And that we could not learn a dance over a 1.5 minutes. 5 lessons later and the dance was no where close to what we wanted. They continued to force their series of 10 wedding dance moves on us even though during our lessons we asked for specific choreography. Our instructor still had to ask us what our wedding song was by our last lesson. The first lesson we did the dance to our wedding song was the 5th lesson. And by that point we had to change some of the choreography on our own at home so it matched the beat. This was also the lesson our teacher was sick and we were not notified, so we were assigned a stranger who did not know our choreography or song. Which at over $100/lesson this should have been rescheduled. By the end of our 7 lessons, we reworked the majority of the dance on our own time. And should have just stuck to learning it from YouTube. The added bonus was a weekly date night and my husband feeling confident that he is good at ballroom dance. And the dance that we reworked was 2.5 minutes and much better than we what were were taught. They had us doing a hand hold position for our entire wedding dance...

My daughter joined the pre-competition team this year, where she learned more teamwork, goal setting, and sportsmanship skills all the while developing her dance technique even more. DeeAnn keeps up with current choreography, technique and trends in modern dance, yet keeps the dances age-appropriate and CLOTHING APPROPRIATE for the ages of the dancers. Camille teaches hot, Hot, HOT dance moves, Holly teaches amazingly beautiful ballet and technique, Courtney can lock and pop it with all the hip hop swag she has and Meishel is patient and sweet as she teaches the Tiny Tots the foundational moves that will keep them interested for years to come. My daughter hasn't had Elizabeth for a teacher, but I've seen her in action and she has GOT IT! She specializes in ATS (American Tribal Style). I was pretty self-conscious dancing at first, but all the girls in the class ranged from beginner, to a little more advanced. We learn 1-2 new moves per class, drill them, then do an improvisational group dance, led by Leslie. And if you're having trouble with a move, she works with you. Class size ranges, sometimes there's only 3 of us, sometimes 10. So, now to the review about the facility. The room we had designated to us was a bit small. No air circulation, a few windows, but if you know Napa heat, it does not help. And if you're dressed in the proper attire (a 10 yard skirt) you just want to die. I wore socks to dance and they turned black every time, so I don't know if the floors are cleaned. Location is easy to find, just behind Wal-Mart. I don't know about the other classes offered here, I just wanted to rave about Leslie Lew's Belly Dance lessons :)

We decided to check out this dance studio since we saw they were teaching a Kpop class. Luckily…read morethey were teaching 2.0 by BTS and we were excited. This was our first time at the studio. There's plenty of parking, and the studio is on the smaller side, but nice (there's two dance rooms--one larger one and one smaller one). Since the Kpop class was so popular, there were a lot of people, but we were in the smaller room, since it sounded like there was another group training for some sort of performance. Once they left, we switched over to the larger room. Isabel teaches the Kpop classes and she was so friendly and encouraging. She was patient and great at breaking down the dance moves, while moving the class at an appropriate pace. It is a 1.5 hour class, so we finished all the moves with 15 minutes to break into dance groups (not exactly my favorite part, because my brain can't usually learn all the moves in the same class). Of note, they do record the group dances, but you can probably sit out if you want (I just stick around because of peer pressure and low key want to remember how I looked from when I started until mastering the dance). It's also nice that she will be kinda doing the dance on the side to guide you. There's no level listed on the class, so I'm assuming it's all levels. Based on being at other dance studios, I think 2.0 was more of an intermediate level class, but it was very doable! Overall, I really enjoyed my class with Isabel!

She also lets you request whatever kpop song you want to warm up to and is just a great teacher and dancer overall. It is a stress free class where it's ok to make mistakes. Classes are Tuesday nights 8-9:30pm and Saturdays 3:30-5pm. The dance changes every week. You do learn the whole dance in 1.5 hours so it's fast pace, but you don't need to be perfect. I just have fun and don't worry about getting it perfect. She does record it at the end but you don't have to be in the recording if you don't want to. I recommend you bring a water bottle. If you have trouble finding it, it is near Vinnie's Pizza.

I arrived early as instructed to fill out their waiver, however another class was in session and there was no one at the front desk. I'm not sure if this is how it normally is. When their class ended the instructor had me fill out your typical safety waiver. Instructor was nice, friendly, and attentive which I appreciated because I'm new to Pilates and their equipment. She was very helpful in guiding the class but also walking around the room and assisting as needed. It was such a great, effective, low impact workout. The space felt clean. There are cubbies in the front where you leave your stuff and shoes. I was told there were cubbies in the back room if preferred. They are located in a shopping plaza on Jefferson with a parking lot. I recommend bringing pilates/yoga grip socks but I noticed some people were barefoot. They have socks and apparel for sale. Would recommend and would go back.
