I ultimately flew six hours to undergo RPE treatment with Judy. The procedure was comfortable, and over the following year I noticed meaningful improvements. Some bone regeneration has occurred around my teeth, inflammation has decreased and some teeth have become less mobile, which has given me renewed hope about my long-term dental health. And the Dr had ordered 4 quaudrant gum flap surgery and one tooth removal with bone graft and implant. The day before the extraction I looked for an alternative and found Judy Carroll. She said I was a perfect candidate for RPE. I had her treatment in December. Now as of September after my first dental appointment that allowed probing, I show vast improvement with mostly 123 probing depths. Even the 14 mm pocket is down to 6 and not inflamed or bleeding. That tooth is not out of the woods but it shows signs of responding to treatment and I have hope. Fair warning. Dont think it is all up to her. There is a lot you have to do to win this battle. This is systemic issue and you are responsible for your health. Take the supplements, eat right, get "proper" sleep (including breathing), exercise, and religious oral care. I was scared to go because I was assaulted in 2007, have PTSD, anxiety, and have lost all of my hearing. I had a zillion reasons to avoid the dentist and I did for 10 years. My mouth really needed help. I consulted one dentist last year first who told me I needed three teeth pulled and it scared the life outta me so I crawled back into my cave and hid. I went and saw Dr. Z because I needed help this year with pain and decided to face the music. Dr. Z is very calm and soothing. He gives you honest answers and lets you decide what to do and also spells it out for you what it will set you back financially. I was relieved to discover that he can save my teeth. I do not need them extracted. I am so glad I went to see him, now he has a fan for life. Just today I had a root canal that was so fast and painless I wasn't sure it even happened. Ha ha, it did. I am not scared anymore and so glad I went to see Dr. Z. His office staff is so friendly and kind. He listened to everything I had to say for at least an hour; I really felt listened to. He examined my teeth and gums and let me say anything else I felt might be relevant. He wound up advising me to see my dentist three times a year instead of two, but did not feel I needed periodontal treatment. I was disappointed not to expect to see him again.

Doctor Sul Hong took my case even though I had been turned down by two other Seattle implant specialists. My sinus lining was successfully raised, and it took a lot of bone placement to build up my upper jaw for implants. Dr. Hong carefully monitored my healing (as I have other health issues). I now have implants placed and I am ready for the teeth to be set on the implants. Only local anesthesia was used to not interfere with my healing process and other medications I take. The Doctor is a good listener, and made sure that all of my concerns and issues were addressed before the surgery. I had her do 2 dental implants for me. I am very pleased with the results ! The process was smooth, and most professional. For the first implant I elected to be awake during the surgery. Everything went nicely. The Doctor, and her Assistant, Shauna were efficient and very thorough. (Shauna was so nice, too !) During the procedure they provided me with details on where in the process we were. There was no pain during the procedure. The pain after surgery was just for about one day. It is now over a year later, and I am most pleased with the surgery; the implanted post; and the top tooth. I had a second implant recently. For this tooth I chose to be sedated during the process. The implant went smoothly, and the results are great ! In a few months I will have a follow-up exam with the Doctor, and the schedule the top tooth. I don't remember much from the surgery, but observe that I have a great implant now ! The "support staff" in the office are excellent. The Front Desk staff person was detailed and helpful. The clinical staff were professional, and kind. Throughout the process, there was good attention paid to my comfort; and the overall focus on a "good outcome". Dr. Nagatomo is very experienced and well educated in this profession.
