Pierre is the person you want to call when you're in a pickle. I found myself with a broken down car in a carwash parking lot in the midst of rainy rush hour traffic. He answered right away, arrived with amazing speed, gave me tips on filing a claim with my auto insurance, and got my car to the shop and set up for service. I literally couldn't have asked for a better experience, and all under $100. Pierre is doing the right things life, and I hope he knows it. read more

I was just passing through Portland on my way home to Colorado and accidently locked my keys in my car at a gas station On Barbur Blvd. Lee at A1 Muffler (shout out there as well) called his friend Pierre for me, confident that he would not only be able to get onto my car but would do it quickly without damaging it in spite of the fact that I own a Yaris. He not only got past my slipper but sticky unlock button but he miraculously did it without bending my door and did it in record time and I was on my way. I basically gave him the hot coffee drink I grabbed from the awesome kiosk across the street and all the cash in my wallet out of gratitude because he charged me less than a hundred and came and rescued me on his day off. So yeah. Definitely recommend this guy as a great choice for car stuff but also as a good human. Thanks Pierre! (And Lee!) read more

My car suddenly became immobile due to an electrical problem. My shop recommended Dutchman and no other to tow my car in. So I called Pierre. He was prompt, thorough and paid attention to the details. Price was fair - a good value for quality. If I need to be towed again, I will again call Dutchman. With 40 years in the business he knows his stuff! read more

I hadn't needed a tow in a while, and I was stuck and dreading having to deal with a towing company when I was in a bind with limited options. But when I called Dutchman, I was pleasantly surprised to talk to Pierre. Even though he was just about to leave for the day, he took the time to call a company he works with to ensure they could help me out. What amazed me the most was that Pierre called about 30 minutes later to confirm we were taken care of. It was exceptional service and unexpected. Thanks Pierre! read more

Let me bottom line this at the top: if my son ever needs a tow, I'll tell him to call the Dutchman. Of course you don't want to need a tow truck, but when you do Dutchman Towing is all you need to know. And a no-cost bonus is that Pierre is one of the friendliest, most pleasant people you'll ever work with. He's so nice you might want your car to break down! read more

Great customer service! Quick pick up and drop off. Fair pricing. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

I buy many cars at Copart auctions across the USA. I always need a towing company, sometimes a body shop and often a repair center before I ship the vehicles home. I always select sites based upon five-star ratings. I found Master Wrench for the repairs (if needed!), and he recommended Dutchman Towing. Pierre went to Copart in South Portland and retrieved my 2005 Buick Le Sabre and delivered it to Master Wrench. He then introduced me to the CASH App for payment, but I sent a company check anyway. Service and communication way beyond what one may expect! read more

I was referred to him by my mechanic. He was very fast getting to me and did not cost an arm and a leg. He is a one man show and he's great. Old school. I love it. read more

Pierre was helpful, friendly, timely and an amazing man. Would recommend highly! Fast serve, friendly and knowledgeable. Had a lot of good advice to help my son read more

Pierre was a delight to work with. (Says a lot, as finding tow service is not generally enjoyable). I gather he's been doing it for 40+ years in Portland, from our conversation. My first time working with Dutchman and he was punctual, reasonably priced, kind, and a good communicator. Would especially recommend for service in SW Portland. *Check or cash only* read more

Excellent service. Pierre is a very nice man. He was careful hooking and un-hooking my car. He paid attention to detail. And he drove carefully and cautiously. It was $119 for 10 miles. Very reasonable. read more

Dutchman Towing - Towing Near Me

Called Pierre this morning and he was out right away. He was able to get my car out of my tiny parking lot down a steep hill after two other towing services had told us they couldn't help us. He was super friendly and way less expensive than any of the competition. HIGHLY recommend! Will definitely be using him again if I ever need a tow. read more

Called needing a tow, and he said that he was on a job on the other end of town and wouldn't be able to make it in a reasonable time frame, so he recommended me to another company. I called them and had a great experience; they were reasonably priced, accurate about their timing, and friendly Then the guy from Dutchman called me back to check that I was taken care of once his job was over and let me know he was available if I needed it. So kind and helpful! read more

