This office is clean, Gaylen has assisted helpfully at front desk thus far, scheduling is easy, and the actual procedure was prompt. The five stars goes to the teamwork of Suha and Dr. Shin. Providing a review to specifically emphasize how impressed I was with their teamwork. As a patient, I really appreciate having a pair of people who easily work together, and provide comfort to the experience. Suha naturally is a comforting person, and Dr Shin appears to know his stuff, and quickly execute. Although my case seems particularly hard to reach, they ensured me all was good for the future, and the office will see me in 8 ish months to ensure all is looking good. (Included in price of procedure) I hope to find additionally that my insurance does cover some of the cost. However am waiting to see how that portion plays out. read more

I visited Dr. Lewina Youn in Mill Creek Endodontics & Microsurgery (www.millcreekendodontics.com) on March 5 for a consultation regarding inflammation in a tooth's root canal. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. First, the assistant tried to take an additional X-ray, which I refused, because I had already provided a clear CBCT 3-D image upon arrival. Then, Dr. Youn briefly reviewed my image, took a quick look at my swollen gum, and immediately told me that the tooth could not be saved due to the risk of affecting a facial nerve. She recommended extraction and an implant, which would cost me around $4,000. The entire consultation lasted no more than seven minutes. At the reception, I was charged $150, which, to my surprise, was not covered by my dental insurance. Seeking a second opinion, I visited another endodontist, inspected my tooth more thoroughly. He assured me that extraction was unnecessary and successfully performed a microsurgical procedure to remove the inflamed canal, potentially saving my tooth for life. Contrary to Dr. Youn's warning, no nerve was affected. The entire procedure cost me $300, and the pre-surgery consultation was fully covered by my insurance. To make matters worse, weeks after my visit, I received an unexpected bill from Dr. Youn's office for an additional $68 for the consultation despite it being brief and, in my case, misleading about my treatment options. Overall, a brief, seven-minute consultation ended up being $218 which feels completely unfair considering the actual endodontic surgery cost only $300 . I don't recommend this clinic. The rushed consultation, dismissive attitude, and high fees left me questioning whether patient care is truly a priority there. I strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion before proceeding with any major dental procedures here. Update: After I posted the review, Dr. Lewina Youn called me and explained that different doctors have different approaches to treatment. In my case, she considered tooth extraction the most appropriate option, since other procedures carry a risk of recurrence. She also refunded the consultation fee and apologized if her attitude came across as dismissive, saying that's not how they treat patients. Overall, I was satisfied with this explanation and the fact that Dr. Lewina Youn does care about her patients' feelings. Unfortunately I found myself in need of a root canal. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Dr. Youn is in-network with Premera Blue Cross and bills on behalf of their clients. Over payment refunds are completed via check. Due to my high anxiety, my treatment consisted of two visits, the evaluation and the root canal procedure. During my evaluation appointment, Dr. Youn was empathetic and understanding to all of my questions and concerns. Dr. Youn patiently and clearly explained all of my options. My evaluation visit consisted of a visual exam as well as X-rays. I elected to have the Cone Beam CT scan for $100 (paid at time of visit) performed to verify if I truly had an abscess. This scan showed that I did indeed have an abscess. I chose not to proceed with the root canal at this time due to anxiety. Dr. Youn prescribed me Valium to ease my mind and body. Since I elected to have Valium, I was required to have a driver with me during the procedure. Be sure to advise your driver that a root canal takes about 1-1/2 hours. Drivers are not required to sit/wait in the office; the staff can text the driver when procedure is nearing completion. On the actual day of the root canal, I opted to have Nitrous ($95 non-covered charge) and my Ipod along with my prescribed Valium all working together to ease my mind. Dr. Youn has state-of-the-art machines/tools which created a quick, efficient and seamless root canal for me. Thank Goddess! Evaluation + Root Canal is billed at around $1600.00 (Cone Image and Nitrous not included). After insurance my cost shares were $350.00. If you elect to have the Cone Image done, be sure to request the images on a CD. These images are too large to send through email to your dental team who will be performing your crown. Overall, if I ever find myself in need of another root canal, Dr. Youn will be who I choose to see. Dr. Youn and her team are fabulous and have stellar customer care. read more

