Marriot is a trusted name in the hotel world. I exclusively try to stay at a Marriot or one of their other brands, like the Ritz Carlton when I travel on business. The staff here is amazing! They are life savers! Recently, I forgot to pack ties for an important meeting I had the morning after I arrived (around midnight). On a whim I phoned the hotel during a layover in another state and explained the situation, and they handled it flawlessly. They asked me what kind of tie I wanted (color, pattern, etc), and after they took down my preferences they said they would go out and buy some ties for me to borrow. And sure enough, upon check in, there were a selection of ties to choose from! Life savers. The breakfast in the morning is pretty good. Their All American is legit. read more

My mother and I needed a last minute room and they were very accommodating! The room was spacious and the bed fairly comfortable. Rather inexpensive for last minute booking and for how nice the hotel is. We loved the decor! Upon check in, we went to the bar/lounge for food. My mother got a cran vodka and I got an old fashioned - really good. Ryan, bartender, was prompt and professional. We also had the dinner salad with sherry vinaigrette (to.die.for), tilapia vegetable soup (super tasty) and margherita flatbread. Only complaint is that the flatbread could have been crispier - it was more like eating a pita but the flavors were really good. Not to mention it was 11pm, so it was great they even let us order food in the first place! Overall, excellent stay. Would highly recommend :) read more

Wow. Yes this is a Marriott. But wow. Maybe it's the hotel. Maybe it's Omaha. Maybe I'm drunk. But honestly, the BEST service I've ever received from hotel management. Everything was "Mr." and included a smile. There was never an attitude from staff and always a will to make things easy and pleasurable (kinda like me on drunken weekends...HI-O!). The rooms are great--as soon as I saw the king size bed with an overwhelmingly, almost offensive amount of pillows, I had to dive in. I told my colleagues at dinner that if I wasn't at the meeting in the A.M. that they would probably find me dead amongst a train wreck of pillows. There's a restaurant, gift shop, gym, and pool all in house. Internet is available for a small fee, but my company paid for that so I won't knock a star. There are also more restaurants and shopping located directly behind and in front of the hotel. Patrick is right about a mall being close...but that's also the creepy mall where about a dozen people got gunned down ;-( Debbie Downer. read more

Woof... 2nd time I've been here. I remember the first time being perfectly adequate. this time was different. Lady at the counter was going crazy with a couple people checking in and the phone ringing off the hook. She gets me checked in and I happily head up to room after a very long day. Unfortunately the room hadn't been cleaned and was a mess. So I schlep back down to the lobby for round #2. She got me a clean room this time which is a plus. Unfortunately the AC was broken and it was a bit warm. I should have known something was up when i saw fans sitting in the hallway. As i've been on the road all day I need to connect to the wifi (premium) and plug away some work. Unfortunately the wifi was so slow and inconsistent that didn't happen after an hour of trying. Ok fine.. I'll watch one of the late night shows and go to bed. Unfortunately almost every channel had no signal. meh, I've experienced better sums it up perfectly! read more

Very friendly staff. Clean room. Lots of events going on in the lobby. That was a little distracting and made parking difficult at times, but my room was very far from the lobby, so no issue with noise. I put the Do Not Disturb sign out every morning. When I returned the first day, the sign was gone and the room had been serviced. I was not happy, but I didn't complain until on the night before I was scheduled to check out, the front desk called just to see how my stay had been. I thought that was a nice courtesy, though a bit of an imposition. Since she called and asked I told her about the unwanted room cleaning. Turns out someone else had complained about the same thing. I used to worry about stuff being stolen. I know it's always a possibility, but I've given up worrying about it... mainly because I always ask to not have my room serviced. I'm there for four days and I can make my own bed and for just me, I don't need any more towels than those provided when I walk in the door. If I do decide to have the room serviced, I put my stuff up so nobody is tempted to help themselves to a free electronic device. When I put out the Do No Disturb sign, I don't put my electronics up... so when someone decided to ignore the sign, all my stuff was out for all eyes to see. No, thankfully nothing was missing. It really is the principle. I've seen that many hotels will leave a note at the door that says something along the lines of "We've respected your privacy and not serviced your room. If you need towels, etc." Nobody entered the room any other day, but there was never a note that acknowledged my request for privacy. I like that. I think Omaha Marriott should implement this very simple courtesy. Oh... I also had room service. It was very good, not too expensive and charged correctly - to my card for incidentals, not to my company card, which covered the room. They did have an issue sending the bill to my email. In fact, they never did arrive (they sent it three times). There was a bill slipped under my door, but it was only for the room service. I mentioned this at the desk when I left. He said he'd email me the receipt and I expected the full receipt. It never arrived. I called back and spoke with Faith, who was great and very helpful. She sent two emails that never arrived, but she did fax the receipt. The first time it was just the receipt for the room service, so I had to call back. She figured out what was going on and faxed the full receipt and I was all set. Not sure what happened. I prefer electronic copies of receipts because then I don't have to worry about scanning them to submit them for expense. Anyway, we'll see if maybe things will work better next time. Overall, it's a decent place to stay and yes, I will be back. read more

