Welcome to the wonderful world of breakfast, food crew! Ollie's Restaurant been a staple for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a solid 40 years, and I've been coming here all along. Today, I went for the breakfast sampler--2 eggs any style, 2 strips of bacon, 2 sausage links, toast, and potatoes. I love my eggs sunny side up so I can dip my toast into the yolk. Everything was cooked perfectly--the eggs just right, the bacon and sausage spot-on, and the toast done to perfection, not too dark or too light. The service was excellent, too. Honestly this place can only be described as one word mediocre, me and my father went here today as a quick bite after picking up a freezer but yeah we got seated and we ordered a water with lemon and a raspberry iced tea the server was a okay person she just seemed she wanted her job over with, the drinks took like a good 8-10 minutes to get to the table which is pretty long for just two drinks when we ordered our food we ordered jalapeño poppers as an appetizer and our mains which were a veggie omelet for my dad and the meat sampler for me the jalapeño poppers came quickly and when I tried them they tasted frozen and were like very greasy I had to soak up the grease with a napkin but yeah a little while after our mains came the veggies omelette came with toast and home fries the toast was wheat with a very big heaping of butter so my dad didn't touch them the home fries were nasty and the omelette had only raw vegetables my dish which was the meat sampler came with eggs, sausage, ham, bacon, toast, home fries and pancakes my pancakes had a delay for some odd reason but the eggs were just eggs nothing special, sausage was chewy, bacon was okay, and ham had a weird taste, home fries like a said before were horrid but the pancakes were really good even though it had a delay it was worth it they were fluffy and delicious good job on them for that at the end it came to 37 dollars which in my opinion is an alright price a little pricey for me but yeah if you ever come here get the pancakes they are wonderful read more

I have been eating here for several years and never really had a issue.The food prices are fair and pretty good. I had a issue unfortunately I had to speak on. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and they gave me something that looked it was reheated in the microwave after sitting. I could barely eat the dry chicken,soggy tomatoes and wilted chewy lettuce. 5.00 credit so disappointed. read more

I've been coming here for years and the food is always good. They have really good pancakes and I'm picky about my pancakes! They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have a small, fresh, all-you-can eat salad bar with soup and fresh bread that is pretty popular. Our most recent visit was for lunch. My burger was really good. My fiancé really enjoyed his turkey burger. The pies look amazing! Service was acceptable -- they changed waitresses half-way through our meal. The second one was better than the first and had a way better attitude. read more

Happy New Year food crew! Yes, this is our last video of 2022. Today's show we are at Ollie's Restaurant in Edwardsville. The GF got the stuffed chicken breast dinner which her side choices were fries, apple sauce, gravy on the side, and a takeout of their famous Dutchess Cheese soup for her dad. She said this was very tasty, tender and juicy. I also ordered a bowl of the Dutchess Cheese soup, the Ollie's Big Burger with fries. This was a dbl burger with all the fixings. This was done up my way medium rare, it was juicy and very tasty also. The soup I can't describe in words, this is something you have to just taste for yourself, and you will know what I am talking about. Ordered a Ruben very disappointing. Almost 11.00 for two servings of sauerkraut and a half serving of corned beef. The sandwiches use to be great, now you get practically nothing and taken over the coals. Use to love going here, sad that the quality has gone downhill this bad. read more

It was a saturday afternoon,and our waitress made sure we new it was shift change more than 4or5 times even when we got our almost $80.00 check for lets call it a late lunch.My wife got shrimp scampi the linguine noodles where so overcooked was more like shrimp n grits than said name (mooosh) i got patty melt frys n coleslaw the PM n frys where ice cold which makes a premade frozen burger patty greezyer than it should and coleslaw i cant review because never got it my son got a ribeye was ok little thin an super fatty side was steak frys that im sure where yesterdays baked potato's cut n re cooked also cold and GREEZY! Food is great, ordered through doordash and twice was missing sides, when we called the resturaunt to attempt to just come pick up the sides we were missing we were spoken to like we're stupid and were trying to get free food. Twice this happened and we were nothing but nice offering to pick up the missing items ourselves. 60 dollar order every time we order but never again. read more

