I am giving "On Point Movers" 5 stars, because I believe by them not being able to assist me with my safe move/install/bolt down job, lead me to a company that could. Background: I was looking for a company that specializes in moving/installing/bolting down safes. And boy did I find one via my exhaustive search on the internet. I called and left a voice message with "Boswell Safe & Vault Co" and Curtis the owner, called me back in less then 30 minutes, while I was still in search of a safe mover. Curtis provided professional, courteous and detailed safe moving, installing and bolting down a safe service emphasizing the grave importance of safety to everyone, in addition, Curtis discussed how important bolting down the safe is because this provides extra added stability to top heavy safes like the safe I purchased from Costco. Bottom line: Curtis was "On Point" from the start to the finish. The 2 Boswell movologist (Jeremy & Kellen) were very professionally, courteous and believe it or not they were in and out in less than 1 hour. I thought that was amazing!!! These 2 He-men (lol) moved my 340lb brand new still in the box/located in my garage on the 1st story up to the 2nd story of my M. bedroom. (With some help from their little friend a elevator dolly), bolted it down to my hardwood flooring, thoroughly covered specific details about my safe. Showed me how to change my safe combo from the factory default setting, explained California's law that all safes must be left open if/when you sell your home and we also had a very brief discussion on religion. Yes, folks all that occurred in less than 1 hour. (Scouts honor). Overall: Extraordinary/outstanding service. They are really bad! They damage our furniture. They steal your stuff bc I can't believe they could lose it once it's in the truck. They never have enough room so expect to paid more, a lot more than what was agreed upon. The police were out by our house and asked them to move the truck the guy in charged was rude to the police officer and was almost arrested and our stuff was gonna be impounded. He's crazy. Please don't ever use this company. It's really sad you can't trust ppl. read more