I was recently at the Omaha Marriott for a few days and I have nothing bad to say about it. My room was on the 5th floor and the King size bed was very comfortable and the desk/work area was also very good. There was (for a nominal charge per day) high-speed wifi available and the room even had a microwave and small fridge along with the coffee maker. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the hotel was very clean throughout. A restaurant and bar were on location as well as a pool, fitness center, business center and there was ample free parking. The Omaha Marriott is right next to the Westroads Mall and is about 7 miles from Eppley airport. All in all, very convenient. The only thing I didn't personally like was the room key/card required for elevator access to floors 5 & 6. The front desk said they would send up any visitors with a key if I called them, which was fine but for me to have to use the key to get the elevator moving was an extra bit I didn't care for; but it didn't detract from my overall experience - now for those who want extra security; floors 5 and 6 are perfect for you. read more

First time staying here as I usually stay at the Courtyard downtown when I business visit OMA. I really liked the locale, proximity to my client, and the amenities. Check in was smooth and the offer of a drink at check in was appreciated. Free parking was a plus, unlike the Courtyard. As other have noted the Exec lounge is wonderfully staffed and is open 7x24, I believe. Also as other have noted, and I agree, this property needs TLC upgrades. My room was very comfortable with a nice work area, fridge, king sized bed, and a large HD TV with all the usual channels. The fitness center was large, clean, and well equipped. There is a Starbucks in the lobby as well for all us caffeine seekers. I did not have time to check out the bar scene or restaurant on this trip. read more

I stay at a lot of Marriotts. This one is just okay. The staff was wonderful. The reason for 2 stars was because this was the worst room service for dinner I've had at a Marriott. It comes in a paper bag, the banner with fries was $19.00 and cheesecake was $13.00 which I wouldn't have a problem with if it had been good quality. The meat in the hamburger has a slight rancid or expired smell to it and the cheese cake usually will be house made with fresh berries or similar. This cheese cake tasted out of a box but also the top was hard like it hadn't been covered for a day or two. Recommend-- Bring food to the hotel from one of the nearby restaurants. read more

Great place to stay, spent about a week there. Everyone working there was a pleasure to meet.

Eve is a gem. We had family in town during a difficult time and the Omaha Marriott made our time here convenient and stress free. The Quality of food was excellent but the quality of service could not be matched. read more

What a wonderful place to stay. I recommend platinum level. The rooms beautiful modern. Concierge Peggy, very attentive to our needs, friendly and caring. I was extremely pleased. The food, great and a glass of cold wine topped of my evening. I will definitely be back. Service on this level beyond bar none. Better then any international hotel I've stayed at. You will not be disapointed!! read more

I had overlooked this hotel for a few years, no particular reason why. I tried it this year and was regretting passing it by before. The rooms, service, convenience are all fantastic! More amazing to me is properties which I've stayed at on this list in OMA that are ranked higher. I don't get it. read more

