My new favorite nail spot. The space is beautiful, clean, and so inviting. I was able to book an appointment in an hour online, and they have a ton of essie, and OPI colors. They offer tea, water, and wine for beverages and end manicures with a shoulder massage. Each station for pedicures and manicures has access to an outlet to recharge phones/tech. Gel manicures also come with a collagen hand mask to protect skin from UV and moisturize. My technician was incredible. She had incredible attention to detail. She caught a chip in my pedicure and redid it immediately, and made sure I knew to come back if something happened. I also love that this spa had a really diverse staff and clientele. OH NO Spa!!! I can't believe that I'm writing a review of what was once my favorite nail salon. I mean I was that customer who came in religiously twice a month. I also brought my mother in once if not twice a month. Sara and Bella were my favorite technicians. Not only did I get routine service, I often purchased products that they sold.. Love The Nest candles. Well, as it turns out I had to cancel an appointment ( due to a death in the family). I thought maybe a pamper me day would improve my mourning, but the day of the appointment, I couldn't get myself out of bed. Never one to cancel, I felt bad that I took up space with one of my favorite technicians. I tried to cancel online, but was not able to the morning of. Feeling horrible that I had to, I stopped in to give a personal apology to the front desk. Renee, one of the regular front desk receptionist was on when I stopped in. I once again mentioned that I was in mourning and felt bad that I had to cancel. Not one word of condolences was uttered from the front desk. Chloe, the manager in clear view of the conversation never once looked up. Never once acknowledged ( my presence at all). Mind you when I was a paying customer, we exchanged many hellos and thank you greetings. It is not that I was charged a cancellation fee, it was the fact the fee was the SAME FEE as the service... smh I didn't have to go in to explain anything, but did so, as in all the years that I frequented this salon I've never canceled. It was the fact that I have been a loyal customer for over 5 years, a very good tipper and referred many friends to OMG Spa. Sadly/ after years of being clients. The wifey and I will not be returning for services. The turnover rate for employees as well as the quality of services had declined immensely. It seems after they expanded their service l, the quality and attention to detail has gone down. Before every provider offered water or a beverage and they engaged clients while performing services. Now we were not offered any beverages, the service providers chose not to interact with us, but instead spoke to each other in a different language. While I have no issues with this- it's uncomfortable when you only use hand gestures to communicate with me- but you are fluent in English and speak to your coworkers the whole time in your home language. Great nail technician but be careful with the Scams ! I went there to buy a git card for my wife. I asked the GenZ in the front desk what specials they had and they told me they were running a $75 special for Manicure and Pedicure, and the special was valid from Monday until Wednesday. So I asked for availability and they made an appointment for Wed at 3:30 PM. When my wife showed up, the same GenZ in the front desk did not honor the price and told her the special was only valid until 3:00 PM so they charged her full price. Clearly, the GenZ in the front desk knew I wanted to take advantage of the special but pull this fast one, which it is very dishonest. The GenZ refused to take any responsibility. They always go above and beyond -- they offer free wine/beer/water during your service, as well as a complimentary massage with any mani/pedi service. I don't personally use the polish wall but know they offer more than just your usual brands (Opi & Essie of course but also Zoya, Butter London, Smith & Cult, Nailberry, etc). I have been faithfully coming to OMG for years since they first opened and can't count how much money I've spent there between massages, manicures, pedicures, brows and products on myself and my daughters. Unfortunately we will not be going back. I came in for a regular manicure like I always do, but this time my nails began to chip profusely by the very next day. I know manicures don't last long but it should have at least lasted a day. I figured they must have used old polish or something so I went in to OMG the next day to show them how bad it chipped and the front desk girl said no problem we will fix it now. Unfortunately I couldn't get it done right then because I only intended to quickly pop in and show them my nails. so instead she booked me an appointment for later in the week. I went back a few days later only to be told I would need to pay for a polish change. I explained to the front desk girl AND THE OWNER what happened and after 10 minutes of back and forth they both still refused. Btw the owner is always unpleasant so this behavior from her is not surprising. At this point I'm completely over arguing over a mere $15 polish change so I left without getting my nails done. For me it was about the principle, and not the money. I am so disappointed in the low level of customer service and the embarrassment I felt at the front desk as I was treated as though I was the problem. A great customer was just lost over a $15 polish change. Very smart OMG! No apologies, no accountability, no thank you for being a loyal customer for years. Just disrespect and embarrassment. I've lived in the South Loop for over 9 years and have seen a fair share of nail salons pop up. None are quite like OMG Spa. They recently expanded and now offer massages and facials. Soon they'll do hair as well. Anyhow, I started going there right when they opened and it's been consistent every time. The staff is friendly, they have a large polish selection (tons of different brands, colors and chrome/cats eye) and the technicians truly take pride in their work. Upon entering you will notice how beautiful the space is. Open, thoughtful layout, very clean, gorgeous light fixtures with air plants and typically instrumental music is playing. After checking in and picking out your color, your technician will greet you. She or he will offer you a beverage and any place that offers wine is fine by me. You can choose from water, hot tea, red or white wine. They are also BYOB. I've had a little girls night there before. From there, it's all about relaxation. I find if I want to go just to relax and not talk, that's totally fine. If I'm feeling chatty, the techs are so sweet and are great to talk to. I've never felt that my service was rushed. I love the small touches like a hot cloth placed over your hands while soaking off your no chip. They use these fingerless glove things for your hands that contain lotion, which I always love. My favorite part is the added shoulder and back rub after the service is complete. It's always a great experience. My nails always look great, it lasts and if ever I bump or notice an issue after I leave, I can always come back free of charge for the fix. The only downsides are you have to tip in cash (who carries cash) and it's not as walk in friendly on the weekends. Upside is they do have an ATM inside. And it's easy to call and make an appointment. They get so busy. Other than that, while the prices are a bit high, they are in line with everything else in the area. City living is so expensive, but at least you'll look and feel your best after you leave OMG Spa. read more