7 years ago I had all the faith in the world when I met Andrew that he would do what he promised and it was anything but..... I had him come to give me an estimate to move my one bedroom apartment from San Diego to Joshua Tree. I have a lot of stuff, and many antiques. I also buy and redo and sell furniture, so had a garage full of projects. He gave me a quote after seeing everything and we agreed on his quote. About a week or so went by and I was questioning as to whether or not he really realized how much I had, so I had him come back just to be sure, and he said Yes, I understand and no problem. He told me there would be several there the first day to pack, two the second day and we would move on the 3rd day, I said ok, no problem. First day comes, no one shows up, Andrew arrived around noon and started packing my kitchen all by himself, no one else showed. The second day 5 or 6 show up including he and his wife and he tells me that we will be moving that day???? No way was I ready to do that, but went along with all of them. When they got to my garage, he tells me he cannot pack most of the things in my garage, which was hundreds of dollars worth of my projects to be done. He said "there just is not enough room in my truck"???? My friends and I were in shock, there was no time for me to go and rent another truck, I couldn't dump all that on my friends (I was moving out of town). I ended up having to put all of my belongings out in the alley for a Craigslist free curbside pick up. I lost all my money that I had invested in all that furniture!!! So we take the 3 hour drive to Joshua Tree, they don't get there until nighttime and unpacked until 2:00am, it was a nightmare! So they leave and the next day begins the unpacking, I went out into the front yard and see my needlepoint chair and my oak chair out by the trash cans, thankfully untouched. Then I started opening boxes and find box after box of my crystal and glass all broken. My vintage 3' santa with porcelain face and hands all broken. I watched Ryan Watwood packing my vintage and antique decanters all full of liquor, prior to my move, but have now opened all the boxes and no decanters. I have had them for almost 50 years and they were priceless to me. They were from Holland, Germany and England and have great sentimental value. They are gone. My grandson came to unpack the heavy glass shelves for my elaborate china cabinet and unwrapped the cardboard that they were packed in and everyone of them were broken, they are going to be very very expensive to replace. I contacted Andrew to let him know about everything that was broken and missing and he never acknowledged my contact at all. He claims that he is insured and bonded, but if I were you would not take him at his word. I don't trust him at all. Before you hire them, make sure you see a copy of his bond and his insurance!! Buyer Beware!!! I am taking my time to photograph everything and have estimates made on all the damage., then off to Small claims court. Almost every piece of my wood furniture has been scraped or gouged. They broke the Top off of my China cabinet and did a mickey mouse repair job that didn't hold. They broke a leg off of my second china cabinet for my kitchen. I loved Sammy, he is a very very hard worker and I appreciated him so much. On Point answered my phone call right away and was able to answer all my questions with the best customer service. Aside from doing individual Google research on professional moving companies, I utilized a service called "Thumbtack" which sent out an estimate request to various movers who would then respond within 24 hours. On Point Moving was one of the 3 companies who responded, and incidentally they were the Goldilocks choice of the quotes. The reasons why I chose On Point Moving: - Reasonable price in comparison to others - Descriptive response indicating additional fees and the expected pay - 3 hour minimum (others required more) - They were insured movers - Read some positive reviews Chris and Ryan were the 2 movers who were employed to move my stuff. I had essentially 2 bedrooms to move: a real bedroom + living room furniture + kitchenware. I was expecting them at or around 2-3pm; however, Chris called me around 11am saying they were 20 minutes driving distance away and finished their first move early. I was pleasantly surprised by this. Chris and Ryan both seemed very amiable with bright personalities. They were very responsive, professional, and were respectful throughout the move. We agreed on the estimated pay, and I signed the contract. I walked them through the house pointing to everything to move, and then I simply watched them go. Three wardrobe boxes were supplied, which were returned promptly after the move. They moved all of my furniture into their truck and belongings in one hour! Chris was so kind as to give me a chilled bottle of water at one point. Some things I appreciated: - The little small talk in between, which showed they were still in a good mood while hauling my things - I could tell them how exactly I wanted the furniture in my new place, and they were willing to re-arrange it if it didn't appear to fit in the initial spot - They finished in 2.5 hours! Some things I didn't appreciate: - Sometimes I would notice they would accidentally bump furniture against stuff, though it was all inconsequential incidents such as hitting bushes or little corners (it's your responsibility to pack your belongings well, and there's a reason why they wrap furniture with blankets and tape) - No change if you pay with cash In the end, they had me sign a receipt and fill out a survey. They do not bring cash with them, so expect to pay the full amount without change. It was okay though. To me, the change I had was put towards their tips which was much deserved. I've heard shady stories of companies with terrible attitudes who damage or steal your belongings. Chris and Ryan were found to be very trustworthy and open. They worked well together, and brought so much positive energy to the move. :) I strongly recommend using On Point Moving for your next move-in! read more

My fiancé and I had a task to complete. A storage unit had to be cleared of all her old treasures. We were hunting for a reputable local company, someone who would not try to cheat us. On Point was exactly who we were looking for. Initially we found them posted on Craigslist. We verified them through Yelp. We had worked with Andrew and his additional crew of 2. We wish we could remember their names, but sadly they escape us. They were a great crew to work with. They worked fast and as efficient as possible with the load of stuff we had to move. I had asked them to move a couple things into the garage at my mom's house, and then move a couple pieces from her house to mine. They were pretty big pieces of furniture and they packed them really well. One piece is an antique and they were careful with everything. No damage was done during the entire move. Very nice people, but absolutely incompetent. The movers that came were extremely nice and friendly, but they left so much stuff in our house, left their packing blankets, and threw fragile items like TVs underneath other boxes. When presented with the fact that they left about 6 car loads of items at our prior house, they took no ownership. It also took them 7 days to pick up the blankets. So unfortunate that their quality and service didn't match how nice their people came across during the move. read more

