I have been seeing Dr David Dodds here for a few years now and it's been pretty great! He specializes in glaucoma and he sees a lot of glaucoma patients. Its funny though, I'm probably the youngest patient who gets regularly checked for glaucoma. They have a lot of top of the line equipment for checking glaucoma, they have this fancy camera that takes pictures of my optic nerve and this sphere that you put your head inside for testing your peripheral vision. It's all way nicer than any other eye clinic I've ever been to. One criticism I have is their glasses selection. It's all pretty basic stuff, you're definitely not going to find the newest trends as far as glasses are concerned but if you're just looking for something basic, they probably have what you need. I think they pretty much expect everyone to order their glasses online though, they pretty much immediately print my prescription as soon as my appointment is over, they don't even bother asking if I want to peruse their selection first. If you happened to live nearby, I could see it being convenient to come here just for a regular eye exam just to be able to try on glasses in person. Their prices seemed pretty reasonable to me. Of course for me, I come here for the regular glaucoma check up, the fact that they can take care of my prescription too is icing on the cake. They're also not in the most convenient of locations. It makes it really hard to get here without driving. I often have to get my eyes dilated for the glaucoma screening and I don't trust myself to drive or bike after that. I end up taking the bus, which takes awhile. On the other hand, I would be exceptionally impressed if this kind of facility was conveniently located downtown so I accept the fact that you can't have it all and I don't mind the extra commute to get exceptional treatment. read more

I got a bill with a balance due, which was not owed. I called the billing dept and told the woman that I'd paid in full, and that she has a copy of my benefits card showing my co-pay amount. She said, in essence, "too bad" pay what I show on my computer. She wouldn't review my benefits card to see that I paid what was due. Then, got a 2nd Past Due notice, so I copied my benefits card to show I didn't owe what she claimed and mailed it in to the billing dept. Just got a 3rd notice for the same thing. I'm going to either ignore this and let them Dun me again and then see about suing them and reporting them to the owners of the facility or letting them send it to collections. The Doctor as wonderful and their facilities are good. Their billing department is horrible and causing a lot of stress. read more

My husband and I got new prescription glasses this Spring. While the service itself is good, the billing practice is below par. Having originally paid all due bills, the office now sent a threatening 'final notice' letter for the portion the insurance did not cover, but they never bothered sending a bill for that portion in the first place, so we were unaware. That in my book is horrible business practice and harrassment. Very disappointed. read more

The receptionist was amazing and worked with me to cover payment, I truly love and appreciate her. The nurse who dilated my eyes seemed generally kind but slightly irritated. The doctor told me he had no answer for my ocular migraines which cause at least 90% blindness 3x per month. I was told by a doctor in Canada that I had macular holes but they seem to have been cured since Dr. Wilde said he saw no holes. I appreciate the time people gave me and it is a well equipped office but they did not supply sunglasses after my dilation and said I was okay to drive which I was not. Had to double up on my own sunglasses but still got a headache from driving home and was not warned that dilation drops cause blindness. read more

I have been a patient at Olympus Eye Associates with Dr. David Dodds for years. I have always found this practice to be the most caring, friendly, knowledgeable of any Eye Clincs I have been to and at my age of 78, I have been to several. The office staff is terrific as is are the techs that run many of the eye tests during my visits. I could not be more happy with the care I have received! (My username isn't in the system because I want to remain anonymous) I've been coming here in my early teen years but now that I'm 21, I'm going to find another optometrist. Dr. Brockbank was alright and you know, did his job like any other doctor. There was one appointment where it took so long and while he was performing the exam, there was no enthusiasm out of him and overall felt rushed. The main reason why I want to change doctors is because of the billing part of this facility. I've given them my insurance and the billing lady made it clear that I didn't have to pay anything just for my lens (because I didn't want new frames) and additional add-ons which was over $130, that's fine. 3 months later and I get a statement bill of $245 making it seem like my insurance didn't cover it, when in fact they did. They've sent this bill again a few weeks ago and I think it's ridiculous that they're not up to date with getting on contact with their billing company to stop sending a bill I don't owe. What if an elderly patient received this same bill and called the phone # listed or pay through the website when they don't owe anything?? Other reviews mention that this place only cares about $ and I might have to agree. read more

When we were transferred from Clarus Eye Center, we thought this office was convenient so we went to them, twice. I had a procedure and it was booked for two days instead of one. I asked why it would take 2 days just a couple of days apart. Got some strange answer from the receptionist I'd never had to do a 2 day procedure at Clarus for the same thing. I asked if I would be charged 2 co-pays and she said: No. Got the billing and was charged for 2 visits. They lied to me. They double dipped into Medicare and into me for 2 co-pays. The office finance person said that Medicare REQUIRES that I pay 2 co-pays. Told her I would be looking for another Eye Doctor, along with my wife. I don't like being lied to! read more

I was transferred to this business from another eye doctor. When I showed up for my first visit, the doctor that I was scheduled with wasn't there. When you try to call no one answers. Left messages for three days in a row to inquire about my contact order and still nobody answers. Called the front desk and was told the manager would call me back and they still have not called me back and I'm out of contacts. read more