I REALLY wanted to have a great experience with this place because of all of the great reviews it had on both Yelp and Google, but unfortunately I didn't get the best out of OMG Spa. This is a very long review, but it's an experience that I think is worth mentioning. I went here for the first time a little over a week ago (the 22nd to be exact), and booked over the phone for a dip manicure with tips. I asked for the total price of the service in advance, also mentioning that I had dip on currently. They quoted the price at $65. The majority of dip services that I've gotten in the city come out to this price, so I didn't mind. The lady on the receiving end of the call was very nice as well. I get to my appointment the next day and start to converse with my nail tech. She had mentioned before starting my manicure that she didn't specialize in dip manicures that include tips. She ended up doing my manicure anyways, and it came out really nice for her first time! My nail tech, Erika, was also very accommodating. But soon after my appointment, one of the nails had popped off not even HOURS after I had gotten them done. In the next few days, 7/10 of my nails had popped off. Thankfully I had nail glue on hand, which helped in the mean time before I could revisit the salon to discuss the issue. It's a week later and I went in to share my experience. I had asked for the manager, and there were two ladies at the front desk who quickly asked what had happened. They explained to me that since it had been over a week, and I hadn't contacted sooner, that there wasn't really much they could do to resolve the issue. I stated how I found that very disappointing, considering the manicure wasn't a cheap one. After that, they had offered to redo the manicure for half of the price right then and there. That made me happy to hear, until there were many mishaps that came about in the 2nd dip manicure I'd gotten (with a different nail tech)! The layers ended up being VERY thick (I used the same colors as the time before) and the top coat was very cloudy. Something must've gone wrong in the process, and I'm assuming it was the no-chip top coat that had messed up some of the layers. I wasn't 100% happy with my nails, but I was rushing to get out of there at that point. The receptionist had then told me that the price would be $50, "reducing 40% of the $80 manicure it would've been", so I was told. I made note that this was NOT the price that I had paid prior, and paid the $50 anyways. It felt like a huge scam. I made a quick turn back into the salon because I knew deep down I was unhappy with my final result. It took over an hour to get a tech to file down my nails to a decent thickness. I now have a weird indentation in my nail after the filing process. I spent a total of 4 hours today at this salon to resolve the main issue I had, and ending up leaving with another. If you can learn anything from this...please invest your time and money elsewhere. The $130 (w/ tip) spent was definitely not worth it. read more

I made an appt to have a couple acrylic tips fixed and get a no chip polish change. They used uv gel and the mail tech (Ari) kept repeating that. I told her as long as it blends in with the rest of my nails, that's fine. I was never told that the prices were so crazy. My nails looked great. But I get to the register and I was told its $85, until Ari leaned over and whispered and magically it became the bill increased to $105!! This is the South Loop, not Lakeview or the Gold Coast. It's obscene and you're only covering their overhead of the far too large salon and decor, they're out of their league. I was exhausted and shocked, but took the receipt with me and noticed I was charged for a full set, which I didn't get. I immediately emailed the salon that day with the same details and asked to be contacted. 1 week later, Mariana, the Mgr, still hasn't bothered to call me back. As noted by other reviews, unless you know exactly what you want, you will have bad time and customer service experience. Basically if you need to deal with front desk/manager you will have horrible experience. On multiple occasions they did not acknowledge when they made mistake, did not correct (tried to deceive me and convince me as if they did what I asked for) and charged extra. They will also save your payment method on file without your consent (is that even legal) and charge it if you want to change your appointment less than 24h before the appointment. No one will tell you about this policy until you actually need to change your appointment. If you are interested how horrible can a customer treatment can be, go try this place and change something around your appointment - go with different pedicure then what you originally made appointment for, or try to change appointment time, etc. good luck! read more

