Came here with a group of 8 and called ahead to reserve two lanes. They were super helpful in getting us set up. The place was clean and we ordered food. We enjoyed bowling and eating our appetizers. Twice we had issues with pins not setting up correctly, the issue was fixed quickly and we were given extra time for the inconvenience which was super nice. Now this is a place of nostalgia. Some 1970's decor and well kept lanes in all its glory. Faint scent of cigarette smoke still lingering. They have a small bar that is perfect for a couple games - pitchers of beer for cheap and chicken strips and fries (which surprisingly tasted awesome). New to stl and I live only a few minutes away from here literally. I've always wanted to stop by because the parking lot is always packed. A new friend invited me out to bowl and we had a blast. They had specials for the weekend. They have a bar and grill. We bowled 2.5 games in 55 minutes for $25 because we had a coupon from their website that took $10 off our total. Will definitely be back. Kid friendly and family friendly. Also great for just an adult fun time as well. We had a pepperoni pizzas and boneless Buffalo wings. Both were good. I passed by this place so many times over the years. However , Saturday was my 1st time actually going inside. I went to a gathering for a friend's family and had a good time. Plenty of lanes to bowl (24). The interior is brightly lit and the screens are visibly clear to see one's score. The rates were descent . I have had experiences of employees at some bowling alleys who didn't want to be there and really sucked in the basic customer service department. Came back for "Moonlight Madness" this past Friday night with our daughter and some of our friends. The MC kept it super fun for everyone in our group, even our daughter who usually has a tough time bowling did really well and also got a strike when nachos were on the line! Brought my Summer camp students here last year. What Wowed me was how clean it was and how organized the staff was. The woman at the desk was very attentive to my group made sure all of the students had bowling shoes on at other local bowling lanes they don't even offer large groups bowling shoes. I'm not a bowler, but I've been inside my share of bowling alleys over the years. I've driven by Olivette Lanes for years, but was never inside until last week. Honestly, I've seen fancier bowling alleys. Brunswick near Olive and 141 feels a little less like you are stepping back 30 years. So why the 4 star rating? Olivette Lanes is now SMOKE-FREE! There were signs sitting on the tables stating that the smoking ban exemption was only good for original owners when the ban went into place and since Olivette Lanes has changed ownership, the smoking ban is in effect there. Oh yeah. This is the first time I've EVER been in a bowling alley that I didn't come out smelling like an ashtray. They have a small bar area where smoking is allowed, so while smokers can't enjoy a cig while bowling, they certainly can take smoke breaks in between turns without going outside. I have no comments on anything actually related to the bowling lanes, screens or shoes..just hung out with my date and his coworkers. read more

It's bowling. There aren't many ways to impress someone with a bowling alley. There are lanes, pins, balls and electronic scoring. Pretty much everything you'd expect. The staff is very friendly and since I don't bowl much, I assume that $2.95 per game is a good price. I don't really know though. All in all, it was fun and pleasant. read more

Olivette Lanes is a great place to lose yourself when you go bowling. The place is not overly huge or anything but a whole lot of fun. Walking in you can see the size of the place, if you can see past all the people. Knowing that there is always a crowd here, even till the place closes for the night, Olivette Lanes is packing in the people for fun. So if you want to have a chance to bowl, then it would be best to reserve a lane or join a league. Olivette Lanes not only has bowling, but like any bowling alley that is worth it's salt, it also has a nice wonderful full bar and grill. read more

This is a relatively nice place, for a bowling alley. It seems to be clean, but could use more seating areas. The staff is friendly and willing to help with any question you might have. For the novice bowler, they have a decent selection of "house bowling balls" to select from, with varipus weights. There is also a lounge attached, but I did not visit the lounge, so I cannot comment on that part of the facility. read more

One of the best bowling alleys in Saint Louis, they have an awesome referral programs and always have a bowling special. I've Been there quite a few times and he atmosphere is always nice. I just had my sons 9th birthday party there. the hostess was nice. But the pizza was horrible. I had about 14 children at my party, there was 2 pieces of pizza for each child and about half of it got thrown away. The party room was FREEZING COLD. And the lady that was running the front desk was very rude to many of the parents from my party. Also my husband and i ordered off their menu my food was alright but he had ordered a flat bread sandwich with fries for 7 bucks. the flatbread was just that a piece of bread with a little bit of cheese (about 3 bites). Plus the party (per child) was OVER PRICED ($10.95 per child) and they couldn't put on cosmic bowling. AND when i was shown to the party room after i placed my deposit there was a pile of CIGARETTE ASH on the party table. When the place claims to be smoke free. The other bowling lanes i've used in the past were much cheaper (by about half), and were way more friendly. I WOULD NEVER HAVE ANOTHER PARTY HERE AGAIN. read more