Don't go there! They don't respect your time or care about your eye issues. I had to wait ONE Hour and 20 minutes to see the doctor. They schedule multiple people at a the same time and just have you seat in different rooms. I was not notify that was going to take over an hour to see the doctor. By the time the doctor arrived I had little time left since I had to go back to work, but the doctor insisted that he can take a look in 5 minutes. Of course 5 minutes will allow him to charge my insurance and keep my copay. We just said everything looks good and gave me a cream that was already opened and used. I did say that I had other concerns and I wanted quality time so he offered to schedule another appointment. Well I am never going back. It was a waste of time and money. They focus on quantity not quality. read more

I'm new to this practice as my insurance changed. I'm glad in changed. When I called to schedule an appointment the staff was so helpful. When I went in for my appointment the staff was wonderful. Very professional but so friendly and accommodating. Dr. Dodds was fantasti, took his time with me and answered all my questions. This was a very positive experience. read more

Consider this review a 'zero' star. Dr Brockbank and his staff are probably some of the most inept people ever encountered. I could go into an entire story about the experience my wife and I had, but it's an Eye Doc... so you can probably assume the standard issues. But when calling into their office, they could at LEAST focus on the person you're talking to and not just start talking to someone else in the office as I am speaking directly to you. And the hidden charges and the "oh, we didn't know you wanted THOSE special hybrid contacts, you'll now need ANOTHER exam (and pay for that one too), and then to hear the doctor say, "well, I suppose I would be 'willing' to look at her eyes again". Uh, okay Eye "doctor". Thanks for your kindness and willingness to provide such a charity... since it was the ONLY exam I asked for when I came to you needing these special lenses. Office full of clowns... stay far FAR away from this office. read more

Do not go to Olympus Eye Associates! This place is way over charged for eye exam and contact lenses prescription. I made the appointment for my son and the receptionist said usually my insurance won't pay for contact lenses fitting and I have to pay $55 upfront! They billed my insurance $405 and the insurance said allowable charged is $253.89. They still bill me $9.46 after I had pay $55 already!!! They couldn't write off the amount. My son's appointment was less than half hour long!!! Way over charged for services read more

There are few doctors that work with children so well. My son had a serious eye problem, which was corrected with glasses. We were able to get my son glasses and cool frames, all the while Doctor Brockbank relating well to him. Now my whole family sees doctor Brockbank. A+++ read more

Dr. Dobbs is extremely professional, competent and has integrity. He actually talked me into waiting a year for an elective procedure that his competitor was trying to pressure me into. He takes time to make sure you understand everything and is very thorough. I highly recommend him! read more

I got a concussion and I have been having quite a few vision problems. My optometrist said I needed to see an ophthalmologist, as the issues I was experiencing were out of his scope of ability. I got an appointment with Dr. Dodds and he said I needed to go on to a Neuro-Ophthalmologist. Due to the insurance I have I need both a referral from the ophthalmologist as well as an insurance authorization, which has to come from the treating ophthalmologist. I have called multiple times to see what the status of my authorization and referral over the past two months. I got responses such as "I am the one who does referrals and I have never heard of this before." and then she simply did nothing. I have explained multiple times what they need to do, even the neuro-ophthalmologist office said they would help walk Olympus Eye Associates through the process - and nothing. They promised return follow up phone calls, and I have NEVER gotten a single call back. I was told they would work on it, and then in a follow up call I made, I was told they were going to try the insurance company today, so they didn't work on it 4 weeks ago like they promised. All the while, I am having medical problems that need addressed. I get major headaches/migraines as a result of the injury and they are debilitating. I am not able to live my regular and full life. If Olympus Eye Associates had taken the necessary steps in the beginning, I could have been well on my way to a treatment plan and recovery and not been in constant pain these last 8 weeks. I do feel Dr. Dodds was very good and I have no issue with him. However, the office staff who have to do all of the follow up are NOT. I have had 8 weeks of non-stop migraines that may have been resolved, all if the office staff would have done their job. read more

Dr. Steven spend quite a bit of time with me during the exam to explain what he was doing with each test and why. I have not seen an eye doctor in 5 years. I found Dr. Steven after a call to Image Eyes in downtown SLC Image Eyes is arguably the best glass and brand selection bar none in Utah. Steven spends a few days a week down there. Oh, and best of all, They take VSP insurance and have a store in Utah county if you're down that way. Highly recommended. read more

If I could give zero stars I sure would- My husband paid well over $500 for a pair of glasses, that he needs to wear all day every day.. The first prescription was done wrong; and the second pair he got within 30 days and he figured he would need to give them a while to kick in, well his headaches have substantially gotten worse and his eyes are not better at all... We went to another doctor and the optometrist told us that the lenses that my husband requires don't even work with the type of frames that they sold him. Why would Olympus not warn him of this! I'm very upset about the amount of money we spent just over 6 months ago, on glasses that Olympus had to have known were completely wrong!... only to have pay another several hundred dollars now, to replace them again with another doctor because Olympus scammed us. We will never use this company again, as far as I'm concerned if they were real doctors they wouldn't have allowed him to make that purchase. read more
