The instructor Denmis is amazing he's energy is the best, he makes you laugh, and has made the dance lessons a super fun experience. I walked in on Tuesday as a 65 year old NON dancer and on Saturday after 4 private salsa lessons I feel like I could go dancing and at least hold my own. This is Vallejo's best kept secret! I stopped in for 1 class and was blown away by how fun and welcoming the studio was. I'm now attending classes every day. Denmis is the best dance instructor I've ever had- he's incredibly talented and always has new and exciting choreography. You don't need to have any experience to take his classes. Wow Denny is the real deal! He has to be one of Vallejo's best kept secrets. As a Cuban, I can say it's an honor to learn Salsa from him and I love his music choices. His class is what it would feel like if you went to Havana, Cuba and learned from a local professional dancer. He is a great dancer (ex professional dancer who toured internationally) with tons of energy and a wonderful smile --always laughing and having fun but also super professional. You can tell he puts his heart & soul into dancing. He adapts to the skill level of the people in the room & you will always be learning new & varied dance moves with him. I love the little tips he gives here and there for both guys and girls. Class always goes over and you will get your moneys worth. People in class are also really friendly and looking to meet others/make friends. It does not matter if you have never or have always danced. Denny will meet you where you are, challenge you, and encourage you. I'm not a professional, but that would be the dream if I had the skills of one! For years, I've been telling myself to find a place to learn. I put it off too long. Found CR&R here on Yelp. I went here for the first time with my BF. We took the 'Cuban-Salsa Instruction' class and had a great time learning the basics. I can tell Denny (the instructor) is passionate about dance in the way that he teaches. That's so important. I can't wait to come back to try the Salsa Tone and the Bachata classes. I second Luke's comment! Just finished a class and even as someone who knows how to salsa, Denny (Denis?) could pick up on what my partner and I needed to sharpen up, as well as include some moves we'd never tried before. And this was all at the same time as he was including the beginners and making the class appropriately challenging for each of us. He made me laugh a lot and pay more attention to my form, but also just feel and enjoy the rhythm. It was really enjoyable, and I hope this place gets more reviews and regulars bc I really want it to do well!! It's a very small studio, but the music is powerful, and people walking by on the street get curious as you swing your hips through class. It's totally affordable and it's a good way to sharpen your skills, learn some rhythm, or just have fun and try something new. I think this studio has a lot to offer the Vallejo and surrounding community (I myself am in Benicia). Go enjoy! I doubt you would regret it. :) read more
