I have been contemplating writing a review for this venue for a very long time, but after hearing horrible things from others, I just had to make sure everyone knew how horrific this venue truly is.
My husband and I were married there in September of 2012. At first, the owners of the venue were super nice. Even gave us fresh eggs to take home when we first met them. Then crazy-town happened. Oh, were shall I begin...
At first we were told the barn could seat up to about 175, then after we invited everyone we were told 125...awesome. Everything was ok during the planning phase, luckily my wedding planner had the pleasure of interacting with Pam, when Pam decided to actually email her back, which was a rarity. I really started seeing the crazy in the owners when I mentioned that my bridesmaids and I were going to have mimosas in the bridal suite. Pam said that by Washington State Law I had to have a licensed bartender pouring. I thought that was odd so I contacted the Washington State Liquor Board, and they sent me a nice email, thanking me for checking with them, but they said it was perfectly legal to not have a bartender pour champagne in the bridal suite. I told Pam, and she got very defensive, and she said that I better print out that email in case an officer came by the day of the wedding...sure Pam...so I did.
During this time, my wedding planner also had another bride who was getting married there. My planner said that the bride went to a scheduled meeting with the owners at the venue, and the moment she got out of her car Pam's husband got in her face and started yelling at her for no reason, her dad had to take him aside and deescalate the situation. From then on, the bride refused to even talk to the owners, and my wedding planner had to handle every little piece of communication.
Back to my wedding. The day of our rehearsal, Pam's husband must not have realized that we would be there because he was swearing at himself rather loudly, saying that no one was supposed to be there...odd. Then, the day of the wedding, when my awesome caterer arrived with his bartender, Pam got into it with him because she thought he did not bring the right kind of bartender, my caterer had to sit her down and calm her down, letting her know he knew what he was doing. Then during the reception, she kept telling my DJ, who is pretty much the best, and most respected DJ in the area, to turn the music down in the barn. You're talking about a DJ with solid knowledge of all the noise ordinances, and years and years of successful weddings in his resume. So he was really upset with her because she was not allowing him to do his job to the best of his abilities. As people danced, the barn got super hot, so my friends were trying to not die of heat exhaustion, so they were opening the barn doors to let some air in...apparently that's a no-no in Pam's book since it lets the music out of the barn...so she kept getting into it with my guests, telling them to keep the doors all shut. How incredibly rude.
I could keep going all night about this place. All I can tell you if you are looking into having your wedding here, please, please, please ask around about them. You will hear horrible things. Since my wedding, my coworker has gone to a wedding there where guests were treated horribly by the venue owners, and my boss said his neighbor's wedding was destroyed by the owners, and Pam's husband even threatened family members with bodily harm, which does not surprise me.
To the owners of this venue: Stop doing weddings, you have no idea what you are doing.
To anyone looking for a venue: I hear Trezzi Family Farms is great...or really anywhere but this place. read more
