I wanted to formally complain about the services provided by Omaha Drain. I contacted Omaha Drain for a clogged toilet in the upstairs main bathroom. Aaron McDaniel and Bart Kephart were the technicians that arrived. Before Aaron even fixed the clog, he was trying to upsell me on additional services. See below. I was told that the cost would be $99 Drain Clearing Special using a snake or rod to clear the line (although right next to the $99 it shows $93 so overcharge $6) in addition they recommended a membership of $99 for future discounts. After several minutes, I was told that they were unable to get to unclog with the snake or rod and needed to pull the toilet in order to gain access to run sewer bale and sewer camera. That was an additional charge of $212. Now the total charge was $431.18. After the technicians left, I noticed that water was leaking into the kitchen directly below where the toilet was located. I immediately called Aaron McDaniel and reported the issue. He made a statement that there was a lot of water when he removed the toilet and more or less stated that "it is what it is". I feel he was unprofessional and never took accountability for the problem he created from removing and reinstalling the toilet. Additionally, informed Aaron that he left a bucket in the bathroom and did not clean up afterwards. I took the initiative and immediately shut off the water supply to the toilet to avoid any further damage to the kitchen ceiling. I contacted the main office and spoke with Stephanie and expressed my concerns regarding the ongoing issues caused by the work that was performed by Aaron McDaniel and his associate Bart Kephart in addition to the water damage that was done on my ceiling. I also felt that Aaron lacked professionalism and his main initiative was upselling additional services. I requested that another service technician/plumber come out to my home and fix the problem caused by the work done the previous day. Stephanie informed me that she would have Cody the Service Manager come out that day at 2 pm. At approximately 11 am, I received a call from Bart Kephart. Bart apologized regarding the service that was done on the toilet and promised that he would take care of the issue by removing and reinstalling the toilet to prevent any further water damage. Bart and one of the other technicians/plumbers came around 12 pm. They removed and reinstalled the toilet and reassured me that the problem was fixed. I asked them again to reassure me that the problem was fixed and they confidently said yes. However, after they left, I went to pick up the towels in the bathroom that were used and discovered a lot of water around the toilet. I immediately called Bart and he said he would be out shortly to look at the water around the toilet. He thought maybe there may now be a crack in the toilet. Bart and his associate came back out and confirmed that there was a leak around the toilet area. I was later informed that the bolts in the tank were causing the water to leak and that I would need to have a tank to bowl replacement and that it would cost approximately $459.03. Please note this was more than what it would cost to install a brand new toilet. I declined. There was never an issue with the toilet leaking previous to having work done to unclog the toilet by Omaha Drain. I feel that because they removed the toilet and reinstalled the toilet twice caused damage to my kitchen ceiling as well as the tank. After multiple calls to Rod Chfat, owner, I have yet to receive a return call. I sent a letter to Rod (again no response) and requested repairs be done on the kitchen ceiling and replace the bolts to the toilet. If I had not taken the initiative to shut off the water supply to the toilet it would have caused major damage. Also, Aaron's main initiative was to upsell me on additional services that were not necessary including Flow Tech Anti-Descale device for $2268; Cast Iron Pipe Descaling for $2215; in addition to a 40 Gallon Water Heater (which I currently have a 50 Gallon which he failed to look at details) for $3475. (FYI, I received other quotes for a AO Smith 50 Gallon Water heater with all the other required parts for less than $2000). Aaron also initially tried to tell me I had outdated pipes which was not true. It is incredibly frustrating when a professional fails to pay attention to details especially when it results in incorrect and potentially costly mistakes and signals a lack of professional diligence. I would never ever recommend Omaha Drain this dishonest, unprofessional company that lacks integrity. For an owner not to take accountability for his employees work, just shows his lack of professionalism. Just read all the other reviews not just on Yelp but other sites including Nextdoor, Better Business Bureau, Reddit. I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience and am sharing this for transparency and documentation. On December 26, 2025, I hired Omaha Drain for a sewer line blockage caused by root intrusion. I was advised hydro-jet cleaning was