I wish I owned this restaurant. I absolutely LOVE the way they have turned this former church into a restaurant, cleverly named "OMG." There are plenty of tongue in cheek references throughout both the menu and the interior's decor. The building's soaring arched ceilings are fully utilized: a towering staircase to the glamorous choir loft, climbing art installations, and a sanctuary with an altar that is screaming for a DJ. Side rooms have been turned into private party spaces and the unisex bathrooms guarantee you'll never wait in line. All of our food was tasty but nothing really stood out. Mind you, I'm comparing this to all Québécois food, which is unwaveringly incredible, so it was still very, very good. If I came here again, which I 100% would, I'd love to try more of their fantastic looking menu. I'm not sure what prior bad reviews were talking about, but they are quite old. Our service was great, but if it matters we were there shortly after they opened, so there was no rush. Back to me owning this joint, hahaha, this place has such potential and I hope they're living up to it. I'd love to see this place during peak season when it's going off inside. Really fun place! We have visited Sherbrooke for many years now, but this is our first time at this restaurant. We ordered the Gouda Burger and Veggie Taco, both with fries. Very Delicious! We ate in the outdoor patio surrounded by interesting white-tipped high grasses, but we took a tour inside; very impressive as evidenced by all the photos. Prices are on the high side, but not unreasonably so. Quick service, but it was a quiet afternoon. Friendly staff. read more

Service is very slow considering how much you pay for your meal. The few times I have eaten here it has taken between 30 minutes to an hour just to get our orders taken, then minimum 1 hour to get our food. What an amazing transformation from a church into a restaurant. The one thing it didn't lose is that it can still be considered a place of worship. This time however, its the burgers turn. Multiple seating options. Outside on the deck in front of the restaurant, at the bar with open air to the front and a view of the kitchen, a table in the dining room, or even a lounge type area with couches. Pick your mood. Very impressive and imaginative menu. Everything is fresh. Aging meats hanging in a glass front cooler in case you want to take a closer look. Great team approach including front of house, kitchen, bartenders and waitstaff. All working and assisting each other as a well polished machine. Live music in between the bar and the patio in front the day I was there. DJ booth on a second level above the bar. Lots to love about this place. read more

A group of 10 of us were in town for a university event and decided to have dinner at this restaurant. We were intrigued by the fact that it's in an old converted church. But what's odd is that whoever designed the space, decided to NOT take advantage of this cool aspect. Black drapes block out most of the walls and the entire alter! Also, a large tall structure in the middle of the restaurant obscures the tremendously high, beautifully beamed ceilings. What a waste of an interesting space! Another couple of points on the space is that the benches are extremely low. I'm fairly tall and it was really awkward to reach the table. The person sitting across from me was on a chair and so I had to look up at them the entire meal. Very uncomfortable. Lastly, it was poorly lit where we were seated (towards the back). I get that dim lighting adds to the atmosphere but it felt like we were practically in the dark. Again, not comfortable. The service was incredibly slow. Our waiter was nice however we sat for a very long time before he came to take a drink order or clear our plates. The food took about 45 minutes too. A bit long in my opinion. As for the food, well, that was pretty good. Not outstanding. Nothing I'd run back for but decent. A shame really because this could have been a great experience! read more

Didn't realize until after ordering the extent of the sacrilege inside the space from devil horns painted on top of a portrait of a nun to upside down red crosses on the bar. I'm a sucker for unique atmospheres in a restaurant but when it combines that with great food, I'm a super fan. Because we were on the road between vacation destinations, we arrived just as they opened. We were the only ones there for a bit but we were kind of happy about it as this allowed us to roam and take pictures of this awesome place. Yes, it's an old church and they playfully (but discretely) punctuate their modern and chic decor with devilish touches, but I'm not sure why anyone who would be offended by this kind of thing would want to come in and review anyway. What a great time it must be when they have live music- such a cool venue. The food: In our party, we had the beef tartare, pulled pork and blood sausage poutine and the mac and cheese poutine. Everything came rather timely and with a smile from the waitstaff. We all left very full and very satisfied. The only small criticism I could come up with was the parking situation was a little confusing despite the signs. Nothing that ruined our experience in the slightest, though. The waitress told me that for New Year's they clear out the tables and have up to 1.000 people there to party. I don't doubt that it's a fabulous time! read more

