I committed to one lesson a week for a year and it was amazing. There's only so much I know with only musical exposure for a year but what I can tell you regarding my singing is that I have more fun, I am more confident, and dare I say I may even sound quite a bit better. Gabi helped me discover what my vocal strengths are, helped with my weaknesses, and taught me all kinds of techniques to use when singing. (I still don't know what half of them are called but she was great at putting it in terms for me to understand) I'm just an average person who likes to jam to Disney musicals in my car. She really connects with her students which allowed her to help me explore other music that I may enjoy, and it definitely worked. I've been a student at Studio Shanks since 2018, when I was fresh out of college and looking for a voice teacher who could earnestly teach me how to sing. At the time, there were flashy online ads for folks that could "make you a superstar" and all of it felt so loud and nothing seemed to fit. At one point Patricia returned my call.