required and that no other service options were available. Based on that information, I authorized hydro-jet service. After the service was completed, I was presented with a quote of $14,864.40 for full pipe replacement as the only long-term solution. I was also advised that repeated hydro-jetting at approximately $400 per visit could be performed as ongoing maintenance until I could afford full replacement. During service, the technician acknowledged there was still a major root obstruction remaining that could not be fully cleared and that only a small opening had been created to allow flow. After the service, I consulted other licensed plumbing professionals and incurred additional out-of-pocket expense to have the line properly evaluated and serviced. My concern is not that hydro-jetting was performed. My concern is that standard service options were not disclosed prior to authorization, and replacement was framed as the only long-term path, which affected my service decision and resulted in additional cost. Homeowners deserve full disclosure of all service and maintenance options before making urgent and costly sewer repair decisions. We had a main sewer drain clogging issue. They scoped the drain with a camera and we went through all the way to the street. It showed the usual scaling that comes with a 60+ year pipe system. There was an off set on a joint in the middle of the yard that will have to be addressed. They gave me the estimate on that work if I get it done. 5 weeks ago we had Omaha Drain come out to deal with a backed up basement floor drain. The tech ran the camera to look for any blockage. He said the pipes were some of the cleanest he'd ever seen, & that the backup was just a fluke. Paid him $100. Fast forward to today. Basement drain is backed up again so we asked them to come back to check it. No one came or called, so we called to see when someone would be out. The lady answering our call said she would check. She did call back after talking to the guy who came out before & he said there was no problem before so there was no point in him coming back. OUR FLOOR DRAIN HAS BACKED UP AGAIN. Steven S came out yesterday for a $99 drain cleaning special. While he ran a camera down the line, he informed me that he wasn't aware of any company that has an auger that runs longer than 100', and somewhere around the 120' mark he claims that hydrojetting was no longer an option due to how far down the blockage was. When we got to 145', the screen went black and he claimed that he hit the blockage and couldn't punch through. At that point he gave me two quotes. $1,200 for hydrojetting, which he said probably wouldn't work due to the distance, or $7,800 for excavation and replacement of the clogged section of pipe. 5 minutes after he left I learned that pro augers can easily surpass 200', not the 100' that he claimed. Hydrojetting equipment also can easily tackle similar lengths. That proved to me that he was lying, so I got a second opinion. I called Major Drain and they came out the very next day and cleared the blockage at 160' without any issues. Steven was full of more BS than my drain. Stay far away from Omaha Drain. read more

Thanksgiving Week: Monday, noticed that our kitchen drain was running slow, called omaha drain and set up appointment for Tuesday Tuesday: technician came and used a snake to clear my drain. ran water for about a minute to show that the drain was clear. paid him $99 Wednesday: had black water filling up my kitchen sink. called Omaha drain. technician was there later that morning. he brought with him the same tools that he had on Tuesday. the snake that he had used was only 40', so he used his hydro jet. hereI must tell you, never let them use a hydro jet on a clogged drain. the result was black water being sprayed under my kitchen sink and all over my kitchen floor.he was unable to clear the drain and promised to be here on Friday morning and that he would consult with his "master plumber". Thursday: Thanksgiving: all of our preparations were done in our bathroom. our home was the only one in our building that didn't smell like Thanksgiving. Friday: he returned, this time armed with a 75 foot snake that pushed the clog cleanly out in about 30 minutes. charged us $820, we paid that. Retrospect: they knew that I live in a building. I did not hide my hereabouts. they sent their technician into a home wholly unprepared and without the adequate equipment to complete the job. not once but twice. when he finally finished it was apparent that had he brought the longer snake it would have accomplished the task almost effortlessly. I do not blame the technician, he was mislead and not given proper supervision. the management staff at Omaha drain were given notice of this complaint on 12/1. they have never replied. take note that if management doesn't care, their employees will surely follow. I cannot say enough good things about the tech, Larry, that came out to service my sewer blockage. It ended up that I had roots blocking my sewer line, but also that there