My daughter and my husband (her father) had a wonderful time with Christine Blanton teaching them their Father-Daughter wedding dance. My daughter picked the music and Christine put together the choreography to match the words and beat of the song. Christine is a wonderful instructor and full of fun. She has a terrific sense of humor, and put the two of them at ease as she walked them through the steps, then danced them though the steps with music. She broke the whole routine into 3 units of about 45 to 60 seconds each - one for each lesson. Then the final lesson was putting them all together and polishing the presentation - where to be looking, how to keep in sync, how to look more graceful with their arms, and most importantly how to slow down, breathe and enjoy themselves. The lessons were a wonderful experience for the two of them, and Christine was terrific in her approach, her discussion of how to initiate each move (lead foot, hand and arm movements, head position), and key words in each portion of the song on which to trigger each series of moves. They received a standing ovation from everyone at the reception! People are still talking about it. This was a great experience and we would definitely hire her again, and would strongly recommend the same to anyone else for a dance for a special event. read more

My review is long overdue. My husband and I had the pleasure to work with Christine for our first dance. She was very easy to follow with her dance lessons. We were able to dance to our song confidently on our wedding day (2017)and we don't have any dancing experience at all! Thank you, Christine. read more

Excited to stun with our first dance, we reached out to Wine Country Dance. Christine has been absolutely wonderful! She is a seasoned pro. She's choreographed an entire dance to our favorite song, and we feel so confident for our upcoming wedding!! Practicing our dance has been our most favorite part of wedding preparation and has brought us even closer together! Also, neither of us are dancers so don't let that stop you from starting. Christine is also available to help on weekends which was so important for us who have long weekdays. We'll remember our dance lessons with Christine so fondly and hope to practice our dance every anniversary. Thank you Christine! read more

Christine was wonderful in supporting my daughter and I for the Father-Daughter dance at our daughter's recent wedding. We told her the song we wanted (Beauty & the Beast) and when we showed up for our lesson she already had it beautifully choreographed for us. She was very patient, positive and adjusted the dance to fit our skills and preferences. Our 2-hour dance lesson was a memorable highlight of our Father-Daughter weekend in Napa. I'd strongly recommend looking Christine up for any dance lessons, but especially for fathers and daughters. Thanks Christine for making Erin's special day even more so! read more

We took lessons for my daughters wedding in Washington DC. I practiced with him here but we made videos of lessons, sending them to her to learn & practice there. My husband literally has two left feet but they were able to pull off a beautiful father-daughter dance thanks to Christine! I highly recommend her finding her to be extremely experienced, personable & flexible... read more

Wow, Christine is PHENOMENAL! She was so incredibly flexible with my FH and I and made sure that we got enough lessons in before our big day. My FH was a little skeptical of taking any lessons, so I was being very selective - I didn't want a teacher who wasn't relatable or who was too high strung. I was so relieved when we met Christine, and my FH immediately relaxed a few minutes into our first lesson and really enjoyed it! Our wedding is in a little over a week, and I cannot wait to show off our dance moves! Big thank you to Christine for being such a rockstar!! Do yourself a favor and reach out to Christine!! read more

Christine was awesome. We picked an up-tempo current song for our wedding dance and she came up with a beautiful routine. It's clear that she invested a lot of time and effort into choreographing something so ideal for us. We had a blast learning it and it was a hit during our reception. Christine knows her stuff but makes ballroom dancing approachable and fun. Jessamyn & Nick read more

Thanks to COVID, we had very little time to plan our wedding. With only a few weeks to spare, Christine was able to get us in for lessons before the big day. Christine choreographed and taught our dances (husband and wife + mom and son), with just days before our wedding. Thanks to Christine, we looked great during our dances and had so much fun as well! Christine drove to us, was super friendly, and tailored the dances to our songs so beautifully. We only wish we had more time to take more lessons. If you have the time, definitely try to book in advance so you can take at least three lessons, this way you can get every step perfect with Christine's guidance. Thank you for everything Christine, you saved the day! read more

Best instructor - cuts the bs, works with you easily and progress is quick! Also, much less expensive than the chain schools.

