I was in the market for a company to replace a good part of our main drain. I called and as if Backlund was interested and did that kind of work, they said yes. I have a recent camera shot of my system and sent it to them but they said they want to do their own for a couple of hundred dollars I told them I'll pass the footage I sent is plenty good as it was. Backlund Plumbing made 3 trips to my home, 2 for a clogged drain in 3 days' time. Their drain division is separate but owned by the same owner. They snaked the pipes above ground, charged me and left. Then my underground pipes backed up and I had raw sewage in my basement. They had to come out again, snaked it, charged me again and said they would have to charge extra for clean-up, didn't and left. It's taken me four days to clean up the mess. Their charges are excessive. I was asked to sign 3 blank LCD pads and they left. I had to call three times to obtain an itemized copy of the bill. I now have a pipe from my washing machine leaking that wasn't before Backlund came out. I don't dare call them back as my budget for home repairs is maxed out. Next time I will go with a smaller independent union plumber. read more

I found my plumber! I was having a problem with a backflow valve on my house. It fills the pool and I needed it fixed quickly for an upcoming party. Leslie sent George out to look at it right away, and in just two days he returned with the parts and spent the morning replacing it. We have used Backlund Plumbimg for the past several years. Last week, a few minor issues with 2 toilets and a faucet came up and the company sent out Alex to the house. He was professional, polite, and very knowledgeable. He showed me what the issues were and how to possibly trouble shoot this, if the issue occurred in the future. Also gave advice on the faucet being under warranty and to contact the manufacturer who would send replacement cartridges instead of paying for these at a store. We trusted backlund to ensure the lift station in our house was functioning properly and in good condition before agreeing to purchase our house. $1200 later someone named Jake said it was good to go. So we agreed with the purchase of the house. A month later it stopped working and our laundry room flooded. When we called backlund they said Jake no longer works there and sent someone else out. They took one look at the lift station and said it was at the end of its life and needed to be replaced. BACKLUND FAILED TO DISCLOSE THIS INFORMATION BEFORE WE PURCHASED OUR HOUSE. They did a patch up job so it seemed to function for the sale. Given we can not afford a new 5k lift station we asked if they would patch it up again. They got some new parts re used some old parts of another lift station and billed us $1200. So now we are $2400 in to what should have just been 5k in the first place. They should have replaced it initially because now when everything is said and done we will have nearly $7500 invested in this lift station instead of what should have just been 5k to begin with. The parts they purchased will just be replaced because everything would come with the new lift station. On top of that we were billed 6 hours for an electrician who missed a rusted out pipe that connects the lift station from inside to outside. If you spend 6 hours trying to figure out why something does not work you think they would actually examine what they are trying to fix. Unbelievable. We are taking our issue to the better business bureau. read more

I called Backlund two months ago to hopefully take care of a troublesome plumbing issue in my basement that had been going on for some time, I suspect. Smaller, less experienced companies only put a band-aid on the problem so I called a larger company. Zoom Drain was sent out to confirm the broken pipe. That information was forwarded back to Backlund and I was told by Zoom that Backlund would call to schedule an consultation appointment and repair. After a week of no calls I called them to confirm they had the notes from Zoom; they did. Was told they were really busy and they'd make a note that I had called. Fast forward to last week and I had Chris' Plumbing fix the issue because I was tired of waiting. Apparently my job wasn't viewed as large enough or wouldn't generate enough revenue to be acknowledged. You lost out on a $7K project. I will not recommend your services. read more

I had a severely plugged kitchen drain. Drano, plunging, etc. didn't help. I went searching the web for plumbers. I've used Burton in the past - they always try to up-sell you. I've used Mr. Rooter for a similar problem and got hit with a $230 charge - including the annoying "dispatch fee". Backlund scheduled me for the next day and "Mike" showed up right on time. He solved the problem, carefully checked basement pipes to make sure there was no problem. He educated me on the use of Drano and biologics. It took him less than a half hour, and I was happy to pay their $95 one-hour minimum fee. I'll be using Backlund in the future. read more

So far good, called earlier than scheduled, good. Tightened the faucet, that became so loose , checked everything , no leaks, done in 10 minutes Waiting for the bad news..... And the Bill says........ It was painful, but I needed it fixed, I recommend taking a plumber class @ your local Home Depot or lowes, for basic Fixes. Cheryl the reception lady or the one who always answered was rude and seems to not care whether anything gets done ot not, they say a part will be in and the day comes, so you miss work to be home, and surprise it isn't in, then the next day comes and guess what! Parts still not in. When you ask when it will be in they says they don't know!!!!! Wow So over this company they are not customer service sact and they don't seem to care about the fact that you've been waiting and waiting for them to fix the problem. We had an issue with our shower after a botched DIY fix... I waited all day for a different plumber to show up who never did, despite texting me all day that he was on the way. I called Backlund and they had someone out within the hour. The other plumber said "looks like you'll have to replace the entire shower valve." I was extremely happy with my service from Backlund Plumbing. They did a complete check and discovered that my pipes were frozen under our slab. We attempted to send electrical currents but the distance was too far to do it safely. They had a supervisor come for review and did everything in their power to fix. Now that being said, it was our error for not keeping the sink dripping during this freeze. We came to that conclusion as a pro would never suggest that customer was in error but did agree when I brought that up. Even though the temp in the building was ok.....we do not know how deep our pipes are buried and will take more precautions in the future. Backlund Plumbing started a job for me in October 2015 to replace my street shut off valve. Their sub-contractor botched their part of the job so I have not paid Backlund because the shut off is now in-operable. I received invoices for months, which I returned with notes to explain why I was not going to pay for an un-finished job. I left messages with Chris at Backlund starting in November 2015. In 2016, I sent a letter asking if they intend to finish the job. In the last five weeks, I've called every week - with no response. Chris has refused to return any of my phone calls over the past 20 months. I asked to talk to his boss and was told he is one of the owners. read more

Professional and courteous. Our basement laundry room flooded about two weeks after moving into our home (first time home buyers too). We panicked and didn't know what was happening. Backlund came out and snaked it with a huge machine. That machine ended up getting stuck and we had to wait a day for another plumber to help our plumber get it out (this was over a weekend and in the evening). We couldn't use the upstairs toilet or shower as a result but they more than made up for that inconvenience by giving us a free camera inspection of the pipes - which we really needed! They have since come out again to power flush due to the tree roots and so far so good. I've also called them for sink leakage and drain clogging. They always get us in same day and they fix the problem fast. Everyone has been friendly as well. I will continue to call them for all of my plumbing needs. read more

I hired them to put in a new faucet in my kitchen. They had me get the faucet at a local supplier and have it delivered to THEM. First off, they didn't tell me there was a FEE for them to receive the parts and bring them along. I could have easily gone to the supplier and picked it up, as it is LITERALLY 6 minutes from my house. Instead, I paid an extra $50 or so. Secondly, the day of installation, they called me to see if I had the parts. They then checked with the supplier and found out that they hadn't ORDERED it yet. So, I'd rearranged my schedule for nothing, and had to reschedule for yet ANOTHER day. The actual installation was fine, and I really liked their plumber, but the fact that they don't bother to track the jobs to see if they have the parts and the ridiculous fee that they don't bother mentioning will keep me from going back. read more

We called and they said it was the city's responsibility,we asked when it would be done they told us they would check and get back to us. They broke my faucet and didn't offer a replacement. On a routine visit to unclog the sink, the individual broke the faucet (a henry dreyfuss classic design). The sink was old, so the replacements were no longer available. Now we have been stuck with a bad faucet, and have to use the bathtub to wash our hands.
