I happened to be watching the classroom livestream when I witnessed two separate physical interactions between Ms. Morgan and my son. During the first incident, my son had put a bucket on his head that he was not supposed to be wearing. Rather than speaking to him or asking him to give it to her, Ms. Morgan came behind him and snatched it away without any verbal warning. My son cannot speak well but he understands simple directions and will hand something over when asked. About 30 minutes later, Ms. Morgan lifted my son out of a chair and then pushed him away with enough force that he had to take a step forward to catch himself. What was just as upsetting as witnessing these incidents was the response from the director, Ms. Pam. After reviewing what happened, the blame was placed on our developmentally and speech-delayed child rather than the adult in the situation. We did not receive the remorse, accountability, or reassurance we expected from someone we trusted with caring for our child. What was most odd was that when we expressed how upset we were, the response seemed to change only after we mentioned leaving a review. We were told that we "didn't need to go that far." As parents, our priority was never a review-- it was how our child was treated and how our concerns were handled afterward. Children with developmental and communication delays require additional patience, redirection, and understanding. They should never be treated as though their disability excuses an adult handling them in a way that is concerning. I am incredibly grateful that I happened to be watching the livestream and saw these interactions myself. Based on what we witnessed and the way our concerns were handled afterward, we do not trust this daycare with our son. For parents ,especially parents of children who are nonverbal, speech delayed, or unable to tell you what happens during their day, pay close attention and advocate for your child when something doesn't feel right.

The low score is for the lack of education and activities for the kids. Because of the cameras, we could see what our kid was up to. Initially it seemed ok, but as the year went on, things got bad. Most of the day was our kid running around in a chaotic classroom with a bunch of rowdy toddler boys biting and kicking and punching each other. The poor teachers looked overwhelmed and exhausted. They had a few toys, most were locked up (maybe bc of the mess that got made?? Not sure why...), so you'd see the kids fighting over a dirty teddy bear or whatever few toys were available. The crafts and activities were few and rare, and not much supplies available to make it an interesting craft. The outside playground was dismal too. We paid over $200/week, sometimes $2000+/month, and we're still confused as to why there was so little for our kid to do each day. Perhaps a lot of the $ went to the franchise company? Either way, I'd be cautious about enrolling your child here, there is really no educational plan or adherence to one. Teachers are great, I really think it's a management issue and the lack of resources available to teachers. We ended up placing our kid in a small privately owned preschool which has been 1000 times better- every day we see them doing stimulating activities and learning so much.

We were assured that her behavior was normal and that the staff was familiar with situations like hers. However, after one month of attending daycare two days a week, our daughter became genuinely petrified of the school and its teachers. We later learned that one of the teachers had been berating toward her. Instead of offering comfort and support, the teacher appeared annoyed and unwilling to tolerate her anxiety. Some examples included showing her the infant rooms while she was crying and telling her "babies cry here" as well as pointing and demanding she follow directions in a tone and demeanor that even we, as her parents, would never use. When I brought these concerns to the director, Ms. Tammy, her response felt dismissive and, truthfully, disingenuous. Her comments included, "I'm sorry you feel that way," and "She's the only child that's been this way here." These responses were surprising, especially considering the warm welcome and assurances we initially received. We understand that our child is not the only one they need to tend to, but a little grace and comfort would go a long way for a three‑year‑old experiencing daycare for the first time. The kids are encouraged to participate and interact in a group leaning environment. The curriculum is adapted for each individual child's development and progress. I feel this is essential, especially when children begin forming social bonds with each other and communicating. For the younger toddlers, the staff has been great at working with parents in key challenges such as potty training and eating. The culture and environment is diverse, including cultural experiences, language exposure, lunch selection, and demographics. They school additional words in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish to add additional context to subject matters. Children are taught about ethnic holidays ranging from Chinese New Year to Diwali while encouraging parental participation. Socialization is promoted through group play and they are mindful to encourage participation. They approach seperation anxiety and behavioral issues with understanding and compassion, but prioritizes the emotional and physical well being of all children first and foremost. As mentioned by several reviews, there was an incident involving repeated and extreme behavioral issues with a child who aggressively bit numerous children, including to the face. Some of the bites caused bruising and bleeding. Goddard respected the confidentiality of that child, but children and parents talk. That child was promptly dismissed to protect other children from further injury and potential emotional distress. I truly commend them on how they dealt with that disturbing situation.

A lot of daycares have small, musty grounds that seem uncomfortable for children to be cooped up in all day, but the Montessori Academy of Chino has HUGE, open, sunny classrooms with plenty of space for the kids. The entrance is secure and the sign in/out process is easy on their device (no annoying sheets to sign every day). Their outside area is gated and faces away from the street, so it also feels very safe. Secondly, the staff are attentive. Outside of the classroom, on the rare occasion I've had an issue, the director or owner have communicated quickly and directly. Inside the classroom, the teachers are nice and seem like they enjoy their job. They have plenty of fun activities for the kids and are wonderful about having special events! There is occasional turnover, but that is to be expected with any early education center. The main teachers have stayed consistent which is great for the kids. Overall, our family simply loves this school. I can't thank them enough for all they do!
