If you're looking for a welcoming, upbeat place to learn and enjoy Latin dance styles like salsa, bachata, and merengue in Vallejo, this studio is a true hidden gem. The instructor, Denny, creates an incredibly supportive atmosphere from the moment you walk in -- he's patient, encouraging, and does a wonderful job adjusting each class to match the students who show up that evening, whether they're beginners or more experienced dancers. What really sets this studio apart is the sense of community. The group of students naturally changes from week to week, yet every time you go, you're surrounded by warm-hearted, like-minded people who simply want to dance, connect, and have a good time. It's welcoming to all ages and all dance levels, so no one feels out of place. The variety of dance levels also allows you to continue to your dance journey in the same welcoming atmosphere. Beyond the regular classes, the instructor also shares and sometimes facilitates group activities and events outside the studio, which helps students practice, grow, and build friendships. It truly feels like more than just a class -- it feels like a dance family. If you want a place where you can feel comfortable asking for extra help, meet supportive dance partners, and enjoy a fun, inclusive environment while learning great moves, this studio is absolutely worth checking out. read more

Amazing dance lessons and very enthusiastic instructor. I walked in on Tuesday as a 65 year old NON dancer and on Saturday after 4 private salsa lessons I feel like I could go dancing and at least hold my own. I'm improving every lesson, with patience and hard work with Dennis. Thank you for helping me mark off another bucket list item. Spectacular!! read more

This is Vallejo's best kept secret! I stopped in for 1 class and was blown away by how fun and welcoming the studio was. I'm now attending classes every day. Denmis is the best dance instructor I've ever had- he's incredibly talented and always has new and exciting choreography. You don't need to have any experience to take his classes. He has the ability to teach a beginner or experienced dancer an entire routine during a 1hr class. The best part is that his classes are always really fun. You'll absolutely love it! read more

I stumbled upon Cuban Rhythm and Rumba about a year ago when looking for a studio to take Salsa lessons. Come with an open mind, an open heart, and leave your worries at the door. Denmis Baine Savigne, the Owner/ Instructor is a Professional Dancer, with insurmountable energy, an exuberant zest for life, and a contagious passion for music and dance. Denmis is the real deal, the Best of the Best, and will have you dancing seamlessly to the Afro/Cuban/ Rhythms of Salsa, Bachata, and more before you may even realize. These are not your typical dance classes... come and you will discover a hidden gem and a true maestro of dance nestled in the family community of Vallejo , CA. Not Cuba, Miami, or New York. Vallejo !!! Muchas gracias Denmis for your dedication to your students. You are a very special person. I am most grateful for the opportunity to dance with you. It's been over 2 years since I dropped in for my first Salsa class & I love this studio even more! Over time, I've been able to try almost all the different dance & workout classes; I've also had private lessons, group lessons, social dance & partner lessons. I can honestly say I've enjoyed myself each time. Ultimately, it's an interesting way to get a taste of Cuban culture, meet great people, dance to incredible music & be charmed into burning off calories by Denny. read more

Wow Denny is the real deal! He has to be one of Vallejo's best kept secrets. As a Cuban, I can say it's an honor to learn Salsa from him and I love his music choices. His class is what it would feel like if you went to Havana, Cuba and learned from a local professional dancer. He is a great dancer (ex professional dancer who toured internationally) with tons of energy and a wonderful smile --always laughing and having fun but also super professional. You can tell he puts his heart & soul into dancing. He adapts to the skill level of the people in the room & you will always be learning new & varied dance moves with him. I love the little tips he gives here and there for both guys and girls. Class always goes over and you will get your moneys worth. People in class are also really friendly and looking to meet others/make friends. If you are looking for something fun to do I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone & take one of Denny's dance classes. read more

Patient, upbeat dance instructor. Available classes 5 nights a week. Makes learning to dance fun. I highly recommend him!!

This is a joyful dance studio with a talented and enthusiastic instructor, friendly students, and great music.

