Ok so I was gonna write this live like I like to do lately, but I also want my wife to enjoy your meal. This is a very small and tight restaurant. The tables are in my opinion too close together, but it's something you eventually get used to even though you feel like you're dating the table beside you. So we got the awkward table right at the front door right beside the glass very very tight. My seat sat over the vent. It couldn't get comfortable. I'm not really a small guy so it was an uncomfortable position to sit for two hours. We started off with drinks. I had the tainted water. My wife had the sangria. I apologize. I meant the painted water we ordered three they all came with a raspberry except for the fourth one that we ordered which I was gonna say something but really but at $18 a drink it should be made perfect every time. The raw special was the tuna. It was delicious. It was plated perfectly. The flavour was unbelievable. My wife does not like raw fish of any sort, but she enjoyed the tuna and the texture and the presentation. My wife ordered the sliders with the puff potatoes the plate was a win-win. I'd order the pork chop with the bone in the chop was overcooked and lots of flavor, but it was definitely overcooked. The presentation was not the best on my plate, but the plate beside me that ordered the same meal presentation was perfect. Actually his pork looked perfect ,maybe it was hit miss that night. I also ordered the risotto which I thought that was undercooked risotto's very very particular and does not always come out the same with the amount of time it cooks for. Pretty sure we had the key. It was delicious. Nice presentation. Overall a meal was great with small imperfections. It was definitely a 3 1/2 star. That being said my dislikes. I felt her server came to our table too many times to ask us how things were. I felt the meal was poorly timed. I found the Bar to be inconsistent and need to work on its presentation. I also felt the server rushed us out the door once we were getting close to the second seating. And there was too much time between the serving from our first drink to our appetizer to the main course to the dessert to settling our Bill to leave. read more

I have always loved the food and the service at On The Lam, ever since it opened. By far the best burgers, until recently. About a month ago we went with another couple to finely enjoy an evening out. I had the beef cheeks that were too salty to eat. I tried my husbands burger which was also way too salty. We needed a jug of water and some anti-hypertensives following the meal. We decided to give it another shot and booked dinner for 5 of us. It seemed a little pricey for sitting at picnic tables and being swarmed by yellow jackets the entire time. My granddaughter was stung and my daughter pulled out her epi-pen and reviewed with everyone how to use in case she got stung. Needles to say it will be a long time before we return again, if at all. read more

I really wanted to like this restaurant, and as a preface, the food was actually really tasty. But the service was *terrible*. The deepfryer broke while we were there, but we weren't told about it until after we'd been waiting an hour for even just our appetizers. We had even ordered raw oysters, which could have been served first, but that didn't happen. We ended up waiting 2 hours for all of our food to arrive, all at different times. At no point were we offered free drinks, or bread, or an appetizer on the house as compensation for the insane wait, nor were we really kept up to date on the time it was going to take for our food. After we finished, a couple people in our party talked to the chef/owner and our waitress, but the response was very uncaring and rude. Not to mention they also ran out of a menu option that we'd ordered a few plates of, so we only got 2 orders of them instead of 4. I understand that a deepfryer breaking is not something you can predict and it's not their fault either, but keeping your customers in the dark until they're hangry, and not offering an out, or compensation is bad management. read more

Excellent service and food! OTL has been a great place discovered by coincidence. About two weeks, I had a business meeting and some friend make a reservation in that place to eat after the meeting. Must say that the food was excellent, the service is kind and the prices are affordable. We really had a great evening talking and having some fun. If you don´t want to be alone and have a dinner for one, can make your reservation here. If you looking for a place to make your special meeting or have an excellent, stop looking other places. Always awesome food. Their menu fluctuates with interesting and always fresh options. They've got fantastic cocktails and a great wine list. The staff is friendly and the service is great. I love the romantic setting for date-night as well as the sharesies styled dessert cups. Best gourmet fare in Brantford hands down with fantastic ambience. read more

This is about the only truly classy AND trendy place I can think of to go in Brantford, whether for dinner, or just drinks. The place is funky and easy to miss unless you are looking for it. When considering a meal in this town, all other restaurants are stacked up against On The Lam. read more

Fourth visit here. First two visits very good experience. Last visit served to reinforce my decision after the third to give it a pass going forward. Food good but very expensive as every item is 'ala cart'. Expect an entree with two sides to approach 50.00 per person plus appetizer, wine, dessert etc. Lost our reservation and advised we had been a 'no show' from the previous night. Music far too loud and got louder as the evening wore on. Service slow to come, and waitress interrupted order taking by answering the phone. read more

Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff. Fun atmosphere (great music). The puffed potatoes and street corn were delicious. The duck confit, tacos, and burger were good (not great). The chocolate toffee dessert was probably my favourite dish of the evening. read more

Bf and I had a fantastic meal last night- pork chop on the bone and top sirloin with puff potatoes. Very, very tasty and tender. Great ambiance! The only reason I did not give On the Lam five stars was that the entrees come with no vegetable/side at all and for the price it would be nice to have a side of veggies without having to purchase them separately. Nice to have a restaurant in Brant you can get dressed up a bit and enjoy a great meal. read more
