Said I needed a transmission replaced also cv axles,, wheel bearings, control arma and ball joints. I took my car in that shop because my brakes where squeaking and I wanted to have them checked. T he shop never said anything about the brake pads life. I told them I need a second opinion. I found Dennis mobile auto repair and the lady that answered, iI believe her name was Tammy. She was so polite and couldnt believe the amount I was quoted from that shop. She got me on the schedule for the next day for Drnnis to come.diagnoae my camry. Next day Dennis calls saying he is 10 minutes way. He starts looking over everything on my car and takes it for a test drive. He got back and showed me his tablet with all his findings. Turns out the problem was a torn cv axle boot that lost all the grease. He also found the tierods had a lot of play. He also said my front brake pads had 20% life left and the rotors were groved. He explained what all of each component did and the risks of of leaving them the way they are. I asked how much itll be and he wrote up a estimate on the tablet and sent it to my email. I agreed on the price. Asked when can it be repaired he said same day since he could get all the part locally. He said he would need a parts deposit since it was over $300. He left came back with the parts and got to work. Couple hours later he calls and says hes done. We took it for a drive. Car felt like new. We settled up the final bill and I asked a bunch of questions about how often does the part need replaced he sent me a link of the service intervals for my car. He got everything all cleaned up and left. Could even tell anyone worked on a car in my driveway. To have my front and rear brake pads and rotors, both tierod ends, wheel bearing and cv axle replaced. I paid 1536.00 total. From start to finish they were prompt, helpful and honest. I looked up the price for parts and how long the internet says the it takes to do the repairs. And its spot on the amount I paid. Reading the 1 star reviews and the things they said is unbelievable because Dennis and Tammy were amazing. I will recommend Dennis to anyone and everyone. This one is a long one...called around to get my box truck towed. Barbers towing said they could…read moretow my truck. Said they would have to unattach my driveshaft due to towing a heavy duty vehicle. Like okay i hear that, they unhook driveshaft and deliver to a discount tire 5 miles away due to my trucks front tire blowing in Milwaukee, thus needing the tow. When dropping it off the driver said discount tire can put it back on, i asked him if he knew that for certain or guessing. He shrugged...we paid then 50$ to unhook the driveshaft to then be told by the driver they cant hook it back up due to legality reasons....when we called the company back next morning asking them for a solution. The front desk lady told us that we lied about our vehicle size and that the cost shouldve been 800+. But we did tell them, texted them a picture and ALSO the driver wouldve "logically " tell us upon arrival that price would change or he cant due it because "we lied about our vehicle" (ill attach pictures of us texting them a picture of our rig). She continued to say that its common and all box truck owners know that upon towing the driveshaft would be unattached and would have to get it reattached on our own dime. Which thats not "common knowledge ". Wouldn't as a tow company, youd want to inform and educate your clients? They said we got a steal of a deal due to their new girl of one week "misquoting us". (Talk about poor management then)... I dont think 800+ for a single tow to then pay more money on top ($250) after the fact to make my truck DRIVEABLE again was "competitive ". My phone ended up dying and about half an hour later, their truck still came by and located my car based on the brief conversation we had. Even after I explained I couldn't pay for the full service, he stayed professional and focused on getting me safely on my way. He spent real time troubleshooting instead of doing a quick "jump and leave." The jump got it started, but it kept dying immediately after. He ended up staying to help figure out what was going on and even waited until I had enough gas to make sure I was all set. Super respectful, patient, and genuinely helpful in a stressful situation. He wrote at 4pm to say his current job was taking longer than expected. I wrote him at 5 and asked for an ETA. Called him at 6. Texted again. No response. Finally at 6:30 I had to start looking for another tow truck, and by then it was after hours and the prices go up. The guy from Jacobson's Chevron had to leave home to come get me. Good guy, And we were able to get the car home, but it was hundreds of dollars more than what Tony had offered. No explanation ever came, no text, no call, nothing.
