This is a fast paced omakase spot, and the quality and taste of everything is amazing! The counter seats are close together, like most other casual omakase places. Service was attentive and fast. The chef was friendly and made conversation with the customers.

Very good quality amazing experience very kind and the chef was able to modify based on what I needed. Highly recommend!

Amazing sushi experience. You will enjoy it if you like some sauces which elevate the flavor of the fish, (you might be disappointed if you're looking for just plain fish), there was a couple of flavors so it's more complex. I personally liked it. The individual parts were all very well put together with great presentation. The chef was able to help me with my modification and were kind about it. Highly recommend.

I went to this restaurant to celebrate my son's 13th birthday, and it was one of the most memorable celebrations we've ever had. The chef's interaction with us and the warm, friendly service made the entire experience truly special and unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed and comfortable. My son's smile that night was priceless--it truly showed how much he enjoyed the restaurant and how happy and satisfied he was with the experience. We had such a wonderful time, and we will definitely be coming back again!

Niku and gyunan were divine. In the niku, they somehow managed to make the tripe and beef tendon immensely flavorful and tender without being heavy-handed. The fatty beef in the gyunan was crack with the sesame chili oil. The bonito base soup was somehow savory and full-bodied while also being sweet and light, so even though I was about to burst it didn't feel icky. Nothing to note in appetizer land besides the fact that I finally tried monkfish liver and it literally tasted like a salmon-flavored paté. Both surprised and relieved it tasted so normal. Despite the long wait time, it still felt relatively spacious inside, and even with just two people, we got our own booth!

Service was really good and they checked in on us a lot.

But at last, as I searched on DoorDash I stumbled upon this glorious restaurant they call Izakaya Fuku. I was drawn to the adorable names for their sushi roll dishes like "Strawberry Fields" and their Italian Japanese fusion pasta dishes, "Creamy Mentaiko Bacon Pasta" with creamy mayonnaise, spicy cod roe and bacon like are you kidding me? It's a bummer I wasn't more hunger or that I didn't have more bucks in my wallet because I wanted all these dishes. And the Chirashi Don, god it looks so beautiful the way that it's arranged in the photos online. I finally decided on the carbonara. And I was drawn to the fact that it was udon based. Now, I've just been living in hawaii these past years so that Japanese twist on an Italian dish that I just love oh so much really brought me back to missing the islands and the Asian spins they had on cuisines. Now my food may have not come in a jiffy but for after midnight cravings I'd say it was well worth the wait. And my oh my the portion was huge!!!! I slurped that big boy up. It was SOOO delicious and savory. I love comfort food and this had me in carbonara heaven. I loved indulging into every single last bite. By the looks of the picture the restaurant looks lovely, I'd love to stop there and try it in person. Thank you. Thank you! My belly and my heart are very much satisfied.

Decor fun. Service good. Food mostly hits over misses

Loved the more traditional izayaki vibes and I could smell/hear the grill as I walked in. The chicken meatball and the hanger steak were both very tasty, tender, and well-seasoned. I'm not a huge pork belly fan, but I was surprised at the ratio and how it wasnt overly fatty. The king oyster mushroom was kinda buttery in a delicious way and the shiitake was classic with a nice smokey-ness. The unagi don came with well-cooked eel. The accompanying tamago was very smooth and custard-y with a radiating miso flavor that I really enjoyed! Ratio of rice to ingredients was also great! The fried shishito peppers were tasty with the salt and lemon. Food came out quick and staff were polite. Haven't heard of this place until today and I look forward to going back!

There was traditionally an hour wait at least during prime meal time. People would sit in the chairs that lined the entry hallway because it was just that good. Over the years, I spent so many evenings sitting at the yakitori bar meeting other people who also had a deep love for this restaurant. When I came to NYC for a weeks visit, I'd often eat her three times even though there are so many great places to eat. Something happened over the past 5 or 6 years. Maybe it changed ownership? I should have known when I walked in to a restaurant that was half full. Some of the recipes of old favorites have changed. Most importantly, some of the skewers were tough, dry and over grilled. And everything was presented in the same way, and everything slathered in the same yakitori sauce instead of each dish arriving grilled to perfection and presenting itself as its own particular delight executed from the imagination of a chef who truly cared.