Food was ok but definitely overpriced. In the other hand, the waitress was helpful and polite. Unfortunately, the ambience is a desperate attempt at trying to be cool. The music was loud and lame. The defamation of the church was a sad surprise. Upside down crosses didn't add to the quality of the restaurant experience or the food. Sad attempt at being relevant in a society which is quickly losing meaningful values. Nice selection of cocktails. There's only one option for vegetarians, which is a burger that could be replaced in every other burger for a better selection. A GREAT venue. Really awesome outdoor space and fun interior. I can see some great fun happening here on a late Friday/Saturday night. So if you don't need to have the best burgers, come for the ambiance and so so food. The burgers are not OMG. The are 'ok'. They all lack punch and flavor indicating that they aren't seasoned right. Onion rings I liked the most. Fries were blah. Deserts were way too sweet and syrupy. If they get the food right, this place could be awesome. But for now, it's a pass for me. Went after hearing and reading good reviews, however, once we waited 45 minutes for 2 burgers it was not worth it. I asked the waiter if the OMG sauce is spicy because neither my boyfriend like spicy food. He assured us that it wasn't spicy and we would enjoy it. After waiting what seemed like forever for the burgers, we tried them and were very displeased. The sauce was quite overpowering; you couldn't even really taste the cheese or anything else. It was also quite spicy. They didn't have regular ketchup, (much to our discontent), and the poutine had a type of sauce quite dissimilar to typical gravy used by most restaurants. All in all, wasn't worth the $20 per burger or the 45 minutes it took to get them. The space itself was really cool...a transformed church, lit (rather ominously) in red with lots of cool inside spaces and a great outdoor patio. It was the look and the name that got us in but that's where it stops. Nobody was at the front to greet us when we first walked in. After peeking around awkwardly, a server saw us, grabbed 2 menus, and rushed us down to the patio. None of the tables were bussed, so she hastily wiped one down, tossed some silverware wraps on it, and motioned us to sit down. 5 minutes went by before my husband finally got up and retrieved the menus she'd never actually handed us. Still weren't greeted, but a busser placed 2 glasses down for us (without water). Finally, the initial server rushes back over, I ask for a drink list, she only has one in French so I just ordered a martini, we place our orders, and she rushes off again. Drinks arrived quickly after that (my martini was delish and I ended up ordering another), and the food came out quickly enough. I got the Pig's Poutine, which had pulled pork, bacon, and blood sausage in addition to the usual suspects. It was good but so rich I only ate about 1/4 of it. My husband enjoyed his burger and poutine, although he said the burger was overcooked. Overall, clearly understaffed. I've never been before and will never go again, so maybe it was just an unusually busy Monday night. Food was ok and ambiance was different and interesting, but too much went wrong for me to take it seriously. read more

This place is amazing inside and out. Church converted to a restaurant and they did a fantastic job. Perfect bar with televisions that don't ruin the table area. Wine rack is awesome. Outdoor seating is a great view of the hillside. Alcohol prices aren't crazy either. However, this place is all about their burgers. They're not bad but they're over priced. 19.50 for the mens burger and it wasn't huge. It had a lot on it but was extremely tall rather than wide. It broke apart first bite and I had to fit it back on the tiny coffee cup plate and finish with a fork. Face and hands were covered grease, waitress only gave me one napkin. It's interesting. Burgers are pretty cheap to throw together and require very little chef knowledge. Might be a good business model but I think it could do better. That being said, I will come back. The brewery is super basic on food and this is close to the hotel. It is sweet inside. read more

The food and atmosphere were good, but the management and staff are rude. Our bartender spilled a whole beer on me, and obviously that's an accident but the way they responded to the incident is why I will never be returning. We asked for some small compensation because I was dripping in beer, just a free drink at least, anything. The bartender said no so we spoke to a manager and told her about the unpleasant experience. The manager told us he was probably just very busy and he obviously didn't do it on purpose, then she wouldn't stop saying 'I don't know what you expect me to do, change your clothes for you?' She was dismissive and treated us like we were somehow aggressors because we brought it up. We felt totally disrespected and invalidated. If that incident had been handled properly I would have given the place a great rating despite having been covered in 16 ounces of beer, but the staff was not accommodating at all. read more

