Youn saw me as an emergency patient in pain with an abscessed tooth that also ended up needing a root canal.

Before finding Dr. Shin, I'd been dealing with a dental issue that my previous office never identified, despite multiple visits. Looking back, I'd recommend avoiding large franchise dental chains--they often have high turnover and less experienced staff. But that's a story for another day. Dr. Shin always takes the time to listen carefully to my concerns and thoroughly reviews my X-rays. She clearly explains all treatment options, including the pros and cons from both a medical and financial perspective--something I've rarely experienced with other providers, especially in dentistry. She referred me to a trusted endodontic office for a root canal, and it's clear she has a strong, experienced network of specialists. Throughout the process, Dr. Shin made sure I felt informed and comfortable every step of the way, which really helped build my trust. Lisa, the receptionist, is also wonderful--always kind, clear, and helpful whether in person or over the phone. She makes scheduling and follow-ups feel easy and stress-free. I truly wish I had found this office sooner. Even though I'm moving to the Issaquah/Sammamish area soon, I plan to keep coming back for any future dental needs. I highly recommend Dr. Shin and her amazing team--they're professional, compassionate, and genuinely care about their patients.

Gotta be honest, Yelp... This isn't a place I'd figure I would ever review. Yet, here we are…read more I found myself in the market for a couple of root canals and my dentist said this was the place to go so I went. The process of getting an appointment was easy, the pre appointment paperwork was awesome. I knew exactly what would happen before I went, which was super helpful. Day of, everyone was nice on my way in. Lots of pictures and shockingly I needed a root canal, actually two. Unfortunately the doctor only does one at a time so I'm not done yet. But he did a good job, I guess. I felt nothing, and didn't even need any pain killers. Nice work. On my way out, it felt a bit off. The receptionist lost a bit of patience (it seemed) when I was trying to set up another appointment. I work, so my availability kinda is wonky and I'm stuck with this lump on the back of my tooth (temporary filling) for two additional weeks until I can get the second filling. To be honest, my tongue is already raw from rubbing against the filling on the one tooth that's been done. So yes, I really want to get in sooner and maybe she had a long day, bit it felt like she wasn't interested in trying to get me in sooner. They did however give me a little gift bag, with water and chocolate and Advil. That was neat. Obviously I'll be back l, so it was a good experience overall. Normally I'd suggest a business I've given a positive review too, however I don't want anyone to have a root canal.... I'm so torn!

I was greeted by Jennifer; whom I spoke over the phone. She reviewed my coverage and Out of pocket cost. The staff welcomed me in and had a consultation with one of the doctor(s). I believe it was Dr. Barrineau who took a look and xray from my dentist. Took another on site and after the review and affirmation of what my dentist and I talked about. I was brought to the front to schedule with Jennifer. Fast forward, I came in for my root-canal today and it went smoothly. I had Chelsea greet me and welcomed me in (I believe is the DA) and then meet with Dr. Barrineau; whom performed the root canal. Throughout the whole process (1 - 1 1/2 hours), I felt at ease and although their was no TV or music. The experience overall was pain-free and smooth. When the procedure was completed, and my questions were answered. I was set to leave. Overall, the whole staff and location was great and would recommend Alderwood Endodontics for your more serious dental needs.

Was…read morereferred to Alderwood Endodontics and saw Birkin Owart on 8/1/24 and had a chaotic root canal experience (my first) which ended with a file getting stuck in my tooth ('file separation'). Dr. Owart specifically admitted his mistake during the procedure. I was told to immediately go and try to get the tooth extracted and start the process of dental implant. I then received a call the next day from Dr. Wu that she would be back from vacation in two weeks and could redo the root canal then. this series of events was very confusing, so there was no way I was going back to this place. I hoped that they would assist in some payment of the high cost of the implant, but claimed they had no liability for the botched procedure. So I'm out of pocket thousands of dollars. Don't go there, whatever you do.

Anyone with tooth pain knows that getting an appointment soon takes first priority and his office staff was so helpful in getting me seen quickly. As a testament to Dr. El-Bahr's skill, my tooth had no pain after my root canal (both times). As a surgeon myself, I can recognize surgical skill. Dr. El-Bahr not only did a great job very skillfully, he also did it efficiently, because I was not sitting in the chair very long having the procedure done. Before I knew it, my procedure was done and I had no pain. I highly recommend Dr. El-Bahr and Silver Lake Endodontics.

I'm a severe metal dentaphobic, as in, I'm deathly afraid of metal dental tools. Not the drill, but the exam mirror, and the metal picks that rattle against my teeth. This is important info for later on. Anyway, when I first walked into Dr. Elbahr's office I was warmly greeted by the receptionist, who had been very thorough in finding out my insurance information prior to my arrival, and had all my paperwork ready for me to sign. I was immediately directed to the exam chair by another friendly staff member who proceeded to do my xrays. Dr. Elbahr walked in, introduced himself, made some small talk, looked at the xrays, did my exam, and then we discussed my plan of treatment. I explained my dilemma, and he assured me he would make me as comfortable as possible during treatment. Both he and his assistant both asked me on separate occassions if I was on any pain, and actually not being in pain surprised them. He told me to call his office if I have any pain before treatment. My actual root canal was scheduled for ten days later (they were booked because it was the end of the year, and everyone is trying to use their benefits). Today, I received my first root canal treatment. As before, when I arrived, I was greeted warmly, and directly seated in a very comfy chair. The doctor came and sat with me, made small talk while he prepared his instruments and whatnot, and assured me that if I became too scared we would take another route, just let him know. He started the numbing injections, numbing spots at a time, and told me if I feel any pain to let him know. I was given a pair of dark glasses, and they turned up the music so I could focus on it instead of the drill sounds. I brought my own headphones though. The treatment went well, he explained everything as it was happening...and when he brought out the stills I just turned my music up. Every time the anesthesia would start to wear off (my body burns it off quick), I would raise my hand, and he'd give me another shot. He sent me home on antibiotics, and I need to go back in two weeks. So far, Dr. Elbahr has been incredible. Friendly, personable, thorough, timely, and definitely professional. He and his staff will take care of you!