I love OMG and have been coming for years but recently I've been told the wrong price or had sudden up-charges that weren't told to me ahead of time. Today I got a full set with gel overlay. I specifically asked the price when I made the appointment and was told $85. When I was picking out my color, the nail tech told me it was the same price for no chip as regular polish so she used no chip colors. When I went to pay I was told it was $105 because of getting no chip polish. The nail tech told the receptionist that she was the one that told me it was the same price but they wouldn't adjust it to the $85 even after telling them I confirmed it was $85 and was told by their employee there was no price difference for no chip. I had the best nail tech I have ever had.... or so I thought. Beyond friendly and bubbly so this isn't an attack on her as a person- excellent customer service. However, I had a pedicure on Friday afternoon for a Saturday wedding. I woke up Saturday morning with EXCRUCIATING pain in my right big toe. The nail bed hurt so bad. It was swollen and red, and the pain increased daily. My toe finally started to turn BLUE. I was in so much pain (like tears) I cut and filed my nail... then I pushed on the cuticle where PUS ruptured out. It was disgusting. Finally gave me relief. I have NEVER had that happen before. Was a tool dirty? Did she cut my cuticle wrong? I don't know but I thought my toe was going to fall off. I also needed a "fill" which I was told they could do. They do not. They use gel to fill in. I actually loved the look, so much more natural. However, it's a LOT longer process and ..... a LOT more expensive which I was not told upfront. For a no- chip that was $105 on a Friday, it was chipped on Sunday. Guys, I wanted to write the place RAVE reviews. But it's not worth it. Save your phalanges from this place. :( read more

This is my favorite nail place in South Loop because all the nail technicians are great. However, the front desk seriously lacks in customer service. On more than one occasion, I have arrived for my appointment and it takes 30-45 minutes to be seen. The front desk does not communicate to clients if a technician is running late or if there will be any delay in services. Communication is key to good customer service; if this trend continues, I will sadly need to find a new nail salon. read more

Then a few days later I received notification that my appointment was changed and now would be a "fix" I asked that I am called again to discuss. This time she calls me she asks me to remove my posts and comments from the different sites I had provided feedback on for a complimentary fix. The ambiance, the vibes, the employees.... they have every color nail polish ever made, they give you tea/wine -- whatever you want. I received a full pedicure and dip powder manicure on Sunday, September 10th. The service was good, until my dip powder manicure chipped on Tuesday. I returned to get it fixed and Wendy only took the polish off the nails that were chipped and re-dipped the others using the powder,  sealing it with the gel top coat polish. I asked for the dip top top coat, and she protested that gel was better for it to last longer. The gel top coat starting coming off the next day and I returned on Saturday, September  16th  to get it fixed. Chloe was my nail tech and performed a new dip powder on all my nails.  Unfortunately, the nails still chipped by Monday, September 18th. At this point I am no longer interested in getting the dip powder nails fixed, as it has been proven that this is not a strong skill of your nail technicians. I paid a total of $98 dollars and am only pleased with my pedicure. I do not recommend dip powder nails. The environment is clean and friendly, but the price is expensive and I can go elsewhere for a good pedicure. read more

I love this place as far as how they do pedicures and manicures. The nail technicians are kind and friendly and my nails always look great. The staff at the desk are not friendly at all. (Mind you, I live in the neighborhood and have been a customer since they opened). They never greet me as if they know me; I always wait 10 minutes or so past my appointment time and any time I have asked "How much longer do you think it will be?" I came here the day before a wedding. Had this appointment scheduled for over 3 months beforehand. I was disappointed how busy they were. There was not an open seat anywhere. Then my friend (the bride) was in communication with the owner the whole time prior to appointment, she was promised that they were able to do what she was showed them. When we got there the tech said they do not have time to do and design. Which then the owner came 10 minutes later saying yes they would be able to. Then when it came time for the design they said they had no one available to do it. They finally bring someone and she was not aware of what was going on or what my friend wanted. Needless to say the "attempt" to make was weak. It was no where near the picture she showed the owner. What she asked for was a regular no chip nude color. They trick was she wants gold foil trim tracing the cuticle line. Very pretty looking. The lady came with rose gold and yellow gold nail polish. Attempted a line but it was nothing like the foil trim. Then she came with a grey metal tape like thing. We asked if she had gold?? She states they didn't but then appeared with the gold one. I felt so bad. She placed on three of her fingers, and it was horrific. It was not even. It wasn't even close to her cuticle. We asked for her to stop. Asked for manager, which then a front desk clerk appears. Not the owner. And in a snotty tone tells us it's our fault for not scheduling correctly. We show her all the messages and she continues to blame us. The gold trim was never fixed. When paying she was charged $90!!! We spent 3 hours there without her nails being finished. I went here after I saw this spas name coming up a lot in one of the groups on Facebook. Thanks to southloop community I was able to find this amazing place. The spa is clean, beautiful, and welcoming. The staff members are friendly and take great care of you from the moment you walk in till you leave. I have gotten my nails done here twice now along with my husband who loves this place as much as I do. My nails have looked amazing both times I went and my husband has loved his pedicures.