Left this resturant in tears due to the lack of education and deligence in staff. For context, I am a recovering alcoholic and your establishment served me alcohol after being reassured it was 0%. Prior to ordering I had asked the waiter to double check whether the wine that was used in the non alcoholic sangria was in fact 0% given that some have 0.5%. this might not seem like much for some people but the taste of alcohol and as little % as is it would completely overhaul my recovery and is very triggering. I drank a full glass after the staff reassured me it was 0% but it tasted like booze so we asked to see the bottle used and it was 0.5% right on it. This is like telling someone after asking to double check there is no nuts in a meal and then giving them nuts and an allergic reaction but 10000X worse. I don't think you understand the cost of this mistake. This is unacceptable and if I had drank the entire pitcher alot could have been at jepordy and even now, I'm left feeling triggered and saddened and at risk. The manager did offer to pay for our meal which was kind but this sort of mistake is unreversible and no free meal would make up for the fact that you served me alcohol... Please educate your staff if your menu indicates no alcohol since it's not always the case ..or just take the two seconds to look if you are not sure and not carelessly assume.. Please take measures to ensure this doesn't happen again and be sensitive to the fact that mistakes like this could ruin someone's life. It is to be taken seriously. We ended up leaving the resturant and given it was 830 at night without food, I just spent the night in my hotel crying because there wasnt any places open that had room. read more

the place itself is fantastic the best church conversion i have ever seen the service was friendly and treated this english only speaker very well the selection of locally brewed beer was poor At happy hour the $5 coors light was gently pushed as was a heavy and dark house beer at $6 it was a very hot and humid 40c heat index day so i went with a Heineken which was not a great keg a problem i have seen before in Canada Dinner was good. I had what was called an Angus filet steak, to me it was a rather thin New York cut sirloin of about 6 to 8 oz in size i requested very rare and received medium but the shallot and veal stock reduction was good. The french fries served with it were not crispy but a touch soggy i expect from the sauce while it waited for my server to pick it up from the kitchen. The OMG Sunday was top notch a good vanilla ice cream with a sea salt caramel sauce with lots of chunks of a really good butterscotch chocolate chip cookie on top. the bill for one was $ 50 and the nice chatty server earned a $10 tip So the cost of the meal did not make this a place for repeat visits but the wonderful conversion of the church puts it on the worth a visit list read more

The venue is quite impressive. Great decor and theme. Could have used more use of the fact this place used to be a church...as it seemed like most of the internal intricacies were hidden. The service was friendly but very slow. We were a group of 15 (adults and children) and it took close to an hour before we got our main dishes. Luckily for us, we had beer and entrees that kept the adults busy, and smartphones to keep the kids distracted. When the food did arrive I was impressed with the flavor. I had the spicy calamari to start which were nice and spicy, then the Wagyu Beef burger which was cooked as ordered (medium-rare) and was very flavorful...no condiments needed. The fries were good, but not memorable. Once we were done, it took a while before we got our bill and paid. From the time we got there to the time we left, we spent the better part of 2 hours there...which is too much when you're with children. All in all, if you're looking for a good place to hang out, with no rush, and want some good beer and food, this is the place. read more

Went there for the first time and loved it! We were looking for something different in the Townships area, and OMG completely fit the bill as having a great ambiance, innovative food, and also satisfied our need to have some Vegan Gluten-Free options (wow). The waiter, Nicholas, was friendly, helpful, and attentive: which was good, because a place like this could have had waiters with attitude. Luckily this was not the case at all. I've read some of the other reviews that say it was overpriced, but if you're looking for a value-meal there are other fast-food joints that will fill that bill. This place is offering atmosphere, service, and a distinctively-different experience. I would definitely recommend it to friends, and we'll be back soon! read more

The building is amazing as well as the interior decor. I ordered the pork burger with a side salad. The burger was a bit dry and was very frugal with the blue cheese. The bun was a bit on the dry, almost stale side. I skipped the bun and just ate the burger with my fork. The side salad came dressed with a very sweet dressing (I wasn't offered a choice) and the lettuce pieces were too large to fit into my mouth. The bowl it was in made it difficult to cut the salad (you shouldn't have to cut salad). It was served on a small metal tray, so the metal dishes were sliding around the tray. It was over all a difficult meal to eat gracefully on a date. My date got the pigs poutine, the BBQ sauce on it was super sweet. We got two Molsons (pretty limited beer menu) and with tip our meal was about $60 CAD. The waitress pretty much disappeared after our food arrived and we ended up sitting there for quite some time to get her attention for the check.