I had to move last minute and On Point Moving came through for me. Ryan and Chris were both courteous and professional and it was a smooth transition from one place to the new place. Once I arrived however I did have some problems putting together my bed and the owner himself made it his mission to help me and I really appreciate it. Honestly I was lost on how to put together the bed and I don't know how I would've done it without him. I feel like this moving company goes above and beyond to make sure that you're satisfied and help you through the transition. I have moved many times while in the military and again in civilian life and I can say that you don't meet a lot of movers like this. Rockstars. These did a great job on one day notice. I moved all my stuff 2 bed, 1 bath, with loft, and a 2 car garage in 3 hours and offloaded into the new place in just under 1.5 hours. I boxed a lot myself but they wrapped all the furniture, beds, and even let me use some wardrobe boxes for my clothes. Highly recommend. Only issue if even worth mentioning was the $50gas charge. On Point was the worst experience of our move. They were over 6 hours late and made nothing but excuses why they wouldn't be able to finish in one day. We moved a small one bedroom condo to a much larger two bed. We had a lot of stuff but not many big items. No refrigerator, no oven, and most everything was prefixed in tubs. Ryan was efficient and did an ok job. However, when the next day came around they kept pushing us later and later in the day until they couldn't make it out. One day beyond what we were supposed to be out! Next day (day 3), more excuses to why they couldn't come out first thing in the morning. Very bad communication and when I reached them, I was blamed for their inability to meet their commitment. This was a Sunday. By about 2:00 PM I started calling around for friends and a rental. Ryan called me back and lectured me to why it was my fault. Ryan, just an FYI, I am the customer, you are the professional mover and your company should have been able to set better expectations. Also, your company did not make me a priority when you could not make the complete move by the second day. Finally Sunday late afternoon another company could have a crew out Monday at 8:30 AM and was on time, sent 4 guys, was completely finished before noon and charged the same as what On Point did even though their rates we're a little higher. Chris, the owner/dispatcher is a crook. When I was calling around for other companies to finish the job Chris answered for another company name and knew who he was talking to. He was rude and tried to rip me off for the cost. He should not be allowed to have a business license, especially where dealing with customers. I will also be making a report with the BBC. I only gave a 1 star report because I cannot do zero. You obviously do not value your customers and should not be in the service industry. read more

Today I moved from my Julian home, one I had loved for 20 years. It had sold quickly, and it was difficult to leave it. This is second time I use their moving service. I had my 5 star review for last service I got so I decide to use them again this time. At start, they made a mistake on the date: the requested date and confirmed date on paper work are both Thursday at 8am. While when I called in at 8:15am that day I was told they were not coming because they thought moving date was Friday. After communications and checking on all email records and paperwork, luckily Andrew was able to confirm that Thursday was the right date and they made a mistake. He promised to come at 10:30am. They showed up on time and made the moving as promised. So generally speaking I am satisfied with their services and which earns them 4 stars. There was one damage for the moving: one leg of dinning room chair was broker which Andrew fixed using wood glue, for which one star less-- reduce 4 stars to 3 stars BTW, no issues in using the yelp deal with them. read more

Absolutely NEVER AGAIN. The owner Andrew was a great,,pitch for why to use this Veteran owned and operated company.. wanting to support Vets i chose to book. Well neither mover ever served our Country. SAM was GREAT and HARD WORKING....but we got 2 guys...so... Initially i was told every truck has at least 5 wardrobe boxes for use...haha had 2. When i called Andrew it was a whole other story...he said the move the guys did that morning bought 3 boxes.. the movers said Not So....before booking i was asked what was being moved....6 miles away. I told him every single thing and he said his guys were so good that the 3hr minimum would get it done....oh NOT.. 1 to 630 and we had EVERYTHING packed and each box easily stackabke....same size. He was great pitching but then arrogant to work with. I mentioned i could have chosen a diff co but liked the idea of supporting VETS...movers werent Vets... when i mentioned i could have used Two Men and a Truck he said their license was suspended. I called them and that was a pure lie. I cant believe a business owner would out right LIE about another business. Oh and the 1st move those guys did that morning was a 2 bdrm done in 4.5 hrs. Oh and in our move no bedroom set ie dresser chest of drawers hope chest...just a double bed. Dining room small table no china cabinet etc....would NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL. read more
