One of my favorites for quick lunch or sit down breakfast. Haven't had dinner here but once or twice but the gyros can't be beat for lunch, and tons of omelette options for breakfast. Italian and Greek family so there's an interesting medley of the two on the menu and I've never had anything that wasn't tasty. Greek salad with gyro meat is huge and delicious as well. read more

Awesome place awesome people, on the road late came in at 845 they close at 9.. not only did they seat me but treated me like it was 5pm ..take your time etc very nice . First time at a Greek place so had to have a gyro platter ..packed full of meat not chincy at all place was clean staff was great had a large menus and you can see the kitchen which is nice to see its clean. Always a good meal with friendly service. I usually dine alone and the waitresses are always attentive and nice. There's a broad selection in the menu and daily specials that the waitresses are always happy to explain if you have questions. I especially like the lemon chicken soup and other Greek dishes but everything is good. I've used the drive-thru and you usually do have a wait as your food is prepared but remember, this isn't a fast food place with your food sitting in a warmer but prepared after you order. I have been coming to Olympic Cafe since I was a child. The food is excellent everytime we go. Anytime I get sick with a cold or flu, I always get the lemon soup with pita, its the best remedy. I believe its a family owned restaurant, because the people that work there have been there forever. Olympic Cafe is my definition of greek soul food. read more

Decided to drive off AMI to have something different from seafood. Craving Greek so we tried Olympic Cafe. Our server was Courtney- She was fantastic. Friendly, helpful about menu, and you could tell she really enjoyed her job! We had a spinach pie as well as the Gyro platter. Both were delicious, homemade and good quality. I can't believe the bad reviews! We come here so often I can't count. We used to go once a week for awhile until we moved out east. Service is always good and I can think of one time out of like 50 that wasn't good foodwise. We always get the saginaki which is the bomb! We've had salads, sandwiches, gyros, entrees and always have been great at great prices. The only thing we haven't had is dessert. Food is consistently good. The greek dressing is a bit oily as another reviewer said but its ok in my opinion. Any request is handled. We love this place. read more

The Olympic Cafe is one of the best eateries in Bradenton. They a have an extensive menu with many Greek favorites. Mine is the Gyro platter. One of the really excellent specials they have is the beef stroganoff usually on Thursday and it's more than you eat. read more

Never going here again. My husband and i came here to have a nice Sunday lunch and we sat our selves but, we sat there waiting for 15 minutes for someone to come over and take are drink order and not one person came to our table so we walked out and again not one person said anything. So they just lost two customers and will lose many more because I'm going to tell all my friends and coworkers. read more

I returned remembering that we had enjoyed it before. This time was the pitts. My wife's salad dressing came in a small plastic cup and was 100% oil, ok maybe 98%, with only a trace of vinegar and herbs. We told the waitress who said that is how dressing is. Give me a break, I didn't just arrive on the planet! My Greek chicken was totally dry. I didn't say anything because I was sure she would have been defensive of it just as she was with the dressing. I did tell the owner/cashier when I paid how the meal was since she asked. I said "do you really want to know?" She said "yes" so I told her how dry the chicken was. She said sorry but I should have told the waitress. Right, like that would have mattered. Anyway, I won't go back, just too many other places to pick from. read more

Don't be misled by some of these reviews. We have eaten here many times over the years and the food has been consistently well-prepared and tasty. Not haute cuisine for sure but good old-fashioned diner type fare. Love the saganaki. Don't miss it. read more

My family and I have been here many times, and it was always good. Today however has been a horrible experience. First of all my mother asked the soups of the day and as the server was telling us, she walked away in the middle of the sentence. My mother ordered the chicken and lemon soup as she has many times before. When the soup arrived we all noticed it had a burnt smell and taste. We send it back with no problem. My sister and I received the chicken gyro which was pretty good. As for my mom, she received the spinach pie. She gave me a piece and we both realized that the bottom was soft and squishy. My mother also added that it didn't taste the same as it used too. The server asked if we wanted anything else and so my mother said she'll take a chicken gyro. The server comes back and says "my manager says I can't take it off or replace it because you ate half of it". we didn't eat half of it in the first place but they are really gonna be stingy over a 6 dollar menu item. Over bad experience today and we will not be back. Don't waste your time because not only will you get bad food, you will get a bad experience with the manager/owner. read more

I was so excited to find this place because I absolutely love Greek food. The gyro was honestly the best I've ever had, the tzatziki sauce was delicious. Staff was friendly and overall the place has a nice, homey feel to it. Everyone at the table seemed to also thoroughly enjoy what they'd gotten. Stopped for a quick lunch before visiting Snooty. I love little Greek cafes because they always have an interesting mix of things on their menus and they're usually pretty good. Nice folks and good service. Gyro sandwich was great. My wife ordered a Caesar salad with grouper. The waitress came back after a minute and said she'd forgotten but they didn't have grouper anymore but she suggested bassa as a replacement. It was an excellent suggestion and happened to be a special so it was a good bit less expensive. Definitely a repeat visit when we're in the area. read more

I cannot thank this restaurant enough for going out of their way to fill a large order close to closing time on a holiday weekend. Came in on St. Patrick's day was really excited to try the corn beef and cabbage and it also included soup. So I asked for the French onion soup and was told you could not get that with the meal as it was not one of the soup options available and if I wanted it I would have to pay full menu price for the onion soup. The regular soup of the day is 3.95 and the French onion is 4.95 so instead of charging a dollar or even two to add the soup to the meal they wanted to charge me 4.95 ridiculous. We have eaten here dozens of times and we have always found them to be over greedy when it comes to the up charges if it was not for the food we would not have come back as many times as we have and the wait staff is always good to us. But at this point I would rather go eat at a restaurant where customer service and taking care of the customer is more important than a dollar or two. Also we asked for pita bread and butter for the kids while we are our soups instead the kids received their meals which they finished before we even had our meals so now kids are restless and we still have to eat our meals. read more
