I ordered them July 13th and had them mounted about a week later. Unfortunately, the warranty is a joke. They advertise a one-year return window, but that applies to unmounted tires. Once they're mounted, you're basically looking at a 7-day window. The problem is, you can't necessarily identify a defective tire within seven days. Everything looked and felt fine initially. Then, about two months later, I started having issues with the tires needing road-force balancing. Three weeks after that, they needed to be road-force balanced AGAIN. That's when the shop discovered that one of the tires is structurally unsound. To make matters worse, the shop had to add a whopping 9 ounces of wheel weights just to get the tire balanced enough for me to drive. And yes, I Googled it -- 9 ounces is A LOT for a single tire. I was experiencing violent shaking at speeds over 70 mph. Today is October 7th. I purchased these tires July 13th -- just over 2 1/2 months ago. Now I'm spending another $476 on a replacement tire directly from Tesla, and I'm left wondering whether I can trust the other two tires I purchased from United as well. So what looked like a $670 bargain has now turned into: $670 -- two tires $250 -- two road-force diagnostic/balancing services $476 -- replacement tire And now I have concerns about the other tires from the same purchase. I'm not saying every tire you purchase from United will be defective. You might get lucky and get a great deal. But in my case, the savings weren't worth the headache, the additional expense, or -- most importantly -- the safety concerns. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for. If you're considering buying discounted tires, just be aware of the fine print and understand that once they're mounted, your options may be very limited if a defect doesn't show up immediately. For me, I'll gladly pay more going forward for the peace of mind and the confidence that I'm putting safe tires on my car. Saving a few hundred dollars isn't worth risking your safety.
