I called three offices in the area, and Steim Family Dentist was the only one that offered to get me in the next day!! Fast forward to procedure day. The front desk employees are welcoming and efficient. The office is clean and cozy. The dental assistant was so cheerful and helpful. She made sure I was comfortable and helped me feel calm. Another woman came in to inject the numbing medication. This woman was the absolute best!!!! I never felt the pinch or the pressure of the injection that I have always experienced in the past! Since several dentists had previously told me it couldn't be fixed, I assumed he meant someday--with an expensive procedure or implant. I certainly didn't think he meant that day! Imagine my surprise when he finished filling all three cavities and handed me a mirror. The fissure was gone! I was in tears. It was all I could do not to hug them both! Dr. Austin Woodland hits all the marks for me. I've had a few cavities filled, and now as of a month ago, a root canal all done by Dr. Woodland and his offices and I am just so very impressed! Dr. Woodland is extremely gentle, quick to problem solve and has excellent bedside manner. He makes sure you are very numb too which for me is a great thing LOL Every appointment is a breeze at their extremely clean and modernly designed Sequim office location. The ladies and gentlemen at the front end of the office are equally polite and very helpful. Overall... I was a bit apprehensive as I had let my dental care go for a few years during the pandemic. I was also apprehensive as he is a newer dentist.. BUT I was very, very wrong!!! Glad I kept an open mind as Dr. Austin Woodland is the best dentist I've seen in my life. Definitely recommend! My husband went here with a severe toothache. The tooth was extracted, and the dentist performed a…read morebone graft for a future implant. No antibiotics were prescribed because the dentist claimed there was no significant infection. We later went to a specialist in Tacoma for an implant evaluation, only to discover the entire extraction site was severely infected. The Tacoma specialist had to perform a deep cleaning, and we were informed the probability of a successful implant is now very low due to how this was handled. Communication from the Sequim office has been terrible. I called twice and was promised a callback, which never happened. After sending a strong email, the dentist finally called, claimed everything was done properly, pointed out that there was actually another tooth that was infected and promised a follow-up email. That email never arrived. In the end, we deeply regret our decision to trust this office with his care. After thinking about this situation I realized that the dentist didn't offer refund. Will actually follow up with insurance about this.