was a break in the line, which meant it had to be partially replaced costing quite a bit. Larry wasn't pushy, like some other companies, trying to "upsale" me. After the section was replaced, there was another total blockage further on by roots. Larry worked and worked until every bit of the root was gone and the line was cleaned. He was a very nice individual with a very pleasant demeanor and went above and beyond to help us out. Sewer line backed up into our house 1.5. weeks before Christmas. technician (salesman) promised us it would take 6 days to complete our project. He even promised they would work weekends to get it done. 6 days turned into a 6 week/$49,000 hell. They DO NOT work weekends, heck they don't even show up every day. When there, 1/4 of the time they are on their cell phones. 2 failed inspections. This was a complete nightmare. Currently the trench into the house is collapsing in under the sidewalk section they repoured after the repair. According to them, they had to fire 2 people during our job. During excavation of the basement, they decided to pile all of the dirt from the trenches on our living room carpet. Then, after all of that they did not even use the dirt that they piled in our living room, they had to bring in new fill. The two piles of dirt in our house were hauled away. They could have just taken the dirt 10 more feet to pile it outside to begin with. After all of this, they left us with a complete mess. Our entire finished basement was left covered in a thick layer of concrete dust from cutting the trenches without adequate tenting. Additionally they left dirt on the floors, ruined our area rug and left concrete splatter on our doors and walls. Only after complaining did the hire a lady for one day worth of cleaning. Our basement required 2 more deep cleans to get it back to normal. I forgot to mention, they re-concreted the trenches 1/4" above the surrounding floor so, after i complained about that, they had to hire another contractor to come in to grind them down to floor level. I have NEVER left a review before and waited 6 months to write this one so that i would be level headed and cool down. PLEASE never use these crooks. read more

Got a quote to clear a line that was causing food scraps from our kitchen disposal to backup in our basement sink. Was told it would be $560 to hydro jet from the the basement sink to the main line, then they said we should Hydro jet from the kitchen down to make sure it's clear (another $560). I thought that sounded strange. Why would we need to do the kitchen down when everything was obviously making it to the basement sink, then getting stuck there? Got a 2nd opinion. They said they would never Hydro jet a small line because you could blow it out, and doing it from the kitchen down was pointless because water is already making it down there. We have had the worst experience ever. Our sewer backed up.. Start 11 March - 22 April and still counting. What was supposed to be a 5 day job ended up being 6 weeks. They would not come on time (or not come at all those days), never have the parts when they came to house, leave for hours if not till next day, keep failing city inspection. Which they were doing short cuts, which thankfully the city inspector seen. Most of the time they would say they were coming, having us wait for hours and then say "we had an emergency." I guess our house with floor gutted out with expoawd pipes and holes in our wall don't count as an emergency. They had no consideration that we had to leave work every time; use our vaction, which ended up being in the hole. So imagine leaving work for 6 weeks in a row without having vacation time left. But what they was quick to charge a hefty bill. No discount for all the trouble, inconvenience, and failure on their part. Mind you we still have water standing water coming into our laundry room and basement bathroom. DO NOT go with this company. Save your time and energy. First off, they got me scheduled immediately, and the technician was courteous, professional and competent -- no complaints there. The webpage says "$99 Drain Clearing Special. Any Toilet, Sink, Or Drain. Call Omaha Drain Now For Immediate 60-Minute Response". In smaller print it says "*Applicable to Main Sewer Lines Only". So, instead of paying $99, I ended up paying $296.39. I'll be going back to the other company I've used in the past that only charged me $99. I can't see the justification for charging an extra $196.39 to insert the snake into the kitchen line (which I already had disassembled) vs. the main line; it was 30 minutes work with no parts involved, so I figure that's an hourly rate of almost $600! read more