Just reviewing the food at the chop house downstairs this time. After consuming 23 pounds of BBQ at lunch I needed a salad. They have 4 entree salads and I chose the blackened salmon version. It was fine stuff, lightly dressed and tossed. And the salmon was quite tasty. I only wished for better greens, which is a common complaint of mine. read more

This is certainly not one of the finer Marriott hotels. The room I got was tiny. They gave me a double instead of a King and the beds barely fit in the room, making it very difficult to navigate around. They have done some updates, but a bit more effort would make the hotel a more pleasant place to stay. For instance, the bathtub was an older one with a textured surface that had collected far too much foot grime over time without a really good scrubbing. Despite having a textured surface, it was incredibly slick/slimy. Yuck. The bathroom was tiny as well with barely enough room to set out my minimal grooming supplies. Staff here are very nice. They gave me a complimentary glass of champagne at check-in and I received a free app in their lounge as well. The staff in the lounge are friendly, but the hummus I ordered was just so-so and they pita that came with it was a bit too crusty. They seem a bit understaffed as all of the open tables were dirty and my order took longer than it should have. I have stayed at worse hotels in Omaha, but this hotel is certainly not a favorite. Despite that, due to my company's agreement with Marriott, when I return to Omaha for business, this will likely be where I end up. read more

Spent three nights in two rooms here with family for Thanksgiving. While the location, pool, and lobby are great, the rest of the hotel is a bummer. Service is lacking at front desk and in restaurant. Front desk staff seemed untrained and had a hard time answering basic questions. Restaurant took 40 minutes to bring out breakfast order and most of it came out cold and then took another 20 minutes to redo. Rooms are on the smaller side, dated and missing lots of little things. Concierge club was also a disappointment and was constantly out of the basics (water, snacks, etc.). Aggressive maids loved to wake everyone up at 8:30 with their knocking. Overall, one of the worst Marriott's we've stayed at and will try different hotel next time in Omaha. read more

I really loved my stay here. The front desk ppl are so pleasant and helpful. The room was super comfy - I love Marriott beds! Loved the water pressure in the shower, and the hot water was plentiful. The location is great as there are a lot of restaurants nearby. It's also about a 20 minute drive from Old Market. My only complaint are the drab hallways. The carpets were blood red which was super creepy! It brought back memories of REDRUM from "The Shining" and I was seriously waiting for lil Danny to come around the corner on his big wheel! LOL OK I'm being a drama queen, but overall a great experience here I would definitely stay here again. read more

Though my 4-stars is for the property overall, I have to say the service is 5-star. I stayed at this property while visiting family during a heart-wrenching time. The front desk staff was perceptive and had cards waiting for me at two different points during my stay. The cards were signed by numerous staff with very thoughtful comments and kind wishes. This thoughtfulness meant a lot to me and isn't taken lightly. If you want to stay at a place where people truly care, then this is the spot to be. On a visit a week prior to this, I also noticed conscientious service when the person who was mopping the entry way stopped, looked up, smiled and wished me a good morning. The human connection is noticeable and meaningful. The property itself is unremarkable. It is clean, though in need of updating. The bed is normal Marriott high quality, which resulted in good sleep. The windows are thin so it was a bit drafty with winter happening outside. With renovations, this property could really be a great place since the location is ideal and the service is extraordinary! read more

First, let me say I stay at a ton of Marriott hotels. As a lifetime Platinum member with over 2100 nights under my belt I think that I am a good judge of Marriott properties. This is an older property that has fairly recently been remodeled. The rooms are nice and have over sized TVs. The showers and beds are excellent and the hotel property is well taken care of. Plenty of free parking close to the entrance is really nice. Emily the manager is outstanding (Marriott should be proud) and the hotel staff knows how to take care of Marriott's top travelers. That being said, the gym needs an update which is the only reason why I have taken a star off. This is my go to hotel when I'm in Omaha. read more

The lobby is fine. The rooms are horrible. Talk about lipstick on a pig. The linens were dirty and stained crumbs on the floor. Non working plumbing unless you want your feet sprayed with water. The closet doors would not close and the local office was talking about there being black mold there. I took the pictures of stuff there. Should not be a marriott property at all. read more