This place is disgusting and should be shut down. Ordered a strip steak that came dry with no sauce and tons of rough dry cartilage all over. Ordered a chicken parm sandwich and was given a half a container of tenders topped with greasy sauce and a dab of cheese. Ordered an appetizer sampler and was given NO sauces or condiments for them at all. So dry 1/2 cold chicken pieces, potato skins and mozzarella sticks which literally had 0 cheese in them! We were in the area in business and saw Ollie's which looked like a good lunch find. So when we walked in you can feel like you're back in the 70's. Maybe not so bad but for me I think they could use a little updating. But isn't it really about the food? So I was ready for a good burger. I had the mushroom burger which came with cheese and I added sautéed onions. Came with fries too. My business associate had a bacon burger, also with cheese. Both burgers were very good. Nothing to complain about, and our waitress was very friendly too. So for the food experience they should get 5 Stars but the dated decor makes me give it a 4. I think we have to evaluate the whole experience so I have to stick with 4 stars. Haven't been here in quite some time. Still has the same feel good old fashioned Diner. Love the soup and salad bar and it's a great value. Ordered the Pot Roast sandwich and I really didn't like it. It had no flavor and was dried out. The steak fries weren't hot and that is where the negative ends. The kids breakfast was A+ plentiful and with great taste. Boys are very picky and this breakfast was great. Service was good and fast. They had a lot of specials on the board as we entered as most diners do but we stayed on the menu. read more

Im not one to review often because im a fairly good cook and i wouldnt bother writing a review on something mediocre or bad unless i thought it was terrible enough that people need to beware. So i probably might not have found these guys if it wasnt for Door Dash. First thing i noticed was it was delivered crazy fast. Food was definitely hot and fresh. Definitely reasonably priced too I got several items, all of them were excellent. The country gravy tasted great, legitimate chunks of meat in it. If youve never had it before this would be the place to try it. The country fried steak was good. It came with 2 eggs, i get em sunny side up, they were in surprisingly excellent condition even tho they were delivered. There was also the cubed fried potatoes, perfectly cooked and lightly battered like curly fries. I got sweet potato fries because some vitamin A goes a long way. They were well cooked.. even better with some cinnamon. Meat lovers omelette was well loaded with meat, still good even tho i saved it for later and had to heat it up. Awesome that they have pepper jack cheese as an option. The pancakes were awesome. Im not even a serious pancake fan but if they were always cooked like this i would be. read more

This is honestly a great restaurant and not many like it in the area. They have a full salad bar and a great soup selection!! If your lucky enough to get the "piggy" soup it is fantastic! If you happen to enjoy burgers they have a Cajun blue burger that is loaded with blue cheese and bacon. I have been to Ollies many times over the years. Today I took a friend with me arriving about 12:30. We were seated and given menus. After a few minutes several servers walked by with me trying to get someone's attention. I was ignored by each of the three servers on duty. We were seated where each of them had to pass directly by us. After 15 minutes I had enough of being ignored over and over again and got up with my friend leave. I approached two of the servers who were at the salad bar and expressed my dismay with being ignored. Its sad because it used to be a nice place to go. I was also embarrassed because I brought a good freind and was looking forward to a nice lunch. I wasn't asking for much, just a little service. You won't find it here. read more

The French toast, eggs, and literally almost the whole menu-- IS TOP TIER!!!!!!!! The waiters and waitresses are very very polite and they get our food on time. The restaurant feels very family oriented and it's one of the best local restaurants in the Edwardsville area. I love it here and miss that place so much. We had dinner last night and I was so disappointed. I ordered chicken croquettes baked potato and green beans. The croquettes were all stuffing not a piece of chicken to be found and under fries. The potato was done in microwave and was rubbery the green beans were frozen and cold. I ate one bite of potato and croquette the waitress never returned ( and I do understand staffing issues but 2 young ladies were doing nothing at hostess station) a frozen dinner would of been better read more