Bowling is bowling.... True.... While bowling is bowling, the staff at Olivette Lanes sets this lane aside from all other lanes.. Bowling lanes are not all like each other... The staff at OL makes you feel right at home. They are professional, curtious, and very accomidating. And if you frequent there, they become more like family, inviting you to events that most places would even dream of inviting regular customers to. The bar is amazing. The drink prices are low, and the pours are amazing. The smoking is kept ONLY in the bar area, which has a swing-door that can be closed. The lanes are kept up with weekly, and are in amazing shape. Not a bad line on them... And not drenched with oil... Just perfect. The leagues they offer are also a great time. I am currently on Wednesday night Couples league, and Thursdays "More Serious" leage, and I have to say, they are a blast each and every time! If you are looking for an amazing time bowling... Look no further... PS... If you want to try your hand at your own bowling ball, they have experts that can drill for you.. THIS PLACE RULES. My sister in law and I threw my husband a surprise birthday party here this past weekend, and the experience absolutely could not have been better. Don was so helpful in planning beforehand, and Brad (both Brads, actually!) and the rest of the staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating throughout the whole evening. The pricing was very reasonable, too! The cosmic bowling from 9-midnight was fun for everyone in our group (ages 15 to 60), the emcee was so funny and engaging, and there were a lot of families bowling around us as well. And the food is SO GOOD. The fried pickles are probably the best I have ever had! Not only is Olivette Lanes an amazing place to throw a party, but we will be returning time and time again to bowl for any occasion! read more

Ordered 2 beers on tap. Both were warm and flat. When joined by others in our group we told them not to order anything on tap. An employee chimed in and said the owner wouldn't buy a new cooler for the kegs, so stick with bottles. We heeded his advise. As most responsible drinkers, we drink water along with the alcohol. When we got our bill we saw she was charging us 0.25$ for each water/refill! They'll were packed with ice and didn't think much of it when she kept giving us new water instead of refilling the cups we handed to her. Also, a member of our group ordered vodka red bull, w/absolute it was $7.50. That seems very steep to me. Bowling was fine, floors were finished. They did their best to keep tables clean between groups. I haven't been bowling in a long time, but prices seemed steep. But could be the norm for Saturday night prices. $16 per person for 3 games and shoes. Women's bathrooms were gross w tp everywhere. Men's bathroom had electronic adds above faucets that did not work. Good thing we had hand sanitizer w us. Definitely won't be back. read more

I have no doubt in my mind that this is a great establishment, but they should reconsider who they allow answer their phones to speak with guests. I was planning on bringing a group of 20+ people in and was inquiring about drink specials for this evening and the woman I was talking to was beyond inconsiderate. The first time I called, I mentioned that I couldn't hear her and that I'd call back on a different phone, assuming it was my error and she hung up on me before I finished my sentence. The second time, she was still just as sour. First I asked if there were any specials regarding drinks, and she mentioned cosmic bowling. I said, "thank you, but I'm wondering about the pitcher / bucket prices" She cut me off before I could finish that sentence and only gave me a price for pitchers. When I asked about buckets, she seemed clearly irritated that I asked. Needless to say, the prices were right but it was such an unpleasant interaction over the phone that my group will be going elsewhere. read more

Nice clean bowling alley with cordial staff. A little smokey for me (I'm used to the CA venues) but not too bad. Lots of children hopped up on pizza and soda combined with "too cool for school" teens and serious bowlers made for an interesting evening. It was a decent experience. read more

My granddaughter had her tenth birthday party there on the 19th it was a disappointment for the most part. The bowling center was clean and the young man who helped this was polite but if you look at the internet and what they offer for their birthday partys it States and I quote your receive your own personal host the birthday child receives a special cup all the children receive free tickets for a future bowling game. An hour and a half on the lanes xcetera. We did not have a personal host, the your man was working the desk as well. They forgot to give her her birthday bowling cup we did not receive the coupons for future free bowling games for the children. The Pizza was mediocre at best. All in all not worth it read more

Olivette Lanes customer service is above and beyond. Specifically Brad and Christina have gone out of their way to make the customers time at the bowling alley a great experience. Olivette always has a low price point so that bowling fits into the budget. Also this alley has a heart for the community and has been generous enough to donate for my charity event.