Worst so called upper scale hotel I've ever stayed at. Stay at Marriott often because I'm an on the road driver I stay at hotels where I pay more to ignore the issues that go on at lower budget hotels. Well this Marriott is definitely not on an upscale list of mine. All My clothes got stolen out the dryer. I report it to the desk and they don't have cameras watching the laundry room and must not have cameras watching the halls either I've done security before and when and if something got stolen we would dig in our cameras and see what happened. I received no real concern that o just got stolen from no offer of a discount free redeemable gift card discount nothing just oh no sorry and no we don't have cameras. The casualness of it all made me feel like this happens often here. She said she was going to tell the manager and no one has spoken to me or anything. I stayed in rm. 243 on October 2nd I run a business and this is definitely a lacking of good customer service by a so called upscale hotel. Very disappointing and disturbing and their will to help or resolve the problem is what bothered me the most. I would have been better at the Super 8 for all this only difference is the sheets. I'll see if I'm reached out to and will continue to follow up on this review until I am because you need to do better and provide your customers with a better feel of security and concern, shut down, or at least charge Super8 prices of the atmosphere is the same read more

This hotel's been around for a long time. It's in a good location. The parking is free, which is really nice. Our room was fine, clean, comfortable bed. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. The only things is, the hallways are saturated with a strong, vanilla air freshener scent, which for me was bit nauseating. read more

Great front desk and staff attentive to needs. Wonderful breakfast selection with chef attended hot omelette station. Walking distance to nearby plaza with more restaurant choices. Given the situation, this hotel does its best to rise up and deliver. read more

While the staff was very friendly, it was quite obvious this was an old building they slapped some "lipstick" on. If my flight wasn't late, I probably would have left due to the extreme mustiness of the building. I couldn't tell if the carpets were just poorly steam cleaned and just left damp or if it was the whole building. There are caves in the Amazon jungle that are more arid and fresh smelling. Channel line up on the TV made no sense either. I did not try the Internet. Not Marriott quality. Certainly not worth what they were charging. Won't stay again. read more

I spent the last two weeks at this Marriott, and have to say up front it is an embarrassment to their brand. The furniture is updated and the carpet new, and for the most part the staff friendly but that's where it stops. It was evident that this property is older, but where it suffers is in it's upkeep. The outside grounds are fair at best. Weeds growing up around the parking lot, grass looking more weeds than anything else, and the trees not trimmed. The air conditioning in the restaurant never seemed to be on, and they had to bring in fans to keep the place cool enough to stay longer than 30 minutes. Speaking of the restaurant . . . Avoid it, period. Go off site. There are some very nice places across the street that you'll be very happy with. My room was small by comparison to other Marriotts, with a bathroom that I could barely turnaround in. Way, way too small. The staff also doesn't seem to keep up with things. I asked twice to have the temperature lowered in the work out room, but nothing changed over two weeks. The TV in the same room never fixed after 2 weeks. Going back to my room at night I was guaranteed to find a bag full of dirty laundry in the hallway, or a maids cart left out. I just don't get it. Next time when in Omaha I'll use Starwood or one of the other brands. Sorry Marriott, but Omaha is hurting. read more

The hotel has undergone a renovation and the hotel looks good however the service is lacking. The housekeeping is suspect. What hotel doesn't leave an extra roll of toilet paper or Kleenex? There was no hand soap upon Check-In. Service from front desk is not great nor is the professionalism. I asked to be connected to someone and they answered "yea ok". One of the lights by the bed is a "nightlight" which cannot be turned off. I even tried unscrewing the bulb. Still on! read more

Very nice staff, very lively fun crowd at the bar. Lobby area has been updated. I stayed on one of the executive floors. It was pretty old. The bath tub was just not clean. Again the staff was great, they left a fresh rose on the bed. It's unfortunate that the management/owner doesn't update. It's not your typical Marriott. I would have rather stayed in a new Courtyard. I won't be staying here again. read more