Wow did I have a journey with this company. I originally hired the company in early May to fix a leaking pipe in my garage. I was told this could be completed. I was also told a scope of the piping under my garage warranted being replaced. I agreed to all of this and paid $1000 down payment. I asked when the work could be done, and I was told that hopefully by the following week, but there was no guarantee it could be done that soon. I waited 3 weeks, and after never hearing back, I called back and asked what the plan was for my piping. I was told that the company thought I had canceled the job. I said that I had spoken to no one after paying $1000 and fully expected the job to happen. The company agreed to come out several days later. They worked for a few hours on a Thursday, didn't work on Friday, and didn't come on Monday until I called around noon asking why no one was there yet. On Tuesday, I realized the plumber assigned to the job had never even been told about the piping above ground in my garage. He asked if I wanted this job added on. My jaw dropped. No one knew what the actual work was supposed to be? He said the original tech who had come out a month before needed to come out again, as he had no memory of the job. At this point, I spoke with the office manager to express my frustration. Why was I calling and essentially managing this company? I was told the plumber and tech would come out first thing Wednesday morning. When I received a text Wednesday saying the tech would be delayed by several hours I lost it. Multiple people had told me my project would become the priority after I had gone back and forth with them so many times just trying to get the project started. The owner of the company was made well aware of this cluster by the office manager, and at no point was an attempt made to do any sort of service recovery. Did they eventually do the project? On another plumber's recommendation we hired Omaha Drain to repair our collapsed cast iron sewer system. It was a big four-day job requiring eye-popping destruction of floors. I rated them four of five because they did competent plumbing work, but their finish was not clean, and they were not careful when moving furniture back into place. The workers seemed hurried and harried to close it. Price: $20,000.00. Were we gouged? We called them months later for a simple job, to replace a ball valve. The plumber they sent quoted replacing the $23.99 ball valve at $653.00. And then the ethically questionable additions began. First, for no apparent reason, the main valve "needed replacement," $803.00. Second, replacing it "required" cutting a 14in X 4in hole in sheetrock, with a Sawzall, $486.00. Third, he "discovered" the stop box frozen open, which controls receiving water from the city, $5407.00. All charges followed consultation with the master plumber who appeared outside by the curb in his black Mercedes. When we offered that our home service policy through MUD should cover the stop box repair, the plumber assured us they would not because Omaha is "odd about these things." The total quote was $7299. Because we felt the urgency to act quickly, we paid half down. However, it motivated us to contact the Home Serve office. Contrary to Omaha Drain's assurance, our policy would cover the stop box repair. I called the plumber, less than an hour since, and asked him to return the check and why. No word from him or the company followed. Eventually, I got the business manager to refund the check, minus the $486. That ended the hire. Home Serve plumbers simply oiled the valve in the stop box which repaired it. No charge. Savings: $5407.00. My wife's friend from the gym recommended her brother. He (1) replaced the leaking ball valve; (2) replaced the pipe outside that burst from freezing because the valve leaked; (3) replaced a problematic external faucet and installed a ball valve inside the house to control its freezing; and (4) checked the main ball valve, which was fine. He charged $315.00 for all he did. Add to it the $486 we paid to Omaha Drain (to cut a hole in wallboard!), our cost was $801.00, which is $6498.00 less than the quote from Omaha Drain. Although I do not know that this is the case, the behavior of Omaha Drain is consistent with a policy to take only jobs that insure a return of at least $5000.00. How else can we explain pricing a job at $7299.00 that could have been done for less than $100.00? The plumber who did the ball valve job stated his policy up front that he charged $50.00 per hour plus parts. The extra jobs he did were jobs I pointed to. Honest, competent, and trustworthy plumbers who finish well are available! It is unethical to play customers trust and naivety by adding unnecessary jobs simply to increase the yield. read more