I rarely write reviews but this needs to be shared. You must take a class at CRR when you get a chance. Whether you're looking to learn the basic steps or out to add oomph to your already polished moves ...this is the place to be! Denmis does a wonderful job of accommodating all levels. He makes the entire class feel comfortable with his positive energy. The classes are always fun while getting a workout in. It's an awesome dance studio and the prices are affordable. read more

It does not matter if you have never or have always danced. Denny will meet you where you are, challenge you, and encourage you. He should be declared a saint or a national treasure for the work that he does so joyfully, passionately, and well. I danced in his contemporary and Afro-Cuban classes for about three years until I moved out of Vallejo in August. He is one of the most important teachers I have ever had; he helped me become more expressive and complete in my dancing. Go, take a class. Be joyful in your body. No importa si usted baile mucho o nada. Denmis es el mejor maestro. read more

Everyday dancing with Denny is a good day! I'm able to leave life's demands at the door to shimmie and shake my stress away. Two thumbs up! I'm surprised there aren't many reviews for this place. I've been in love with dancing for as long as I can remember. I'm not a professional, but that would be the dream if I had the skills of one! For years, I've been telling myself to find a place to learn. I put it off too long. Found CR&R here on Yelp. I went here for the first time with my BF. We took the 'Cuban-Salsa Instruction' class and had a great time learning the basics. I can tell Denny (the instructor) is passionate about dance in the way that he teaches. That's so important. I can't wait to come back to try the Salsa Tone and the Bachata classes. I've been dying to find nearby dance classes to get some real dancing skills. I'm happy I found a place to learn and express my love for dancing. read more

I've never had any type of dance instruction before and to be honest was intimidated since I know I would need a lot of work. Well Whitney and Dennis are two of the most friendly and patient people I have ever met. I forgot I was being taught and genuinely just had fun. All while learning the basics of Salsa. Dennis is an amazing dancer and is really great with beginners. I would recommend CR&R to anyone looking to learn or improve! read more

I cannot recommend this place enough! Dennis is an amazing dance instructor that will guide you through the process regardless of your dance abilities, and the best part is that he makes it super fun. You get a great workout, sweat lots, meet new fun people and feel happy. It cannot get more Cuban than this, don't miss out! read more

You have to come take a class here! Denny is an incredible dancer and teacher with many years of experience and knowledge of all that is dance. You will have a ton of fun, learn to dance, and get a great workout at the same time. read more

I second Luke's comment! Just finished a class and even as someone who knows how to salsa, Denny (Denis?) could pick up on what my partner and I needed to sharpen up, as well as include some moves we'd never tried before. And this was all at the same time as he was including the beginners and making the class appropriately challenging for each of us. He made me laugh a lot and pay more attention to my form, but also just feel and enjoy the rhythm. It was really enjoyable, and I hope this place gets more reviews and regulars bc I really want it to do well!! It's a very small studio, but the music is powerful, and people walking by on the street get curious as you swing your hips through class. It's totally affordable and it's a good way to sharpen your skills, learn some rhythm, or just have fun and try something new. I think this studio has a lot to offer the Vallejo and surrounding community (I myself am in Benicia). Go enjoy! I doubt you would regret it. :) read more

Denny is one of the best teachers I've ever studied with. He is as passionate about dance as he is about people. He is inspiring, patient, and gifted not just as a dancer/teacher, but as a human being. He and his wife Whitney are just all around amazing people. Whether you take class to learn, for exercise, or advance and refine your skills, you will enjoy doing so with this teacher. read more

Denmis is great! A very knowledgeable and warm human being. One who can accommodate anyone's level. His energy is addicting, his smile encouraging and his passion is incredible. I leave class feeling great, whether I am sweating profusely from a complete body workout or just plain tired from practing salsita with my novio who is learning the steps. Every class is different and exciting, which I love. Affordable as well at only $12 a class. You are missing out if you haven't been yet. read more