It did the job. We were in town visiting family and just needed a place to crash at the end of the evening. It checked the cleanliness boxes, except for the moldy shower curtain. The bed was nicely comfortable, if a little on the hard side. The hallways were kinda Soviet-era. And after I broke a nail, I stopped by the front desk looking for an emery board and was promptly told I could purchase one in the gift shop--what the what? Come again, please? That's a star right there. read more

Watch-out! If you are staying in this hotel, check your bathroom to see if you have shampoo, conditioner, lotion and/or soups upon entering the room. I did not until I was in the shower and had to prematurely dry myself and called the front desk. Instead of waiting for housekeeping to bring the toiletry up, I went to the front desk to pick them up. I must look like someone who just came from the pool holding a bunch of small bottles - not a pleasant experience. btw.. they didn't have soups (the solid one) and I had to use only the shower gel. Aside being a victim of their poor housekeeping management, the hotel was actually okay. The services were good and all interactions with the staff were positive. I also had breakfast there and enjoyed it. The room, furniture and fixture were all dated but still worked well. Not a problem for me. This was an atypical experience for me in the Marriott chain and they probably just got a bad housekeeping manager. Hope this is not the sign that the chain is in decline. read more

This property is one that I have stayed at on many occasions and caters to the business traveler. Their service isn't resort like or spoil you silly but it is consistent and does the job. I have used their meeting and conference rooms as well as hosted many happy hours and dinners. It's much nicer now that they have a Marriott standard type club room on the six floor. Now that guestrooms are all updated they are modern and nice I wish that they updated air-conditioning system as it barely keeps up with large temperature swings or extremes. read more

The hotel is what you can expect for $125. Very nice staff. Hotel and room are nice and clean. Pool deck & room doors need to be replaced. Our tub looks like it had been glazed twice and both coats had major chipping. Unfortunate because the bathroom has been nicely updated with tile and granite (although it's the old-school small bathroom style of room). The housekeeper was the only un-friendly person I ran into (and I left her a tip!). Mom wanted me to say she gave the buffet breakfast high marks. I thought it was fair for the price (we paid +$15 for the room with 2 breakfasts). Wedding reception food was delicious, although there were some service issues (no bread, no plates at the dessert buffet). read more

This is a great full service Marriott hotel, but it is a little far from the airport and downtown Omaha. Since I travel off and on and my boss likes Marriott Hotels I have started to get into them as well. This location has a great concierge lounge with really nice staff. Rooms here are nice and clean. The hotel staff is very friendly and they have a van that will take you places if you do not want to drive (they did for me and my boss). Views are not the best, but the location seems to be not bad as a two shopping areas are close by. I like the big areas for sitting that they have. I believe they are renovating the exercise area which will be nice as it looked a little small compared to other Marriott locations (I was there in Dec 2011). Will have to try the on site restaurant some time in the future it looked pretty good. I would say this is the best Marriott to stay in while in the Omaha area, and really worth it if you have access to the concierge level. Friendly staff and decent location for most people make it a good option to stay at. Overall I give this place 3.5 stars so rounded to 4. read more

I was disappointed. I choose Marriott Hotels for its high standards at competitive rates. My room was small. The mattress was not comfortable because it lacked support; it felt worn. The 2 pillows were quite small. It was clean and quiet, which is very important. The walls are well insulated for noise control: Activities and noise in adjoining rooms and hallways were not noticeable. But, I felt that it was over-priced for the quality and services provided. It was not the 4-star that I expect of Marriott. It barely competed with most 3-star hotels. I do not plan on returning to this hotel. read more

Stayed here for two nights on a business trip, and it was a pretty solid place! I didn't pay for it obviously, so can't comment on that. They have a pretty lively hotel bar in the evenings, with a sizeable crowd of corporate travelers. Really friendly bartenders too. I had their breakfast buffet every morning which was about $15 and way better than expected - there's a man making omelettes, several hot items that are pretty decent, then lots of pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, all the usual stuff. Best part about the place is the free champagne on weekdays between 430-630. And they don't judge when you take many, many glasses. The room was standard but clean, and I think the bathroom was pretty big. Location isn't good for walking to cool stuff, but they have a shuttle that will take you anywhere within 5 miles which is great! Not that I have a choice of where to stay when I travel for business, but if I did I'd return here for sure. read more

