Please Do Not Let your young children go in the chair by themselves!!!…read moreTook small child there for one filling. while he was getting worked on I was in the lobby with my other child I went in to see how it was going and and he had drilled out all my child's teeth and filled them all just for the insurance money. Even if child had that many cavities it wouldn't of been done all in one sitting. It caused my child to fear the dentist. Once damage is done it's done and it stays forever.

The tiniest restroom in the world has a meaningless handicapped sticker on the door but cannot accommodate a wheelchair. After brining these things to the attention of the owner, he is disinterested in rectifying any of these issues. i don't have any complaints about the dental work but the dentist has a poor 'chair side manner' and never comes around the dental chair to speak to you face to face. I've never seen his face. He only speaks from behind and I can honestly say if I saw him on the street, I wouldn't recognize him.

Then they said they didn't take my insurance and so I had to pay over 300$ for something that wasn't done right and then found out they tried to also get money from insurance.

I called my mother's office to let them know that I arrived at Dr. Scharf's office after I arrived. There weren't that many dentists in Port Townsend that at that time did dentistry on teenagers. I told Dr. Scharf some of my jokes about doctors. He smiled. I think he thought I was already graduated. I told him about the sports teams at the high school. He agreed that not enough students are athletes in that school district. He agreed to give me quality advice to keep my teeth as I aged. I noted that Dr. Scharf's receptionist always wanted me to make an appointment at the time I was given a Pop quiz during my Chemistry class. I told Dr. Scharf it's very important for me to have enough time to study for all of the classes and pass all of the tests and quizzes... because I intended to go to a college out of state. He asked me if I wanted a job at his office later. I told him.... I might want to be his accountant. He said... you're taking Mathematics in college. I told him... I intended to become a high school Mathematics teacher after I get a certificate in teaching. I asked for his recommendations on which college one of my former guardians son should go to. Dr. Scharf didn't hesitate. He suggested Washington State University. I suggested that college to that guardian. He said... they would ask the son. There weren't any dentists on the Peninsula who had Saturday appointments way back then.

He has all kinds of music you can listen to, in headphones, while you're there - - a really good and interesting selection. And he'll never patronize you the way my new (now former!) CA dentist did. He'll tease you, fondly - - ever so much nicer! He always worked with me, helping me to make decisions about what needed to be done, STAT, and what could wait.