Dr. Shin is a literal angel, and I don't say that lightly. My child needed to be seen for a very painful, very difficult root canal that was complicated by her fear after a botched procedure elsewhere. He was so calm, confident, patient, and knowledgeable. His skills and chairside manner really made a positive difference for us today. Instead of adding to my daughter's trauma and rushing her, he really gave her a great experience that will hopefully improve her dental anxiety moving forward. Well, I had an appointment with them a couple of months back, and got a call 2 days before the appointment to confirm it. At that time, I asked the person who called me to cancel my appointment due to my work travels, and told them that I will schedule it for later once I am back. A few weeks later, I have received an invoice from them stating that I have a pending payment for No Show, as apparently the appointment was not canceled. Now when I called them to clarify on the invoice, they said that they don't have any notes in their records indicating that conversation about the appointment cancelation. If you have any situation where you have to cancel an appointment with them, I would suggest you go directly there and ensure that the cancelation is done and get a confirmation, or else, just don't consider them for your service. Dr. Young was wonderful with both procedures and I now understand more about my teeth than I did before and why I'm prone to these issues. I googled "Endodontist" and after calling five offices, Mill Creek Endodontics & Microsurgery was the only office that offered to squeeze me into their schedule- the other offices said I would have to wait about a week. Too long for swelling tooth pain! I was completely nervous and anxious because this situation had happened so fast. Once arriving at the office, Connie was stellar in making me feel comfortable and treated me like family! She explained insurance and billing well, that even I could understand. She worked with me before, during, and after my appointment to make sure everything was okay! She genuinely cares about every patient and is very understanding. Also, both assistants were able to answer the endless questions I had and were confident and eager to help me feel more at ease. Dr. Youn is phenomenal! She was attentive to my needs and explained the entire process thoroughly. Her office and technology felt modern. She truly is skilled, I didn't feel much more than a pinch during the procedure. Dr. Youn and her team work as one. One of the best examples of team work I have experienced. The team is friendly and make you feel very relaxed. She uses state of the art technology that actually was needed for a spider root that older methods would have found very difficult (and painful) to deal with. My 4 root canal was painless . I went in to get an special X-ray done and the nurse and doctor were very helpful and polite. However when I entered the first receptionist I saw had her mask hanging off her ear and put it on when she noticed me but the second receptionist didn't have one on at all and even after she saw me didn't put it on. I had to ask her to and then she did. This to me during COVID times is unacceptable especially since it's an office where I as a patient am required to take my mask off at some point. Honestly that receptionist deserves to be fired for being so cavalier about the whole situation. I suddenly started having intense tooth pain in my molar and my dentist referred me to Dr. Youn. It wasn't clear initially the cause of the pain, and on top of that, everything about endodontics was new to me. (2) Months of Misery, Jaw sore, hard to Eat, Unable to floss, Jaw Bone pops, Painful. Every time I try to eat I get angry over what happen to me. August 8th sat in chair (2) hours, Trainee was unable to numb Tooth after numerous shots, Dr Youn gave me (2) series of shots for numbness. Each time the process was to wait 10 mins. The whole time the Expander spacer was in my mouth to kept my jaws wide open during the wait time. The new hire did take it out once only after waiting 5 minutes. Dr Young was hoping around chairs performing root canals on other Patients during my 2 hours in the chair. August 16th Called Mill Creek and told them of my on-going issues, can't open Jaw, Swollen mouth, In-packing speech, Soreness, To Eat, I cut food in tiny pieces, hurts to chew, Unable to chew on L/H Side. Jaw Bone pops. September 14, 2022, Meeting with Dr. TMJ Specialist, Dr stated the reason I have TMJ is the Mill Creek Dentist Dr Lewina T Youn kept injecting numbness shots and was not hitting the nerve, He stated she should have stopped at 3/4.
