The Dance Factory is located in the Green Valley area of Fairfield and has classes open to all ages. From young children to adult ballet. Shoutout to Rochelle that works the front desk, she is so kind and very helpful when it came to answering all of my questions inquiring about the adult ballet class. There are a couple of rooms for practice and I most recently started taking adult ballet with Dionna, it's been great. She is very professional, well trained, and goes at a level that we can all follow. It's cute watching all of the young kids leave dance class and their parents picking them up, it can get busy. They have ballet, hip hop, and competition type of classes available. If you're looking for adult ballet, this is a great start and workout! Also great for children ballet and hip hop too!

Excited I found this place! We weren't sure if little girl will like doing ballet or other activities...very happy when I inquired, they offered a free trial. Ever since then, it was history! She had fun, AND wanted to enroll. The staff are all friendly. Especially appreciated the great and friendly communications from their office assistant, Rochelle and Thea their Assistant Director. They made sure I had no questions unanswered. The place is pretty cool for having a monitor outside the waiting area as you wait for the class to be over, you get to view what they are practicing on. I definitely recommend this place if you need fun and rewarding activities for your kiddos. Plus, their website is pretty detailed on what kind of clothing must be worn during class. Friendly teacher, patient and great staff!

Don't bring your children here. I enrolled my child here 2/28 to start first class on 3/3 which was a nice start then the next week there was a substitute. Zero notice and parents aren't allowed in the class so we watch through zoom which this teacher didn't set up until 4pm and class started at 3:45p. Same sub the week after zero notice to parents which is annoying at this point and there's no statement on the website that says we constantly have substitutes. So I decided to send the director an email to address this issue since their office hours are Monday- Thursday 3:30p-8p, Friday 3:30p-6p and something else for Saturday. The director pretty much said this is how it is and we're not changing anything! I unenrolled her from this dysfunctional school!

I took my daughter for her first pointe shoe fitting in the San Francisco location with Elseana…read moreyesterday. We had a great experience! Elseana was very friendly and welcoming when we first arrived. She took her time to examine the fit of different pointe shoes on my daughter's foot to make sure it was comfortable. She also took her time to explain how to maintain the pointe shoe, how to use the extra inserts/covers needed to protect her toes, when it would be time to replace them, etc. They also sell the sewing kit and straps for the pointe shoe. They also sell stockings and regular ballet shoes. Thanks Elseana for a wonderful experience for my daughter's first Pointe shoe fitting! Tip: Set aside extra time to find parking because it's only street parking available.

My daughter had her first pair of pointe shoes fitted here several months ago. It was all so…read moreamazing with all those new shoes and excitement. Don't get carried away. We just discovered yesterday at a different shop that she was poorly fitted, and that her shoes have told a story of wrongly fitted shoes and frustration about her own competency and strength on the shoe. The fitter at a different shop educated us, something the Pointe Shop did not do. The fitter at the other store spent 1.5 hours with us. I remember getting booted out pretty fast at the Pointe Shop because there was someone else coming into the shop. There was no detail, no instructions, no seriousness around the pointe experience. This is not entirely the shop's fault. I blame the studio AND the fitter. Dancers come and go. Kids quit. Little girls just want to look pretty in their pointe shoes, right? I get it. It's business. If you are not a former ballerina mom, then make sure, MAKE SURE, that the studio has educated you thoroughly about the commitment and care because the fitter at the Pointe Shop doesn't. I must have spent thousands of dollars on my daughter's dance education but it has now occurred to me after 12 years that not all dance schools or shops care about the kids. We parents are just dollar signs. So make sure you have a good teacher/studio, and if you don't, then advocate/demand that the fitter takes care and educates your dancer instead of just selling her some shoes. Walk out if she doesn't. I didn't know any better, and they knew it. I've fortunately changed studios and fitters after discovering all this.
