During the exam, Dr. Boyack came across as flippant and dismissive, which didn't give me confidence in the care I was receiving. The cleaning later that day was performed in a rough and unskilled manner. I was uncomfortable throughout the appointment and ended up with pain that lasted for weeks. After the appointment, I expressed my concerns and the staff didn't seemed surprised. The next day I was told the cost of the cleaning would be credited to my next visit. When I later decided not to return to the practice due to their inability to give pertinent information and offer timely services, I requested the refund that had been offered and the office refused to issue it. Communicating with the practice to resolve the matter was consistently difficult. They will also tell you that you need to pay them $150 to be evaluated before they can refer you to a specialist. First, you can refer yourself to a specialist and second, this office caused the pain that I needed to be referred for, so that was completely unreasonable. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this practice. In fact, don't walk, RUN from this office!

I was scared to go because I was assaulted in 2007, have PTSD, anxiety, and have lost all of my hearing. I had a zillion reasons to avoid the dentist and I did for 10 years. My mouth really needed help. I consulted one dentist last year first who told me I needed three teeth pulled and it scared the life outta me so I crawled back into my cave and hid. I went and saw Dr. Z because I needed help this year with pain and decided to face the music. Dr. Z is very calm and soothing. He gives you honest answers and lets you decide what to do and also spells it out for you what it will set you back financially. I was relieved to discover that he can save my teeth. I do not need them extracted. I am so glad I went to see him, now he has a fan for life. Just today I had a root canal that was so fast and painless I wasn't sure it even happened. Ha ha, it did. I am not scared anymore and so glad I went to see Dr. Z. His office staff is so friendly and kind. We appreciated Dr. Okunami's work with our child during the process of having braces and the…read moreadjustments. When it came time to have the braces off and move to retainers things with Dr. Okunami's care broke down. Our child had things put on his teeth that broke shortly after they were put on. He had other appliances break as well, and hadn't done anything to create this. Dr. Okunami wanted to charge us hundreds of dollars to have the hardware repaired. This hardware should last for years if not decades and it lasted less than a year. The retainer that was made also broke and that would cost $200-300.00 to be replaced. They didn't have a mold to remake the retainer and it would take a several trips to the office to have this redone. We were unhappy with the follow up care from Dr. Okunami. While we appreciated the care during the braces process it was disappointing to have such different care after we were done with the braces. After spending many thousands of dollars we were surprised to be left with poor follow up care. We have chosen to go elsewhere for better long term care.