Well where do I start - the question is...where is the turkey in the Turkey club sandwich.. well I put my forensic skills to good use and found two (2) slices of turkey on my three player turkey club sandwich ! If was just all lettuce and tomato - for 9 bucks I could of gotten a huge amount of turkey on my sandwich / very disappoint and any chef can tell that it was the poorest created sandwich and it should not have seen the light of day in a patrons plate - the place is dated and just old and tired looking. Ollies is my favorite place to go for a mommy and me day with my daughter. Friendly servers and hosts and affordable. 9 of us came for brunch for $95 last week and we all had hot delicious meals. The salad bar is absolutely awesome clean and fresh. My only wish is that they would check the table before sitting people. I've had a few visits where I would sit at a table with an empty sugar caddy. But overall it is a fun place to eat. read more

Hadn't been in town in awhile, but this was always one of our favorites. First, you walk in and it's always bustling--a sign that other people find this a good place to eat. The wait staff is very responsive and friendly, and the food was excellent. I had a salad with salmon (same thing I'd ordered the night before at Costellos, which was horrid). It was wonderful. Fish was very fresh and tasty, and the salad was huge--I couldn't even eat it all. Would definitely recommend this place and will come back again next time I am in town. read more

Ollie's has the greatest soup and salad bar. In addition to the salad fixings, they always have 4 varieties of soup to choose from. I'm guilty of wanting to have more than one and then being too full for my meal. They also have a nice selection of breads on the bar. I could just order the soup & salad bar alone and be completely satisfied. Their entree selection is great.. there is a lot to choose from. One of my favorites is their Parmesan crusted chicken. I also like their Broiled Salmon Filet. It is always busy there, which says a lot about a place. Update: The last time I went to Ollie's, I made a mistake with my order. I hate onions, and forgot to ask that they be left off my french dip sandwich. Since it was my mistake, I was going to just eat by side and forget about it, but my dining companion spoke up. We get here 3 or 4 times a month. Food is a 5; a lot of choices and always good. My bride is a salmon freak, she orders salmon wherever we go. She says the only place that tops Ollie's for salmon is Anthony's in Old Forge. Of course it costs much more up there. Prices here are very fair. Food comes out quick even when its packed- which is often. The place is diner style, ok maybe it needs updating. So what. We love going here. read more

I used to go to Ollies all the time and I liked the food, the prices and the staff. I think that's why I was so disappointed tonight. It will be a very long time before I visit them again if ever. We arrived at 9 pm when they were going to close at 11pm. We were ignored because it was more important to clean than take care of customers. We had to listen to vacuuming through our whole meal which needless to say made it difficult to carry on a conversation. When we spoke to the gentleman at the register when we were leaving, he didn't seem to care at all. We didn't even receive an apology for our inconvenience. I had the displeasure of eaten at Ollie's today. When I was seated I smelled a musty smell. I thought it was a customer so I moved. As I ordered and received my order(meatloaf dInner) I continued to smell the odor. The smell got worse and told the waitress I did not want to finish my meal. She asked if I wanted to talk it home I passed on this. A manager that I had never seen came over and asked me the same thing. I declined afraid because of the smell. The waitress brought the check with the food, and never came back to tbe table. I ordered a cuban sandwich, which was mistakenly (I hope at least) made with mayonnaise instead of mustard. Not a big deal; I would have eaten it if I could have gotten some mustard. I got up and walked around in hopes of finding mustard; no luck. I asked a waitress that was not ours if she could get me some mustard, she said sure yet never brought any. I went to pay the bill, and asked for a take out container with some mustard to go. The woman at the register said "your waitress will get you a take out container." I said, "the waitress I have not seen since she brought our food half an hour ago? No, I don't think she will. How about some mustard packets if you won't get me a to go container please." She replied, "your waitress will get it for you." It came on a tiny hamburger bun with a little bit of meat, a few onions and cheese that looked like it was under a broiler for days! To think that I paid $8 or $9 for this?!?! Our first and last visit under the new management! The pumpkin pancake batter was sour. I whispered it to our waitress. Three of us ordered them. She offered us a replacement. We said no, but thanks. She handed us the full bill and said "sorry." I've been going to Ollie's since it opened. This was the first disappointment. Gone is the day! Hope he changes the name. I have been eating at Ollie's for many years and it always has been great. However, since the new owner has taken over it has gone down hill. On several occasions I have had a dirty, sticky table, dirty silverware, dirty floors , poor service and the upkeep of restaurant is lacking . Cleanliness is important and customers like me will notice. I hope the new owner will time to run the vacuum keep his restaurant clean. read more