Christine you are wonderful to work with and so very talented. You have enriched my relationship with my husband with our dance lessons and you made my heart so happy to see what you did for our oldest son for his wedding we love all your moves read more

Christine is more than a dance teacher. She is a friend that you can laugh with, cheers a glass of wine with, and enjoy the simplicity of life with. My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday by buying us a package of dance lessons with Christine, and I can assure you that it is one of the most sincere and delightful presents I have ever received to this day. For our lessons, Christine curated a personal dance lesson for us each time, each lesson building on the last. She knows fun songs and has an attitude of friendship and knowledge of artistic ballroom dancing. She is a seasoned, dancing professional. Not only did it showcase a side of my partner I would not have known, but it brought out a side of me I didn't know existed! Christine didn't feel like my dance teacher. She felt like a friend I was excited to see each lesson. She is personable, experienced, and more than anything else: FUN! She never made me feel embarrassed for my lack of rhythm, but instead made me feel capable and excited to dance to music I loved. She curated our dancing playlist to music we enjoyed and encouraged my partner and I to savor the moments of romance and siliness between us. I am forever grateful for the gift of dancing Christine gave my partner and I. Thanks to Christine, I never have to feel unequipped when I go to a party or wedding ever again. 5 star review all around! read more

Finding Christine has been monumental for my fiancé and I to choreograph our dream first dance to perform for our wedding! After exploring options with major dance schools in the area, we have found that working one on one with Christine was a much better fit and gave us a more personalized experience, at a much better value. Not only is she helpful during our private lessons, but she's gone above and beyond by sharing videos & content to give us more inspiration with moves & ideas we can work on in between lessons. I can't recommend her enough for anyone looking to choreograph a special routine that will make your first dance unforgettable! read more

My husband and I as well as my parents took dance classes with Christine for our wedding dances. She choreographed our First Dance, Father Daughter dance, and my parent's dance. Christine was exceptional in every way. She made learning ballroom dancing fun and approachable, especially for us who were completely new to it! She is very patient and made intricate, beautiful dance moves very manageable with her step-by-step teaching approach. Christine was highly responsive and communicative to my many emails and even flexible with her scheduling. We had some issues come up last minute in our personal lives and she was able to work with us and accommodate with ease. Working with Christine was truly the most enjoyable part of the wedding planning process! If you choose to take lessons with Christine you will not be disappointed! read more

Wine Country Dance - a bride and groom dancing together - Dance Studios Near Me

Ballroom and social dancing are about more than technique and learning the steps. It's about feeling good about what you're doing and finding the joy in the dancing experience. What I like most about Christine Blanton of Wine Country Dance are her warmth and heart. She can and does teach the steps and form extremely well, her extensive experience as a dancer is clear when I work with her. But more important I think is that she helps me project confidence in what I'm doing. And that makes me want to learn more, practice more, apply myself more. Christine is about expressing the music and the moment and making it feel natural. Before I took my first lesson, I had no particular reason to think I'd be any good at it. I just wanted enough skill to make it through a social occasion. But once I started learning from her, I just don't want to stop. It's fun and interesting, good for the body and good for the brain. If you're looking for an instructor who makes it joyful, Christine is the instructor to choose. read more

We hired Christine to teach us how to perform our first dance for our wedding. Christine is an amazing dance instructor. She taught us a beautiful dance and we actually decided to switch songs on her. she welcomed the challenge and taught us the new dance all in one session. We love Christine! We knew we wanted a choreographed dance, and Christine understood our vision from the beginning! She is very good at instructing those of us with no formal dance experience! And she was also great at adding some "pizzazz" so it looked like we had more experience than we did! Our lessons were so fun, and she came to our home which was so convenient! In advance of the lessons, Christine would prepare the choreography, so you are really getting your money's worth! Trust me, a little choreography takes away the awkwardness of rocking back and forth in front of everyone for 5 minutes! read more

To make a long story short, I gave dance lessons to my husband for Christmas, and you should have seen the look he gave me. He's looking a lot happier now, in fact looking really good after Christine started teaching him. We are just taking dance lessons with Christine for fun, not for a wedding, and we're having a blast. She is a pro, knows her stuff, plays fantastic music for us to dance to (eg. Louis Armstrong), and is a patient teacher. We'd recommend her to any couple or a group of friends looking to learn something new together. read more

