Van Horn Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Stoughton - Service area

Van Horn Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Stoughton

I bought a 2020 Ram Promaster 2500 from Van Horn in Plymouth during covid, converted it, and have…read morebeen living in it since then. Recently, I was going camping in Devil's Lake and, on the way, my van broke down outside of Madison. Luckily, I found out there was a Van Horn in Stoughton to which I was able to get towed. Being without your home when your vehicle breaks down is definitely a concern when living in a van. Thank God, I still had bumper to bumper through Van Horn as my van had "catastrophic engine failure" along with some related parts that also needed to be replaced. I understand that there is a warrentee process and that parts are very hard to get with back orders, delivery, and whatnot. Despite this it did only take 3 weeks. But what makes me give this Van Horn my 5 star rating is specifically because of Bob Bailey in the service department. He continually called with any updates, was cordial and calming, and even to the point where after everything was finished, he called the next day to check how the van was doing. Thank you Bob. Your communication and concern did not go unnoticed.

On April 16 I stopped into Van Horn Dodge in Stoughton to inquire about information on a 2026 Dodge…read moreDurango RT 392. My initial contact was with Nate S. He then directed us to Matthew H. Matthew asked if I was interested in ordering a RT Durango, and I advised him I'd like some info about it. I wanted available colors/packages/pricing/etc. He advised me that he'd put some info together and forward to Nate to forward to me. No offer to help me while I was there. I went home. The next day, my wife and I went to Russ Darrow Dodge and had the opposite experience. Extremely helpful and friendly. We left there feeling like a valued customer. Meanwhile, Thu/Fri/Sat/Mon all passed without any contact from Van Horn. Monday morning (Apr 20) my wife/I went back to Russ Darrow and worked out a purchase. Our 2026 Dodge Durango RT 392 was ordered. Monday afternoon, I received an email from Myhra (sp?) about my experience at Van Horn and I sent her my thoughts. Late Tuesday, I missed a call from Spencer S, asking if I'd be willing to share my experience with him. I returned his call, left a message saying I would be willing to do that and hung up. NEVER heard back from him/Myhra/Nate/Matthew. With that, I will not follow up with them. While I can't recommend Van Horn, I can happily recommend Russ Darrow Dodge.

The owner had mentioned that the A/C needed freon and that they would recharge it for me for free. Since it was April, I knew that this was a common practice for that time of the year. The owner had claimed they did a major inspection of the vehicle, the window sticker indicated no known issues, and he told me that him and his wife had driven to and from home. Unfortunately, the evaporator coil in the A/C system was broke and leaking freon. This was a $1300 repair. I am not overly upset with the repair. I understand that when you buy a used car you run the risk of issues arising. However, when I called to see if my 3000 miles warranty covered it (it did not), the owner became uneasy and the hung-up on me. You will probably find a quality vehicle here and have a good experience. My initial experience was good, until I pulled it off the lot.

My nephew bought a car from Kevin recently. Kevin told him the vehicle was in great shape and…read morepassed all tests. Literally the next day the check engine light came on. I had him take the car to my mechanic how identified a very well known issue with the timing chains on this vehicle and would require $2700 in repairs. The mechanic also stated that there was no way this vehicle drove without the check engine light one and that someone manually reset the engine codes. We went back to Kevin to discuss our options. As soon as he saw my nephew a look of dejection came over his face. My nephew took him through the mechanics notes. Kevin's first words were "Did you buy a warranty". When politely asked to return the car he said "that's not how it works', then jumped out of his chair, stormed over to me, stood about 2 inches from my face towering over me trying to intimidate me. I asked him nicely to step back from me and he yelled "you step back!". I said nicely, you stepped up to me, I have not moved, please step back your making me uncomfortable. This caused Kevin to storm to the door and tell us to get out as he was calling the police. Once he noticed I had my cell phone recording he changed his tone considerable, got all nice and and quite. Then he said "well there are things I could do to help, but I'm not going to". A quick ccap search also shows he's be arrested for disorderly conduct which isn't surprising giving how quickly his temper erupted. I HIGHLY recommend you avoid this dealer and buy from someone reputable.

When we dropped the car off and picked it up it was at our convenience. When the repairs were complete, minus a pair of nameplates that were on back order, Tim had us pick up the car and we returned later in the week for a few minutes to have the badges installed...we were very excited to return the rental and get our new car back, and the Lynch Auto team made sure it was in a timely manner. The repairs were of the highest quality, our Jetta looks fresh off the factory floor. It's also great that they are a locally owned, family business. I would not hesitate to return to Lynch Auto Body and will recommend them any chance I get.

Copy and paste the link to hear your first story. Do you need a reminder of our conversation on 1/6/25, where the story changed? I have that audio. https://www.facebook.com/share/14kzKs9Ew4/?mibextid=wwXIfr I had to have my insurance company follow up with you to see if my car was complete. As you can see from the texts, that was on 1/6/25. I picked up my car on 1/6/25. Your statement about "not releasing" my car due to me not paying is false. I was in an insurance covered rental car. Do you really think they are going to continue to pay for my rental knowing my car is complete? Not once did I deny to pay my bill, which was only my deductible, mind you. You stated you couldn't waive the deductible because that's illegal. I never asked you to waive it. Also, where did you get the information that I had auto body work done and didn't return to that shop? Because that is also false. This is my first claim. I've had the same insurance company since 2012. Should I contact my insurance company and get my claim information/history? And you saying I tried to take advantage of a small business? Far from, again, I chose your business because of the number of years you have been in service. I chose to shop local and support a small business. I will not let you bully me or defame my character because I simply posted my experience with your business. If you don't want a negative review, treat your customers better. As you can also see from attached pics, Tim likes to private message his customers and name call.