Pierre was a lifesaver! I was moving and got my uhaul stuck in a ditch in my driveway. Uhaul couldn't help because it wasn't on the road, but they gave me quotes of $250 + for 3 different towing companies. Called another 24/7 towing company myself and got told they couldn't help because they didn't have anyone. They referred me to Dutchman though. Pierre came out very quickly, assessed the situation and was able to pull the truck out in less than 15 minutes. He was also much more reasonable than any of others. I would recommend him to anyone needing help. read more

Awesome service! Super quick and very friendly! I was freaking out about my car, but we were able to get it towed within half an hour! Highly recommend Dutchman towing read more

Dutchman Towing does incredible work. I needed to get my car into the body shop and, as I just had surgery, couldn't drive it myself. Pierre showed up on time and got my car where it had to be. He knows his business as the company was founded about 40 years ago. Excellent service. Pierre showed up when he said he would and took excellent care of my car. I highly recommend Dutchman Towing! read more

I called Pierre late in the evening and initially got a recording that indicated his normal business hours ended at 8 pm. I didn't leave a message because it was well after 8 pm...no big deal-I just called someone else. A few minutes later Pierre sees a missed call and calls me back. He asks me a few specific questions about where I'm at and what has happened and says that the quickest way to get me taken care of will be to call someone he knows in the area. He then gives me the name and phone number of a "competitor". It turned out that the competition (reviewed separately) was only a few minutes away and did an excellent job. Here's the capper...about an hour later Pierre calls me back...apologizes for bothering me but says he just wanted to make sure I was taken care of. That dear reader is some next level Miracle on 34th Street shit (watch the movie again if you missed the reference). Pierre is a solid guy that deserves to be one of the first people you call when you find yourself stuck on the side of some God Forsaken road. You can rest assured that he will either come rescue you or find someone who can. Hell, he'll even call you back just to make sure you're OK. read more

My 2016 Subaru Outback died in my garage, after 24 hours having the back hatch light accidentally flipped on. I called Pierre and he answered right away, and was at my house in less than 30 minutes. He got the car jumped quickly, and waited until I was able to back out of my garage, turn off the car, and get it started again until he left. He even called a couple hours later to make sure everything was working alright. What great service! I'll be calling Pierre again if I ever need jump start or towing assistance in the future. Note, he only takes cash, check, and Cashapp, and has very reasonable prices so please give him a tip too! read more

Sunday morning, 7 am, I've backed my one ton van off the road and into a deep ditch. Every effort to rock it out, makes it worse... much worse. MUCH, MUCH worse. OK, so this review is about a year late, sorry. But at the time, it never occurred to me I owe Pierre a favorable review. And NO... he did not even tow my truck. BUT HE DID winch me out of a ditch where I was very nearly rolled onto the driver's side bodywork. He hooked and winched me 6 inches, jacked up one side and winched forward a foot, pulled me sideways (oh my God, it's going to roll over in slow motion...) , pulled me forward 3", changed the pulling points, crawled under the teetering truck, pulled, moved, pulled, slowly....slowly.... FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST....thank GOD, I'm FREE AT LAST. VERY skilled, very gentle, and he never gave me a bad time about nearly rolling my pride and joy. But he should have. No damage, no insurance claim, no "you're and idiot....", and reasonable price. Doesn't get any better. Edited to add: 8/3/2013 Just reading old reviews. Not too many businesses have four reviews (one filtered) and all four reviews are 5 stars ! read more

Pierre was great!!! He was so helpful with my situation. I wouldn't recommend anyone else. He even made sure I made it safe to les Schwab tire center!! The Best!! So thankful! read more

Dutchman Towing - Towing Near Me

I had my SUV towed from one auto shop to another auto shop. I called 5-6 towing establishments on yelp and Dutchman Towing had the best rate in Portland. He was also nice and courteous. read more

