ODA has been our dance home ever since our daughter was a toddler in the tiny dancer courses; Cassie and Kelly are such a dynamic duo.

We decided to check out this dance studio since we saw they were teaching a Kpop class. Luckily…read morethey were teaching 2.0 by BTS and we were excited. This was our first time at the studio. There's plenty of parking, and the studio is on the smaller side, but nice (there's two dance rooms--one larger one and one smaller one). Since the Kpop class was so popular, there were a lot of people, but we were in the smaller room, since it sounded like there was another group training for some sort of performance. Once they left, we switched over to the larger room. Isabel teaches the Kpop classes and she was so friendly and encouraging. She was patient and great at breaking down the dance moves, while moving the class at an appropriate pace. It is a 1.5 hour class, so we finished all the moves with 15 minutes to break into dance groups (not exactly my favorite part, because my brain can't usually learn all the moves in the same class). Of note, they do record the group dances, but you can probably sit out if you want (I just stick around because of peer pressure and low key want to remember how I looked from when I started until mastering the dance). It's also nice that she will be kinda doing the dance on the side to guide you. There's no level listed on the class, so I'm assuming it's all levels. Based on being at other dance studios, I think 2.0 was more of an intermediate level class, but it was very doable! Overall, I really enjoyed my class with Isabel!

Went to 1 heels class here…read more The instructor/owner Izzy was kind, welcoming, and upbeat. She encouraged people to have fun, cheer each other on and say hi to each other. I've been to other dance classes where the instructor wasn't as intentional and had more of a serious and closed off, "get all the moves right" energy, which can be off putting when you're just joining a casual dance class, so this was refreshing! The class was Heels & Grooves and I would say it's beginner friendly! We started with stretching, then practicing walking, then learned the choreo. It was a fun class! Lots of parking available in the plaza. The space was open, bright, and clean. My GPS told me to go to the left when really they were located on the other side. It seems like they have a diverse range of class offerings. I'll def be coming back!

Took me an hour round trip. I showed up at 945 with class 10-1045. No one every showed up. Multiple families waiting outside. Then an obviously enrolled family came up saying I just got a text today has been cancelled. No emails text or phone call notifying us. No professionalism. Very inconsiderate of people's time. I was beyond frustrated & usually I'm very flexible when things happen. I emailed them letting them know what happened & still no reply. Unbelievable.

There's several class types for all genres (kpop, hip hop, popping, jazz funk, house) - for different levels! So many teachers to choose from, recently I've been taking Jepoy's Beg Hip Hop on Friday nights and they've been so fun! I plan to take others! Each class is $25 unless there's a special guest, and you can book the class online or do a drop in when you're there (They accept Venmo on site!) I typically book day of, but best to book in advance when it comes to special guests. I wish there were class packs of some sort because I would love to come more consistently. Parking is pretty easy on Fri nights, but I can't speak for the other days, as it is located in the city. They also have spring performance workshops, which I plan to do in the future! I'm excited to keep coming back!

Teacher - 5/5. Good vibes and taught with the essence of what a dancer should have…read moreStudents - 2/5. Too much talking and not respectful during instruction. Lacks class etiquette. I used to come a few years ago, and I recently started coming back. I was pleasantly surprised because the current batch of teachers is much better than it was before. I took Eddie Mina's class on 6/24/26, and I absolutely loved it. The vibes were great, the choreography was taught thoroughly, and Eddie is an excellent instructor. I'm only taking off one star because I wish students were more aware of dance class etiquette. I understand that dance classes are supposed to be fun, but constantly joking, talking, and being unfocused with your group of friends while the instructor is teaching is disrespectful (not only to the teacher, but also to everyone else who paid to be there and is trying to learn the choreography) It was distracting enough that it made me hesitate to come back to this instructor's class if his crowd of students continues to be like this. (I didn't experience this in Austin's class, so I think the crowd varies by the teacher) In LA, most dance studios and instructors emphasize class etiquette and remind students to stay quiet and focused while the teacher is demonstrating or explaining choreography. I think that really helps create a respectful learning environment for everyone. I hope City Dance Studio can consider reminding students about class etiquette at the beginning of class or by posting a simple reminder on Instagram. I genuinely enjoyed the instructor and would love to keep coming back but the student environment is the only thing keeping me from coming back.

The instructor, Denny, creates an incredibly supportive atmosphere from the moment you walk in -- he's patient, encouraging, and does a wonderful job adjusting each class to match the students who show up that evening, whether they're beginners or more experienced dancers. What really sets this studio apart is the sense of community. The group of students naturally changes from week to week, yet every time you go, you're surrounded by warm-hearted, like-minded people who simply want to dance, connect, and have a good time. It's welcoming to all ages and all dance levels, so no one feels out of place. The variety of dance levels also allows you to continue to your dance journey in the same welcoming atmosphere. Beyond the regular classes, the instructor also shares and sometimes facilitates group activities and events outside the studio, which helps students practice, grow, and build friendships. It truly feels like more than just a class -- it feels like a dance family. If you want a place where you can feel comfortable asking for extra help, meet supportive dance partners, and enjoy a fun, inclusive environment while learning great moves, this studio is absolutely worth checking out.