I had 3 different crews working to replace the drainage system under my basement on some of the coldest days this winter. All 3 crews were great. The outside crew, Roy and Blake, had to dig in ground that was frozen solid and then cleaned up the yard beyond our satisfaction and laid a ground cover that contained grass seed to help it recover in the spring. The inside demolition/pipe replacement crew from the Ukraine surrounded the area with plastic that made our basement look like it was in quarantine. They also covered the floors leading to the outside with plastic floor covers. I expected to have dust all over my home, but due to their efforts my house had minimal dust. They put in some very physical work hauling out broken concrete and laying new after replacing the pipes. The 3rd crew of plumbers (Jack and Jake) that took care of the rest of the plumbing, were incredibly thorough with all the large and small details that came up and very personable. They listened to any concerns that I had along the way and made sure that I was satisfied with the results. All 3 crews were very agreeable to work with and very friendly. They came when they said they would be there and put in long hours. I would call them again if a situation arises. The workers themselves I would rate 5 stars. I only gave a 4 because of the expense, but then again what isn't expensive in the home repair business these days? read more

Pretty sure we hired the 3 stooges to do our plumbing. Supposedly we needed both pipes to the street and under the house replaced, I say supposedly because of how shady I have since discovered they are. They began work on 12/18, they frequently just walk in without knocking and leave my front door open allowing my cats to escape. They also broke our water line and couldn't figure out how to turn in off resulting in flooding in my basement and no water for 3 days. They also tried to contract out fixing the water line but decided the other company quoted too much. Their initial city inspection failed because of things that they were already aware of needing fixed. Our yard, basement, driveway and street have been torn up for weeks and for the price we paid work should have been done quicker and better. Do yourself a favor and call someone else. read more

Omaha Drain replaced our main line. They messed up and had to return a month later. They realized they messed up, said they would fix the problem. They re-dug a giant hole in my yard, and have left it there for 4 weeks. Communication is almost impossible at this point. They will respond when there is money to be made; but when it comes to fixing a problem they caused, nothing. When I call the main office, the receptionist says that someone will call me back, they never do. I now have the numbers of the project manger and boss, they are quick to assure me that I am top priority, and yet 4 weeks and multiple permits, no clue as to why this isn't completed yet. I have been told multiple times in these 4 week, that they will be starting the work. The latest was two days ago, the boss told me that they would be by tomorrow and the next day to start working. They showed on and put a safer fence around the hole in my yard and that is it. It is now two days later, no work has been started, and the project manger and boss will not answer their phones. "Priority" is meaningless here. Omaha Drain has serious issues with taking on bigger projects such as line replacement; they have even bigger issues fixing their mistakes. Omaha Drain, despite all their promises, has proven to have questionable quality of work and business ethics. read more

Called in the morning about a kitchen sink clog. Asked about pricing and they said $49 service fee plus what it costs to clear the clog. I asked again if they could give me a rough idea and said no they can't over the phone. When the technician got here he said within 30 seconds kitchen sink is $250 to remove a clog plus the $49 service fee. Called Burton and they said $93 or its free. I won't ever trust Omaha Drain as they seem like a gotcha company. read more

What a drag it is to have a blocked kitchen sink. Luckily I knew to call Omaha Drain due to a previous experience with a blocked toilet at my brother's house. I called in the afternoon & they were able to come the next day. Jesse called that morning to tell me he would be there before noon. He showed up about 11. I took the dogs for a ride in the car so they wouldn't bark the whole time, but Book Guy, my hubby stayed. He reported back to me by phone to describe the black gunk that was coming out of the drain. Apparently there was some problem with the basement floor drain too. Book Guy said it was a big mess. Jesse did a good job cleaning & disinfecting the mess. I could tell something had happened due to a bit of bleach odor but not much mess & the drain works again! I did see that something had sprayed a post, but that was easy to clean up myself. We called Omaha Drain in a panic on a Sunday night. Water was filling our basement and it could not stand overnight. After a brief call, a technician was at our house in an hour. They quoted $200 and they stuck to that price without trying to upsell us anything. (If you have worked with other big name plumbers, you know what I mean). I would have to say be warned before they start snaking your drain,, it's a good possibility they're going to chew a hole through your pipes and they don't warn you before starting it so they may put a hole in your pipe and leave your house and you could have water damage in your basement from improper drain cleaning,, that's what happened to me and it ended up being very costly I would not recommend to anyone read more