First, the pluses: - Front desk staff Very nice, accommodating to problems - offered champaign at check-in - nice workout room - free WiFi (albeit pretty slow and inconsistent Internet service). The minuses: - Carpets are all overdue for a cleaning. - Mildew in the shower (at eye-level when taking a bath). - Stopper in tub leaked badly - had to constantly refill tub during bath. - Pillows and Linens on beds did not smell fresh - smelled like they came out of a smoking room (and found a very long black hair in my bed). - No shampoos, soaps, etc. replaced in my room two days in a row (I had to go to the front desk and get fresh sundries both nights). - No replacement TP in bathroom, I came back to my room to a single quarter roll and the bar to the 2nd mounted TP holder sitting by my sink. - Used drinking glass not removed or replaced in the bathroom. The lack of cleanliness was the worst part of my experience, and when traveling, it's not too much to expect when staying at a $200/night (in Omaha) room. The rates are normally advertised as lower - however its College World Series time, and rates are much higher. For that extra cost, I'd expect a much better experience. This really disappointed me in the Marriott chain. read more

No complaints with staff or servcie, but to echo other reviews here, the property could use a little TLC. For example, the carpets, elevator, door locks, and several other little things felt a bit outdated and run down. Also, in my room (and a friend's on another floor), I noticed an unpleasant odor coming from the drains. It wasn't overpowering, but it definitely smelled like rotten eggs coming up from the pipes. On a positive note, the room I stayed in was nice. The bed was huge, comfortable, and had more than adequate pillows and sheets. The desk and wifi fit my needs, and there were ample outlets to plug in my devices. I enjoyed the stay overall. The full size mirror on the back of the closet door was definitely useful as i got ready for the formal occasion that i was attending, which was the reason for my stay. You could definitely do worse than stay here. It's centrally located in town and has easy access to the interstate. If I got a good rate, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. My first couple nights with tax and fees were over $200 per night, and I don't think that was the best value. read more

This is the worst Marriott that I have ever stayed at. I have reached platinum status with this company. I have never had to switch to three different rooms before. The first room the air-conditioner did not work. The second room was not cleaned properly and it was pretty gross when I walked in. The third room smelled like old musty basement. It was about 1:00 AM when I finally settled into my third room. I walked into the bathroom in the morning and turned around and walk right back out. The ceiling tiles were black with molding stuff coming out of them. The showerhead had a pink hue to it. I loved staying here the service at the front desk and guest services was amazing. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The shower was heaven. I enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. Breakfast buffet in the morning cost money but was delicious. The TV picture was crystal clear and the best picture I've seen. It was close by the zoo and mall which was the main point of the overnight stay. The only thing I wasn't happy with is the waitress that we had was paying more attention to other tables and not so much ours. The cook was an amazing guy with a great personality and went out of his way to make My waffles dessert for breakfast. I will be staying in the future. read more

I have stayed in this hotels a few times on business in Omaha and I have finally added it to my "avoid" list. On the plus side the location is good. Located on 680 and next door to Whole Foods and a few other decent restaurants within walking distance. I did get an upgrade into a suite last time I stayed and I appreciate that. The biggest highlight of this hotel is the Executive Lounge. The lady that works it in the evening is a real joy and I find myself hanging out there for a few hours. However the internet is terribly slow. After each stay I receive a stock email from the manager. I replied only once to comment on the internet and didn't even get a response back. I don't know if they read them. Last time I stayed they appeared to be laying new wiring down maybe for new internet. The internet came and went all night long and made working impossible. The biggest issue for me is mold\damp. I am not normally an allergy issue person but when I stay in this hotel I get some allergy type issues. When it has rained the popcorn ceiling starts to fall onto the 1980's carpeting! I have to think Marriott has this hotel on its "refurb soon" list. Although not full service there are much better Marriott brand hotels in Omaha. I tend to stay at the Aksarben Courtyard or Downtown Courtyard. read more
