The house is very old so the stairs Creek and the radiators rattle in reminiscence of my grandma's house, which was so endearing. the hot water works amazing and the beds every one of them was comfortable clean, and the rooms were dark and air-conditioned. The downtown grill double booked our rehearsal dinner and gave the space to another party, (that's a separate yelp uggh ) our dinner plans were squashed, "the cottages" stepped in and helped us accommodate a group of 20 to 30 people catering from Morrisseys Front Porch and using the outdoor areas on a beautiful summer night the evening was a smashing success. I will say that one of the best parts of my son's wedding was being able to stay at the cottages where we all gathered and had an amazing time we were due to leave on Monday, but extended our stay till Wednesday. the proximity of this property to stores and restaurants made everything so easy . We loved the location so close to the boardwalk and beach, beautiful and quiet in the morning for my running pleasure, then nice and happening once the family woke up and we went back down. Reasonable rates. We would stay again. Loved relaxing on the porch at night reading stories to our kids. Super cute, they loved playing out on the lawn as well.

When we arrived, they told us to help ourselves to coffee or snacks and had extra towels in our friend's room for us to use! We weren't paying guests, but they helped us our of the kindness of their hearts! A heavenly sight, enhanced by hundreds of white lights along the path down the hill, on the perimeter of the huge banquet tent, and lighted torches along the river side. Enjoyed a spectacular Farm-to-table buffet. Bottom line: everyone attending expressed the view that this was the most elegant, beautiful wedding they ever attended!

Jane is a lovely host, and it is apparent she seeks to please her guests by cooking up hearty, tasty breakfasts. This is no measly continental buffet...We were prepared fluffy scrambled eggs, blueberry pancakes, buttery waffles, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, coffee and orange and cranberry juice. Enough to stuff us and our bottomless pit teenage son, and she gladly accommodated his food allergies. If that wasn't enough, Jane also has coffee/tea available throughout the day, and some cookies/pastries for grab and go. The 3rd floor Shabby Chic space is roomy for families with children with three separate sleeping rooms. As converted attic space, the angled ceilings are a bit low, and the tricky stairs and ceilings make it more suited to young shorter guests (we're all 5'8" or less). Cleaning protocols seem really solid, including bed, bath, and dining spaces. My only criticism is that while the numerous dried and/or fake roses are part of the theme/decor, they inevitably collect a lot of dust - not great for those with allergy sensitivities.

They had our reservation for over eight months and waited until the day before we were to arrive to tell us they had double-booked the room and that we no longer had a reservation!! The Plymouth, New Hampshire area is notoriously difficult to get a room in the August timeframe. That is why we made our reservations in January. Now we are faced with paying $500+ a night for a room (if we can find one in the area) or having to travel an hour or more from a hotel room in another area to attend a wedding in Plymouth on the 20th. If this hotel really cared about its customers, they would have let us know immediately that the room was overbooked.

There was a BAT flying around in our room at 3 am, to which the Inn told us to "deal with it" since…read moreno employee would be on site until 7:30 am. We immediately vacated the premises out of concern for our safety. The Inn not only refused to refund us but also showed zero sympathy. In clear defiance of public health guidelines, the owner told us we should have stayed in the room and should not have left. The owner said that I needed to "act like an adult," called me "an entitled little horror," and screamed, "This is New Hampshire and not a war zone in Ukraine!" She blamed me for waking them up at 3 am and even accused me of bringing the bat into the room. She was inconsistent, at times saying there was no bat and at other times saying it was just a fruit bat. Bat exposure aside, their costumer service is the opposite of hospitable, with zero regard for our health and safety. Also the room was dirty, with dust balls and no hand soap.

The Grand View Resort was the perfect place to get away for a couple of nights. We rented 2 rooms…read morethat featured 2 queens, a nice TV, ice cold AC and a lot of attention to the details that matter to me. Best part is that they allow dogs and we bought our Malamute puppy! For mid summer the price was very reasonable. The weather was pure sunshine perfect for both days. No need to go anywhere else. This is now our place for having lodging and having a great time in the Lakes Region of NH. The view is to die for and I am sure it looks the same as in 1850 when they named the resort The Grand View. The sun rising in the east over the mountains that overlook the lake is incredible and worth getting up early for. The manicured grounds are lush green with lots of flowers and many bird feeders! The accommodations themselves were A+. Rooms were amply sized and immaculate. I was impressed with the excellent mattress and the choice of 4 different types of pillows. Its nice not to wish you had brought your own. To me the bed is of utmost importance, it can make or break a motel stay again an A+. The shower had great pressure too! Thought the TV could have been a size larger but was new enough and we were not there to sit inside anyways. Grilled the second night after another fantastic and long day on the water. As we sat out by the fireplace overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee beer in hand I am thinking why am I breaking my neck on life's endless treadmill when I could get a place by a lake somewhere near here or there and chill out forever. I want to add that I left a part of our dogs crate in the room when we left. We stopped next door at Kellerhaus Ice cream & gift shop. I couldn't believe it the owner ran all the way with this metal piece at least a couple hundred yards to give it to us. Blew me away how incredibly nice and caring that was. 6 Stars!
