Dr. Gile was able to see me very quickly and evaluate the situation. I was scheduled for an extraction a few weeks out, as it was not an urgent issue, and when I went in for the procedure, everything about the visit was friendly, relaxed, and positive. Shoot, it almost felt like fun! The office staff is very competent and gentle. They even called me later that afternoon to let me know I had forgotten my prescription mouth rinse. The assistant who got me set up in the chair and who assisted Dr. Gile was very accommodating. I am recovering from a collision, so I needed a neck pillow, and she offered two different types, making sure I was comfortable. I also asked for shaded glasses, and again, two options were offered. The hygienist who administered the novocaine (or whatever is used these days) was an artist. Top-notch technique! Dr. Gile is very relaxed, jovial, and cheerful (but not over the top). He is also supremely competent. I was expecting a much more difficult procedure, but it was over in no time flat. During the procedure, he even asked if I wanted to know details as he went along, I voted "No thanks", so he just let me know the basics, like when I would feel pressure. He called me in the evening to check on me, and again he was very friendly and upbeat. A previous visit a year or so ago to another dentist in a nearby town had left me very upset, panicked, and confused as to my options and feeling like my concerns were silly and irrelevant. From my Dentist Laurel Dental Clinic ...... remember this name if you're in Port Angeles and forgo any appointments there. The letter said they were terminating my visitation rights "due to my repeated refusal of recommended treatment" including a referral for a periodontal dentist. Actually, what happened is I didn't take their referral for a periodontal dentist assuming I could make my own decision. Be careful big brother is watching out. I didn't decline essential treatment as it says in the letter. I declined their referral. I've been going to this clinic for nine years. .... Paying cash and have never had a problem. This is the most obscene letter I have ever received, and I am warning those of you in Port Angeles who use the clinic to terminate your visitation. No wonder this clinic keeps changing Dentists. I bet the pay schedule there is nominal because they keep refusing patients. At this point I drop dead before I would return!!!!!!! Laurel Dental Clinic needs new management!!!!!!

Monday morning got a call from Amber, she was absolutely delightful and directed me to the web page to do some paperwork. She said she will take it personally upstairs to be processed in order to get me in. I had an appointment 2 pm that day, wow. I met the staff and Dr. Irwin came in and introduced himself. Listen folks, he's the nicest dentist I've ever known. He joked with me, "So, I hard you're a big baby" because prior to meeting him I told his assistance I had sensitive teeth; funny guy. The entire office is classy. Very glad they are my dentist office.