My BF was pleased with Dutchman Towing about three weeks prior to when I called them at 5pm after getting the "run-a-round" from another tow company and AAA (long story, not worth repeating). I spoke to Pierre, who was not unreasonably concerned at first that my mechanic's shop would be closed by the time he picked up and delivered my car. He inquired if it could be towed the following morning. It couldn't - the apartment complex where I lived (and where my car inoperative was parked) was having paving work done the following morning. Any parked vehicles on the lot at that time would be removed and placed in storage until its owner paid $$$ to get it out of hauk. I let Pierre know that my mechanic assured me he'd wait at his shop for my car's delivery. Pierre arrived about 45 minutes later in his shinny blue tow truck. He was courteous, gently humorous (which I appreciated) and he was quick! I paid on the spot - $100 less than the what the run-around towing company had quoted. A short time later I got a call from Pierre saying my car had been delivered safely. Who does that? He also informed me that the mileage to tow my car was less cost than we thought by $4 - how did I want him to reimburse me? Huh??? Who does that!?! Only decent and ethical business people, committed to providing their customers with quality service. Pierre's last minute accommodation and friendly demeanor completely lifted my mood about the unpleasant experience I had earlier. I highly recommend Dutchman Towing 503 789-3928 read more

Absolutely support this business! I called JP and within forty minutes or so he was at my house with his awesome truck and an even better attitude. He blew me away when he offered to try and start my car with one of his three huge chains of keys he had collected from scrapping cars over the years, so I wouldn't have to pay for the tow (only a service call). I was having it towed to the locksmith because my ignition key had been stolen. Sadly, the keys didn't work, but I thought that was so honest and kind of him to go above and beyond like that. I rode with him in the truck and the conversation was pleasant, and he even got the door for me when we arrived at the Locksmith. All around good dude. Unlike any other tow experience I've had, and with a '90 Cherokee.... I've had a LOT. Thank you JP for making my predicament so much less shitty! read more

It is so refreshing to receive such great customer service in a time of need. Pierre was WONDERFUL. Communicated promptly, arrived earlier than estimated, and confirmed delivery of vehicle at the repair shop with name of contact person. He also gave me the information to see if I had roadside assistance coverage on my insurance policy as they will reimburse me for towing. I wouldn't have thought of that since it wasn't an accident. Great advice, as I do have coverage and my deductible is only $5! His rate was extremely reasonable, $79 plus $4 per mile to destination. Thank you Pierre! read more

Pierre from Dutchman towing was really nice and prompt. He was very easy to contact and was fun to talk to while he hooked up the truck. We will definitely use Dutchman for all of our towing needs in the future! read more

Pierre provided a very positive experience in a bad situation. Pierre was willing to drive to Tigard when all local towing companies told us it would be hours, despite our car being stopped in traffic. His prices were reasonable and he offered us a ride to the nearest public transit center so we didn't have to pay for a cab. He was also very careful with our car, which is low to the ground and easily damaged by towing. Best towing experience I have ever had, though I hope I don't ever need him again. read more

So nice to me when I needed a tow on Christmas Eve! Even tried to help me get my car started first to save me the expense.

Respond very fast and showed up on time. Owned be a very nice and professional man. Also, the price was very fair. Recommend

Great rate. Great service. Blows the rest of the agencies out of the water.

Fast, friendly and affordable on a dark, late Sunday night yet!

TL:DR This guy rocks!!!! Dutchman towing is as good as it gets. Pierre was nice enough to come and rescue me. I had locked my keys in my car. He was about to head out for the evening but still came out to help me. Very reasonable prices and got here faster than his estimated time. He has all the right tools for unlocking doors with no damage to the car. read more

The best towing company I've ever dealt with. Very professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend Dutchman towing to everyone.

I broke down on the side of the road in SW and called the place nearest to where I was at the time. The owner arrived very fast and towed me all the way to to SE. What a pleasant person to sit next to and chat with in such a stressful time. He is such a lovely guy with a great attitude and made my dreadful day completely different. The price was only 100 and I was expecting three times more that amount so I was very surprised with that as well. He was very careful to hook up my car and it arrived in perfect condition which is not my experience with tow companies in the past. I will definitely call Dutchman Towing again next time I have an emergency. read more
