not recommend them to anyone. Buyer Beware do not use them. read more

2/14/17 We have unpacked most of our boxes by now and are very happy with the results. The furniture arrived in great shape and nothing was broken. The only issue we had was confusion on our part about the arrival date at our new home. They use a "target" date that we thought was the actual date of arrival with our stuff. It is actually a 10 day window from the target date. Our stuff arrived about 4 days after the target date. Be sure to be very clear with them about the actual arrival day. We had family helpers ready to roll only to find out we had to put it off a few days. For us it worked out ok as we got to put up shelving ,etc that helped when the stuff actually did arrive. Otherwise we highly recommend On Time Movers. Their movers all work for them and they use no temp workers. They were all great and very caring. Work out the actual dates for everything and you'll be happy with them. read more

Horrible customer service! Our delivery was late and our date was changed 4-5 times, but never communicated to us! We had to call every time to find out where our stuff was and when it was going to be delivered. We had told them weeks in advance that a semi could not fit in our storage location but they waited until the last minute to get the shuttle to do so which caused a few more hours delay on getting our stuff. Chris in the office was rude and completely unhelpful. They took $100 off for being late which was nothing for what we were paying altogether and then they took that money out of the drivers pocket instead of the companies. I asked to speak to the manager and he finally called me back three days later after I made yet another phone call! He refused to do anything else to try and make us happy, just excuse after excuse. We also had a damaged dinning room table that I have to claim through them and hoping the service will be better but I doubt it! The name of this company is a lie, there is nothing on time about them. DO NOT use them to move! read more