Best decision we made! Christine was amazing, she choreographed our dance beautifully and made both me and my husband feel so confident on our wedding day. Neither one of us have much dance experience, but that didn't matter at all. Christine took the time to make us feel comfortable and relaxed, teaching us how to move with the music and enjoy ourselves. Every couple (no matter your dance experience) should take a lesson just to have fun and alleviate some of the wedding planning stress. Worth every penny!! read more

Although I sought out Christine initially for that panic time solution to the "wedding dance", what I realized later was that I was missing about 90% of what Christine is really all about. What she loves to do is teach couples to dance throughout their lives and find the enjoyment of rediscovering your partner. I'm a guy, not graceful and was pretty sure I had two left feet. Christine didn't even think twice about that; she just taught us to have fun with dancing. This is a great time to learn and get ready for when COVID leaves town. Then I'll really get my dancing shoes on! read more

Wine Country Dance is a GREAT place for couples looking for a first dance routine. My husband and I had three dance lessons with Christine who came to our home for all three lessons. We had a list of a couple songs we were considering and Christine sent us some recommendations as well for a first dance song, mother-son song, father-daughting song, etc. We are in no way experienced dancers, and Christine was very patient and encouraging to us. Our routine perfectly fit the song we wound up choosing and wasn't too complicated for us. She would be perfect for any type of dance lesson-I highly recommend! Thank you again Christine! read more

I'm not one to be modest, so I'm certainly not going to start now with this review... I'm a great dancer...BOOM...my fiance would agree. Anyway, beyond the kidding and self promotion, working with Christine to choreograph the elements of our first dance for our wedding was a game changer. Christine has been incredibly patient, well organized and very thoughtful not only about the song we are dancing to, but also about our personality as a couple. She picked up right away on our playful and silly vibe and has had no problem embracing that and having it show in our dance. We've had a great time working with her and I would highly recommend her services to any couple out there looking to make their wedding a perfect evening. If you are looking to add a few key moves to your dance or choreograph the entire thing, Christine is the best resource in the Bay Area and in Napa. read more

I hired Christine to help coordinate our first dance at our wedding, and I have to say she was a fantastic instructor. Neither of us are great dancers and in the three 60 minute lessons we had with Christine she made it really easy to learn. The routine she put together for us went perfectly with our song "You Are The Best Thing" by Ray Lamontagne and was super cute. I also hired Christine to help with my father-daughter dance. My dad is a spunky dancer and I wanted her to help us polish up our performance a bit. It was really important to me that this dance was fun and definitely not too serious and she did a wonderful job putting together the routine. We had one 90 minute session with her the week prior to my wedding and it was perfect for what we needed. Working with Christine from start to finish was a breeze - she was very prompt with communication, travel to us and did the lesson in our home (which was super convenient) and she has a sweet energetic personality. Her pricing is super reasonable which was awesome since wedding costs add up quickly. All in all I would definitely recommend hiring Christine!! You won't be disappointed!! read more

Christine helped us choreograph our first dance for our wedding about a month ago. My husband and I have no real formal dance experience and did not want to look ridiculous swaying back and forth like we were at a highschool prom. We chose to dance to an upbeat-ish song that was a bit challenging to create a routine for (It Just Comes Natural-George Strait). Christine made it work! We felt relieved and confident making our grand entrance having spent 3 sessions with Christine. I'll be honest we forgot a couple of the steps towards the end as we didn't have a whole lot of time to keep practicing the last week before the wedding (so stressful) but we managed to pull it off anyway and our guests loved it! Thanks Christine! read more

We are a "senior couple", and neither of us had any real ballroom dance experience. After losing our spouses following long term marriages, we found one another and decided to marry in a intimate and beautiful ceremony, including a "first dance" to a song meaningful to us. Christine was fantastic! She worked out the routine to our song, and taught us the basic steps on the first lesson. She was ever patient and kind, and reinforced our initial awkward attempts. She was funny, but serious about her purpose. In three one hour lessons in our kitchen, she gave us the skills to dance beautifully at our wedding. (We did practice every day!)
